An impressively researched and put together look at the current state of “vulture capitalism” and how we got here. It is not an easy read and I appreciated the author’s inclusion of many recent and current examples of corporate greed and bad behavior including Boeing, Exxon, Amazon, Ford, to name a few.

Though a totally different subject, reading this reminded me of my experience of reading Saving Time which is similarly somewhere between academic and accessible/reader-friendly in tone but closer to academic.

I am not sure whether I felt more devastated or hopeful by the end but I do share the author’s belief that people have more power than they think they do and that we can change things (if enough of us decide to).

Thank you very much to Atria Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a copy.
