A young witch struggling to control her powers scrambles to fix her mistake after a chance meeting with an enemy vampire.

I'm not a big reader of Graphic Novels, but have lately been trying to get into them. Morgana and Oz, Volume One is a good representative of the genre! It's an entertaining, easy read that will have you chuckling and happily turning each page until you reach the (cliffhanger) end.

Morgana is adorable and believable as a clumsy, teenage practitioner. Oz is full of understandable angst after his unfortunate run-in with Morgana. And their families, while a little underdeveloped, are made up of unique and intriguing characters with plenty of room for growth. My only real complaint is the ending, which was too sudden and left a lot much unanswered. But I'm still eager for volume two!

The art style in Morgana and Oz is perhaps some of the best eye candy in my life. The detail, colors, environment, and chemistry between characters is to die for.

The story follows a kind-hearted, naive witch in her late teens who's struggling to keep her powerful but chaotic magical spells under control. She develops a charmingly close relationship with Oz, the youngest - and angstiest - vampire in her region.

We enter the series when the vampires are invited over to the witches' house for a reconciliation dinner after a multigenerational feud. While the house of witches is in a frenzy as it prepares for its guests, Morgana is trying to magic her dinner dress into something that she actually wants to wear. Naturally, the dress goes up in flames (again).

The vampires have already arrived at the dinner table, Morgana is still frantically covering up her mishap in the backyard... right where Oz is standing by as backup - should the vampires be attacked. Morgana is the kindest witch in the history of fantasy, so of course she wants to be friends with Oz when she sees him.

But when chaos erupts inside the house, Morgana spots out a started spell. And suddenly, Oz is gone... and his place, there is only an angsty, pointy-fanged cat.

It's a slow-burn story of young love and friendship with kidnappings, family secrets, werewolves, and lots of humor.

Morgana and Oz is coming out in physical form on September 24th. In the meantime, you can find it as a webtoon. Thank you, Miyuli and Webtoon Unscrolled, for this Netgalley ARC.

I was really excited to receive this ARC from Wattpad Webtoon. It is important to keep in mind when reading Webtoons is that they are released on a weekly format. Storylines can be changed due to audience feedback and popularity. The art style is very cute, and you can see the love and attention to detail the artist put into all of her characters. The artist makes a clear distinction between the vampires and the witches. In the first volume, you the see the beginnings of a plot and conflict set up. The chapters are not very long, so they are very easy to breeze through. On the other hand, this means that there is not much development in terms of plot. In fact, the first volume only makes you hungry for more Morgana and Oz. I am excited to see more of their story develop. Hopefully, volume 2 is released soon!

Morgana and Oz is fun! I'm always glad to see webcomics and or webtoons get physical releases, because it opens up the series to a whole other base of potential fans and this has all the makings of a fan favorite! It's got a nice mix of gothic and cute, and the characters bounce off one another nicely. It was a good time!

Thank you to Wattpad Webtoon Book Group and NetGalley for allowing me access to this book. I’ve had Morgana and Oz on my “to-read” list on Webtoon for awhile as I’m a big witch and vampire fan and this book did not disappoint. I can’t wait to see where Morgana and Oz’s relationship goes. The Winterberry family is precious! And the artwork? It’s gorgeous.

Will definitely have to hop to the webtoon to find out what happens next!!

A really enchanting read!

I love the artwork and character design in this comic. Everything is wonderfully rendered and colored, the story pacing is very good as well. I admit that I've read this WebToon comic before receiving a look at the advanced copy for the published version - I absolutely adore it as a whole, and still find the story very compelling and entertaining.

I can sympathize with Morgana, Oz, and many of the other characters in the story. Sometimes it takes a while to grow out of that awkward phase where it seems like you can't get anything right for whatever reason. I believe that this volume encompasses just enough of the story to constitute it as an introduction to the comic. You get a taste of what everyone is like, and what their motivations might be. You get a sense of the dangers of the world in which the story takes place, as well.

Overall I think that the story telling, the pacing, the characters, the art - it all blends together for a wonderful read.
If you're a fan of witches, vampires, or just magic in general, I feel like Morgana and Oz is a really good read to try out!

This is a very charming Romeo and Juliet-esque webtoon that was so easy to read. The story focuses on a family of witches who are nearly at war with a vampire clan with a lot of mystique surrounding the two groups. Morgana is instantly loveable in the clumsy way a lot of webtoon heroines seem to be and I was rooting for her from the beginning. Oz is a grumpy but caring even though he doesn't want to male lead. I always fall for the grumpy + trying her best duo that these two end up being so I loved it. The pacing of the story drew me in, but one of the downfalls of turning a webtoon into a graphic novel is no good place to end said novel so the story ended in a really weird place that felt unnatural. That said, with all the questions it left it might make readers pick up where they left off on the webtoon app.
Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I think what pulled me to reading this is how much I love magic and fantasy which you will definitely get a lot of from this graphic novel. It has a cute premise and the main character has a warmth to her. I felt disappointed with the art in certain places, especially because there were some sections that were done so well and other areas that felt lacking. I had also hoped for more complex magic instead of the language used in the graphic novel. It has a cozy fantasy vibe that will definitely intrigue many people. I think ultimately the audience for this is young adult, and it can be a nice introduction to graphic novels.

romeo and juliet retelling with witches and vampires!! IM SEATED!! this graphic novel was a such fun read!

a good first volume of the webtoon series where it immediately introduces us to the feuding families: witches vs vampires! morgana an optimistic clumsy witch who is still trying to learn how to control her powers somehow ends up turning oz, the grumpy bad boy vampire from the rival clan, into a cat!! the rest of the story follows morgana trying to reverse her spell and help oz turn back into a cat.

this ended on cliffhanger but it definitely has me hooked for the next volume to see what happens next for morgana and oz!

I wasn't quite sure at first whether I liked this or not but by the time I got to the end, I was interested enough to maybe want to read more of the webtoon on webtoons. Morgana is a well meaning but sort of bumbling witch who isn't quite good at her magic but hopes to take over the family magic business. Oz is striking me as a loner type vampire who is accidentally transformed into a cat by Morgana after negotiations between the witches and vampires goes south. Morgana then tries and tries to transform Oz back into a vampire but along the way they both get glimpses into their respective lives and I saw a sort of understanding start. Again, pretty good and I might read more online.

I had already read a bit of this series on webtoon, and was excited to see it's coming to print. This is beautifully formatted for the page from the webtoon format. I love the art style and colors. The characters are fun and the artist does a lovely job with faces and expressions.

The author does a great job world building and introducing the characters over time and in a natural way. We quickly want to know more about the witches and vampires and what's going on between the factions, but also we want to know more about the characters. Will Morgana manage to get a handle on her magic? What's up with her family members? What are the motives behind the red clan vampires?

We'll have to keep reading to find out

An honestly cute story that gives Kiki's Delivery Service vibes with vampires added for some flavor. Morgana is your typical optimistic, clumsy protagonist that is handled in a way that it's endearing and cute. The underlying mystery that is introduced in this first volume is good, just enough inconsistencies to keep the reader alert without it being overshadowed or heavy-handed.

Took a little to pick up but this was super cute! Ended on a bit of a cliffhanger but I’m so invested!

The dialogue, world building, and art was well done and flowed smoothly, I’m definitely intrigued to learn more about the red clan vampires, and the little family dynamics / snippets were fun to see.

Overall very fun story, I would love to read more!

Morgana, a witch, and Oz, a vampire, meet by chance and must work together to prevent war between their clans. But when Morgana accidentally turns Oz into a cat, their relationship takes a unique turn.

This is such a cute story. I flew through it with enjoyment. I loved the art style and I liked the cozy nature of it all. Despite dire circumstances, you still have that cozy feeling. It's a mix of comedy, drama, and fun.

Morgana is a witch who has very little control of her magic. She tends to set things on fire. When there is a meeting at her house, she runs into Oz, a vampire. Conflict ensues between the witches and vampires and Morgana accidentally turns Oz into an adorable white cat. To make matters worse, only Morgana can understand him!

The pace was fast and the world is very interesting. Magic is complex and there is more I want to learn about the vampires and their clan. The volume ends with the introduction of a new character and I'm interested to see what he brings into the mix. I look forward to continuing this series.

Thank you, NetGalley and Webtoon, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When a struggling witch encounters an angsty vampire, it's a tale of either love or war.

Morgana, from a long line of witches, and Oz, a member of a rival vampire clan, find themselves entangled after a serendipitous meeting and a few inadvertent spells. To avoid an all-out war between their respective coven and clan, they must collaborate.

The story unfolds with charm, as Morgana and Oz, seemingly destined as enemies, are compelled to break a spell gone awry and assist poisoned vampires. The endearing characters, particularly Morgana's quirky family, invite curiosity about their background. The narrative is peppered with mysteries, creating anticipation for the series' continuation. The vibrant artwork complements the exciting plot, although the suspenseful cliffhanger at the end leaves readers eagerly awaiting more.

A heartfelt thanks to NetGalley & Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for the opportunity.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Webtoons for granting me early access to this book! My review is based off my experience while reading.

Morgana is a young witch still learning how to control her magic. She’s a bit clumsy and stunted in her magical growth but that doesn’t stop her determination.

Oz is an angsty teen vampire anxiously waiting to serve his master for the good of the red vampire clan, which consequently has been at odds with the witches for generations.

The story was relatively quick to read, about 300 pages. Took me less than an hour to read it. The art style was adorable, and you can get a feel on the characters even with limited dialogue. I thought it was really well written. It left off with a mysterious new character and a question about a possible 3rd interfering party. I’m excited to see where it goes. I would honestly love this as a show! I would definitely give this 5 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and Webtoon for sending me an early copy of this graphic novel! All opinions are my own!

Oh my goodness, this was so cute! I loved every second of it, from the slightly angsty bits to the parts where Morgana and Oz were being absolutely adorable! They went from just enough angst to bond and have some shared trauma and make you root for them and open your heart to them - to being silly and sweet and making the whole thing so much fun!

I loved everything about this from the artwork to the way it keeps you hooked to the interesting worldbuilding. I can't wait to get my hands on the next volume!

4.5 out of 5 stars

I have read most of the first "season" of this before on Webtoon so I did already know what was going to happen but I still really enjoyed my time with this. I love the art style and the formatting of the book is much easier for me to read rather than the scroll format but I really hated how dark the watermark was for the arc edition, I could not read some words and it did take away from the art a bit. I just feel like they could've watermarked it in a less invasive way that would still be effective and then the book would've been a complete 5 stars from me. Anyways, I love this story and I love it when there's fighting between supernatural beings in stories but then there's those middle characters that fight against the useless fighting. I love the main characters and Morgana's brother is so adorable, I can't wait to see more of him in the next volume because I will definitely be collecting this physically when I can make some more room for graphic novels. There are quite a few mildly annoying and unlikeable characters which I think really helps balance the loveable idiots that are our main two characters. I am also a sucker for characters that have really strong powers that have to learn to control them but are afraid of hurting those around them and then angsty but soft vampires??? yes please.

Disclaimer: I received an arc copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
