The latest in the Setective Ellie Reeves series. Certainly keeps you reding and is a page swiper. Keeps you guessing and I found that I cared about the disappearing girls as well. Very well written, kept me guessing and I look forward to the next in the series.

I will forever be a Detective Ellie Reeves fan. I am waiting so patiently for the tension in her personal life to come to a head, and while we have not yet reached the precipice, we seem to be so close. The mystery itself was intriguing and as usual, Rita Herron writes an action packed, aggressive story. I always zoom through this series with pleasure and its always a great read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

Fast paced and thrilling as always! Herron’s books always start with a bang and suck you in right away.

Ellie and Derrick are on the hunt for someone taking local teens, and realize there may be a tie to a past case from 15 years prior.

Lots of secrets woven throughout the story, and it was crazy to see some of those come to light. My only “complaint” is that the killer reveal wasn’t a bigger section and it seemed over with just as quickly as it started. I’ve been a fan of the series from the beginning, and am always excited for new additions! Hoping in the next installment that Ellie gets some happiness in her life, and resolves the little love triangle that’s happening.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

Book 9 of this fantastic Detective series brings yet another monster in the mountains that Ellie Reeves must find and catch.

A teenaged girl goes missing, and her parents are sent a picture of her posed in a bed, possibly dead. The posing leads Ellie to a case 15 years prior, where a man was arrested but was recently released due to a justice agency who have set out to prove his innocence. Ellie and her team must work quickly before anyone else goes missing.

I always love reading about Ellie, our strong and brave heroine. She is full of empathy, quick to make decisions, and is never afraid to rush headfirst into danger to save someone. Her love triangle is still in full swing in this outing, and we get to see plenty of Cord and Derrick and their feelings.

The case was a good one, with ties to bullying and social media, to family and betrayal, and to throwbacks to the past. It all tied together neatly in the end. I continue to love this series and will be ready to read book 10 whenever it is ready!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book has everything that you would expect from the Detective Ellie Reeves series, action, danger, mystery, and the continued love triangle wondering who Ellie will end up with.

Book 9 and after the shock baby news at the end of book 8, we see Cord and Ellie both fighting their feelings, and Derrick not knowing where he stands. This love story will have you in as many knots as the mystery itself!

As Ellie leads her team to uncover who is abducting and killing teenage girls and posing them in the same way as a victim of a murder 15years earlier, she finds herself in danger herself and under scrutiny from the tiny town who want results yesterday.

This book will have you enthralled, as the tangled web is uncovered and the shock reason behind the crimes comes out.

Thanks NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Five amazing stars! This book was so well written and had some great characters. Full of twists and turns and seriously creepy. This was a real page turner. It kept me up reading deep into the night. I had goosebumps, my goosebumps had goosebumps. This one keeps you guessing right till the end. Missing children, an overturned conviction from a past similar case and then deaths. There is so much fear and suspense just packed into this one.
A must read.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of The Sleeping Girls by Rita Herron that I read and reviewed.
The Sleeping Girls is the ninth book in the Ellie Reeves series by Rita Herron and picked up right where the last one left off where Ellie and Cord were torn and fighting their feelings because he just found out because he was a father. Now, a new case has came up and they are back to doing what they do best working together and ignoring their feelings.
This book has a great story that features another member af Ellie’s team and his family and the hot mess they were when he was growing up and the murder wrap his bother had to deal with and still seems to be dealing with today. I loved how they had to solve a case from the past to solve the case from the present and also help a member of their team get a lot of answers from his past that he did not even know he had. That part of the book the book was excellent.
I am giving The Sleeping Girls five out of five stars

Wow! This one, I just couldn’t put down.
A teen is missing and Ellie is doing everything to find her.
Digger is released from prison with the help of an Innocent Project. But is he really innocent or did he get out of jail just to kill again?
The suspense was spot on. Ellie is dealing with some personal stuff as well. And I loved seeing her and the team work. I can not wait for the next one.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the chance to read and review this.

Really enjoyed this. I couldn’t put it down. I haven’t read the other books in the series. It felt fine as a stand-alone but now I want to go back and read the others. Very intriguing. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A young girl's disappearance finds Detective Ellie Reeves and her team trying to solve the case. When the girl's parents get a picture of their daughter lying on white sheets with her hair spread on the pillow and a stuffed bear in her arms, Eve realizes that the girl is already dead but can't find where the murderer left the body. The disappearance of another girl, a close friend of the first victim, puts pressure on the team to find the perp. Are these events connected to a man recently released from prison after a lawyer finds evidence that the murder conviction that put him in jail for over a decade deserves reconsideration. The plot thickens when another girl is taken, and Eve learns that the release prisoner is the brother of a member of the team. It's an exciting read with an interesting conclusion. In the midst of the chaos of the case, Ellie and Cord are struggling with their feelings for each other. Will they have a chance for a relationship? I eagerly anticipate the next book.

The story is skillfully unfolds with twists and turns that you don't see coming. Ellie is once again paired up with Derrick, her FBI partner, and Cord, a park ranger and tracker, to find the kidnapper and killer. There is an investigation with new suspects being found the more the story progresses. The question is not only who is doing it, but why. A good mix of suspense and the personal lives of the characters. The ending exposes secrets and lies that have been buried for too long. As always, it leaves you ready for you to find out what happens next in the lives of Ellie, Derrick and Cord.

A young girl is abducted and just as the investigation is underway her parents receive a photograph showing the teenager posed on a bed , dead .
Detective Ellie Reeves soon spots similarities to a case from 10years ago , what is the link ? is it a copycat ?
When another young girl , a friend of the victim with similar features , goes missing it becomes a race against time to find her alive
This is a fast paced thriller , full of twists and turns - a police procedural with an empathetic female detective

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Detective Ellie Reeves is called out when a teenager goes missing. Her parents insist that she didn't have a boyfriend, yet a neighbour saw her with a teen boy the night she disappeared. The parents get a photo of Kelsey, lying with white sheets and a stuffed toy, and it is clear that she is dead.
Soon after, Kelsey's friend goes missing, and Ellie has to work quickly to solve the case before the same happens to her.

A tense and suspenseful read! I like a female lead in a police procedural, and Ellie ticks all the boxes, she is strong, has empathy and is smart.
This is the first novel I have read, written by Rita Herron, but it won't be the last. I want to read the previous 8 Detective Ellie Reeves so that I can catch up on her private life.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

The Sleeping Girls is the latest book in the Ellie Reeves Series. A missing girl has Ellie wondering if she is a runaway or a victim of a horrific crime, then the parents receive a picture of the young girl lying on a bed with a sheet up to her chin looking very much dead. Ellie believes this case may be tied to another one years ago and then another young girl goes missing. And if that wasn’t bad enough Ellie discovers that one of her own team members has been keeping secrets that might help solve the case. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me guessing. Can’t wait wait to read the next book in this series by Rita Herron. Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this arc.

The Sleeping Girls (Detective Ellie Reeves Book 9) by Rita Herron is truly an addictive crime thriller packed with pulse-pounding twists.

The Sleeping Girls is a great addition to the Ellie Reeves series. One by one, three teenagers go missing, which is thought to be about bullying.

The author skillfully unravels this gripping story with credible characters, a thrilling mystery, and heart-pounding scenes. Even if you think you know the outcome, the scenes are written in a way that you just aren't sure what really is going to happen.

I laughed in one part where one character talks about struggling to tame her hair into a glossy mane. I remember as a teen also struggling with my naturally curly hair and wanting it look like the popular girls' hair and how sleek and pretty their hair was.

This book is exciting and full of gripping scenes and dark secrets.

The ending!! When is the next book??!! I really enjoy this series and cannot wait for more. I would recommend this book, this author, and this series. Start from book 1 to get to know the characters; you won’t be disappointed.
