I think I loved this just as much as We All Want Impossible Things. This is the most beautiful, funny, sad and true rumination on motherhood, being female, marriage, and being a daughter. I found myself laughing and crying, and also saying “God this is all so true.” Over and over again. Set over one week in a well loved vacation house on the Cape, Sandwich is the story of Rocky, her husband Nick and their two adult children. The parent child relationships are SO spot on, as is the marriage. Nothing is perfect but everything is beautiful, over and over again. Life is imperfect, and sometimes so painful, but there is so much beauty and love in everyone we keep close. What a beautiful book. I cannot wait to press this into the hands of the every woman I know.

Loved this story of a family that spends a week of vacation on the east coast. Women in their 40s and older can resonate with the main character.

I love this book so much! I have already raved about it to my coworkers at the bookstore. This book will be the perfect laugh-out-loud book for any woman in the stage of life with grown up kids and/or going through any of the crazy stages of menopause! We can all relate to the myriad of emotions while watching our kids starting out in their adult lives- pride in their successes, worry about their safety and happiness, and deep love for them. There is also the time spent with our aging parents which is both beautiful and exhausting. There is such a sense of appreciation for the time we get to spend with our kids and parents in those stages of life. All that is happening while our own hormones are wreaking havoc on our emotions and everything is changing in our bodies and.... sometimes you just have to LAUGH about it. And I laughed so much including at 4AM while reading this book!

An excellent read, humorous and deep at the same time. Highly recommended for readers of Nora Ephron.
