This was a very sad story but picked up towards the end. Some well described characters and an interesting storyline. of how people learn to cope with tragedy in life and build a better future.

I enjoyed this book but it wasn’t what I expected. I was hoping for thriller:/ suspense based on the cover and summary but it was more drama.

I won't go so far as to say I did not enjoy this book but it was not what I expected. The front cover and synopsis were misleading and I expected more of a murder mystery than a tale of finding love and happily ever after.

Wow what a book! I started this book and found it very hard to put down. If you are going to pick it up to read make sure you have the time to finish it in one sitting! A great read!

A good read but definitely more of a drama than a thriller. Needs rethinking the blurb so people are not disappointed. Good characters moving forward slightly a slow burn for me but worth a read. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy

A good easy read with 2 timelines, well written novel

Filled with guilt and grief, with many enjoyable characters and their own dramas.

Definitely worth 5 stars. Recommended

A decent read, it was a family drama that explores the emotions of losing an only child. It wasn't what I expected; it was more of a suspense story, and I was looking for a thrilling story.

I found the book to be an alright read, but it didn't personally resonate with me. While it may not have been a perfect match for my preferences, I believe it could certainly appeal to others...

Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for the eARC.

This was marketed as a thriller, which is totally my thing. It isn't bad at all though. The suspense was wonderful! I like the characters.
Expect a low start but it gets better.

Layla was there the night Danny died and out of guilt she continues to visit Melody and Reese Danny‘s parents. Melody looks forward to every visit like a lifeline and Reese is worried about her but in worrying about Melody he doesn’t have to face his own trauma. Layla is having issues of her own she meets a guy name Morgan she also lives with her mom and soon her sister and sister son fin will live there as well in a small apartment. Morgan also has his own issues this is definitely a family drama those who love the genre can sync their teeth into but I in no way would read this looking for a thriller. There is a slight mystery in what Layla isn’t telling about the night Danny died but there are no twist no surprises with the exception of what happened. Having said that I do want to say there is drama especially with Morgan his girlfriend in the cook at the restaurant where she works. I have enjoyed every Deirdre Palmer book I have read and this one is no exception but I think I was just expecting something more thrilling… May be due to the title? I DK if it is still worth reading as I enjoyed it and wanted to finish. Felt invested in the characters lives especially Melody in Reese I loved their story involving Layla and getting over the death of their only child. I want to thank storm publishing and net galley for my free Ark copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

More of a family drama than my usual phsychological thriller so I was a bit disappointed. A slow start and even once into it, it just couldn't keep my interest.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my ARC.

There were different levels of creepy throughout this book- from the very odd relationship between Layla and Danni's parents to the other relationships in her life that are all tainted in some way by the night Danni died.
The threads of grief and guilt are cleverly woven from character to character but actually when the truth is revealed it is a bit of an anti climax.

As the title states, a family drama with a  decent storyline. I liked the way the characters lives intertwined with each other and the way the main event was revealed. Contains, loss, heartache, guilt, betrayal and romance. A light, easy read. I received an advance review copy from Netgalley for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily .

Thanks to #NetGalley and #StormPublishing for the ARC #TheNightSheDied by #DeirdrePalmer. This book was a roller coaster of emotions around the death of a best friend and what really happened and why. Things are not always what they seem. Highly recommend this book.

After reading it, I'm surprised to see The Night She Died being described in some places as a thriller, as it really doesn't have any of the aspects I associate with thrillers. It's more of a family drama that explores grief, loss, and learning to forgive yourself for mistakes, even when those mistakes have horrific consequences. I enjoyed it for the most part, but it definitely started to drag about 2/3 of the way through; I ended up just skimming the last 50 pages or so. I just didn't really care enough about the characters to stay fully engaged through the end.

The night she died by Deirdre Palmer.
My life is split into two parts. Before my best friend Danni died, and after. Danni’s parents see me as a second daughter. We helped each other through our grief. They even have my picture hanging on their wall.
But they don’t know everything about the night their daughter died. And the truth is eating me alive.
A really good read. Wasn't sure about Layla. 4*.

I did enjoy reading the night she died however I was expecting a thriller as this is what it was categorised under, however I would say it’s more a story around grief, love and loss.

At times I found myself slightly confused as it was told in past and present and I couldn’t always work out exactly where I was in this book, but I think in part that was because I was looking for elements of a thriller, the suspense etc which this book didn’t have.

The night she died is centred around the death of Danni, she died a year ago, her parents Rhys and Melody are devastated by their daughter’s death., they feel guilty and are utterly grief stricken. To cope with their grief they are clinging on to her best friend Leila and look at her and treat her as a second daughter.

Leila on the other hand is trying to move forward with her life. She too is devastated by the loss of her best friend Danni but Leila is hiding a secret about the night Danni died, it’s gnawing away at her conscience. Leila hopes her secret never comes out however it maybe the key to everyone moving on after Danni’s tragic death.

Thank you to NetGalley the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.
