A wonderful way to teach children emotions and how they work in our body. Breaking it down based on science and how our brain sends different impulses out is an amazing way to get a grip on those emotions and regulate them. The illustrations were adorable but my favorite part was the activities.

This books had several activists throughout that were designed to help children regulate their emotions, or provide an outlet for them. Breaking it down in a scientific way shows them that they can conquer it and they are not subject to stay in that emotion forever. I can’t wait to try out some of the activities with my children.

This SEL gem of a picture book should be in every library and classroom. It combines descriptions of emotions with how to deal with them and even includes activities throughout the book to learn more about and practice emotional regulation.

This was a superb book to enable people, children or adults alike to understand their emotions and to see a way forward. The descriptions involved were very well put and explained very clearly. The reading would suit a teenager as well as an adult but with help a oyounger person could follow along and gain help from reading this.
I did think that the activities geared towards the yoounger element were superb and would certainly help them to understand the how and why we feel the way that we do and the way that the brain works.

The writing style is quite juvenile for the concepts covered in this book. The concepts are important, and understanding how your brain works can be empowering. But I don't think the style of illustrations and language match well with explanations of physical parts of the brain, for example.

The audience for this book would probably be a K-1 student. Younger would probably be lost in the terminology, and older would find the wording or activities childish.

I do think my 7-year old would benefit from this, and I'm sure others could as well.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

On the surface this is a children's book on how the brain works, but it's also very much for the grown ups. Despite reading and learning about this in the past, this was the first time I really understood how the parts of the brain interact. The nicknames, characters, and color coding are very helpful.

I downloaded this for my 7 and 8 year old boys and so far they seem to like it! They both love science and growing up in a big family means lots of big feelings to navigate - so the hope is this will help them learn in a way they understand. So far we are fans!

This is like the book version of inside out and I love it!

the illustrations are sweet and the language is just right, not too complicated but also not too simplified. it's easy to understand and I love the recipes for the different emotions.

I remember how I adore Inside Out movie. It is beautiful and become a cute way to introduce and explaining about feelings to children. This book gave me the same vibes and I cant wait to show it to my young readers.

The narration is well written, light and easy to follow. The author successfully make the heavier topic explanation become easy enough to understand. The topic it self very informative, useful to learn and fill with powerful messages. Not only for child but also parents and teachers.
The illustrations is adorable and cheerful.

I am obsessed with this book! It’s so well written and the images are great!

I love that it portrays the parts of the brain as characters to explain how they work.

The addition of hands in activities for kids to do is awesome. I’ll definitely be getting a copy for my kids!

As a therapist and educator, I find this book engaging, informative, and super powerful. To understand the science to one's own body and reactions that are emotional AND to provide tools on how to manage these feelings is a great combo. I will definitely be buying this and using in the classroom, office and at home with my own children.
