This story had good twists that I didn’t see coming and it was fast paced, making it easy to stay hooked in the book. I enjoyed the way that Weaver told the story, and thought that it was well-executed. There were a few parts that were a little cliched but that didn’t bother me. I look forward to reading her next book.

This is one the first book I've read where social media is really incorporated into the plot. I honestly thought I wasn't going to enjoy it because of that element but I was pleasantly surprised. Great plot, great character development. All around a fun read!

Amanda Pruitt is an influencer on Tik Tok - but only her best friends know. She has been posting about her sister's murder trial - literally, her sister on trial for murder. But Amanda is the one who gave them the evidence to convict her - when her sister was innocent the entire time. Now Amanda feels the need to atone for her behavior, and decides to find the real murderer of an eccentric billionaire because the accused is her friend's mom.

The police consider it case closed - but Amanda decides to use her Tik Tok account to change that. She stays in a haunted hotel in the mountains where the murder happened, and tries to reconnect with her estranged bestie, Vince. But the plan doesn't go as planned....

I had trouble with this book because I got tired of hearing how awful a person she was (she would tell herself) and how guilty she felt, when her sister was completely unaware of what happened. Teenage angst is real, but it just gets to be too much sometimes.

This is an interesting story. Amanda is a strong character, one looking for redemption after having pointed the finger at her sister for a murder. So, when her close friend’s mother is accused of a murder, Amanda wants to help him figure out what really happened. Yet upon arriving in Colorado, she is wrapped up in a mystery that is even bigger than she expected. This is a fast-paced book that integrates the past and present beautifully to help the reader figure out what really happened that fateful night. While this is the second book in the series you do not have to read the books in order to enjoy this book. I think teens will love the intrigue and the twists that accompany this tale.
Thank you to Disney Publishing and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

This book was so well written. The characters are real and raw, and I really cared about what happened to them. The possible haunting added a spooky vibe to an intriguing mystery. There were twists and turns I didn't see coming. And just when I thought I had it figured out, I didn't! The story kept me guessing right up until the end. This was such a great story and Jessie is such a talented author! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

What do you get when you cross a haunted hotel, connected with a couple of deaths, with a group of teenagers and a reality show? The Summit has been the gathering place for Amanda, Vince, Cole, and Mallory ever since they were 5 years old. Now that they’re 16 and have had their own issues to contend with (a mom in jail for murder, a sister being proven innocent from murder, and striving to be rich and famous) they reconvene for a final time for one last hurrah. Unfortunately, yet another death occurs at the Summit and instead of a carefree summer together, the group is thrown into a murder investigation, which they need to solve before they are accused themselves. Multiple suspects, multiple murders, multiple lies. This story will keep you guessing until the very end. Highly recommend for readers who enjoyed One Of Us Is Lying and Truly Devious.

I stayed up later than any teacher should on a weeknight to finish listening to this one! I know it’s a regularly used approach in writing reviews to mention similar texts (especially popular titles), and I actually find that strategy a little annoying. However, I’m breaking my own rule to say that I feel certain that fans of _We Were Liars_ will also love this one. There’s just enough mystery to keep the reader on his/her toes, but the mystery is accessible enough to keep the reader guessing and engaged!

Lie Until It’s True was a fun little mystery with flawed friendships and some social media content thrown in. I will read Jessie Weaver again.

Genuinely couldn’t put this book down. Lie Until It’s True has everything a reader could ask for: mystery, intrigue, romance, ghost stories, and true crime. I read this book without realizing it was a follow-up to Weaver’s debut novel, and now I know what’s up next on my TBR!!

Enjoyable tale of a group of friends and an adventure involving murder. I liked how everyone seemed guilty and you had to try and decide if they were guilty. Even close friends and family members can have trust issues when they are unsure if one is innocent. Great for YA and above.

Jessie Weaver’s “Lie Until It’s True” is a follow up to “Live Your Best Lie”. The novel centers around a billionaire who was murdered on Christmas just before his annual charity party at a prestigious hotel. A local artist staying on the property was arrested for the murder after being found holding the murder weapon. Open and shut, right? The police think so, until another murder occurs on the property. And one other thing: there is also a ghost roaming around the hotel.
“Lie Until It’s True” follows 4 teenage friends (Amanda, Vince, Mallory, and Cole) caught up in the murder mystery. They are convinced the police have the wrong suspect in custody because that suspect is Vince’s mother. To save her from a wrongful conviction, the friends go about piecing together the information they have until one of their own is also murdered. And the suspect in THAT murder points to one of them. Can the 3 remaining friends solve both murders? Read the book to find out.

This book has mystery, intrigue, jealousy, family dynamics, and betrayal with a little romance thrown in. Amanda has a TikTok account, kept secret from her family, so there’s plenty of social media posts thrown in. I felt as though the random posts slowed down the story a bit; it certainly didn’t help move the story along, and I found myself skipping those pages. However, the element of a ghost hunting show that was invited to the hotel to try to film the supposed ghost on the property served as a catalyst for the second murder, so although it was a secondary story line, it did have a purpose.

There are enough twists and turns in the mystery to keep teenagers guessing how both murders happened and who was responsible; however, adults reading it will probably be able to see where the storyline is headed. The romance between two of the characters has the typical denial of feelings until denial is no longer possible.

While I would not consider this novel a must have for library shelves, if a public or school library has a large population of teenagers who check out murder mysteries on a regular basis, then purchasing it would not be a bad idea.

I am thrilled to have received this ARC of Lie Until It's True. Weaver does a great job of relating to the young adult culture using social media, and the verbage from today's teens when she writes.
When true crime TikToker Amanda Pruitt spends the summer with her aunt who works in a possibly haunted historic hotel in Colorado she investigates a murder that seems open and shut. But, two crimes begin to collide, one past, one present.

Such a fun read! It kept me guessing until the very end. I love books that I don't want to put down, and this one definitely was in that category. I hope you keep writing books, Jessie!

What would happen if Nancy Drew was a social media influencer? Lie Until It's True gives us the answer. A teenager and her friends work to solve a murder before an innocent person is convicted, and end up wrapped up in more mysteries. The book starts slowly, but after the first chapter, I had trouble putting it down and finished it in one day. This book will interest anyone who likes mysteries, ghost stories, true crime, and social media.

First of all, thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Lie Until It's True. I wanted to like this one. The premise sounds great, and I remember liking the first book even if I didn't remember all of the details. Unfortunately, this book was one I set aside several times before finally pushing through. I struggled to connect to the characters, and I just think the author's style of writing isn't for me. So while I appreciate the opportunity to check this one out, it was a miss for me.

Lie Until It's True started off really strong and then the pace slowed down and I started to lose interest. I would recommend giving this a try if you enjoy a young adult mystery.

Is it possible that I love this book more than the first one? Lie until it’s True checks all my boxes: haunting, murder mystery, & romance.

Amanda falsely accused her sister and now she’s after redemption. But as she investigates murder with friends at the place she spent all of her childhood summers, she’s forced to examine her motives and actions while fighting for friendship and her life.

The characters in this book are relatable. The pace moves quickly and keeps the reader guessing until the end. Another fantastic book by Jessie Weaver. I can’t wait to read more!

Thank you to Jessie Weaver, Disney Publishing Worldwide, and Melissa de la Cruz Studio for the opportunity to review this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Lie Until It’s True is a great YA murder mystery. This follows Amanda, a character from Jessie’s first book: Live Your Best Lie. If you plan to read Lie Until It’s true I recommend reading her first book before reading this one because it is heavily referenced. Being a mystery, I spent the majority of the time reading this trying to figure out who possibly could have been the murderer(s). I was pleasantly surprised that I was unable to figure out the mystery. One person had briefly came into my mind as a possibility, but I never locked them down as the murderer. Being from Colorado and knowing the hotel and town this book is inspired by I was easily able to picture everything, but even without having known this Jessie does a great job with her imagery. The teens this story follows seem realistic as do their responses to trauma at a young age. Really loved this and definitely recommend to anyone who likes YA Murder Mysteries!

LIE UNTIL IT'S TRUE is a follow-up to Jessie Weaver's debut Live Your Best Lie, however you don't need to have read the first book to jump into this captivating YA contemporary mystery.

Two crimes collide, one from the past and one from the present, when true crime TikToker Amanda Pruitt takes it upon herself to solve a billionaire's murder and her childhood best friend's mom is the prime suspect. She journeys back to her childhood haunt, a luxurious hotel resort in Colorado, where she finds it really may be haunted, especially after she sees a ghost... or thinks she does. But more ghosts may start to haunt the grounds when Amanda blacks out, and then wakes up to find her frenemy dead and blood all over her clothes. Did she commit the crime? Or is there more to this mystery than meets the eye?

It's a tight mystery, full of characters you love to hate, and characters you want to see fall in love. The setting, a resort in the mountains, is super fun, especially heightening the feeling of isolation. You'll keep guessing until the last minute!

Thank you @NetGalley and @PenguinRandomHouse for the egalley of Lie Until It's True. Amanda Pruitt escapes to the mountains for the summer: to escape her sister who is NOT guilty of the murder she thought, to redeem herself, and to help her life-long friend whose mom is accused of murder. As she lives with her aunt and prowls the haunted mountain resort, she uses her TikTok fame to help Vince’s mom. Can she trust those she knows? Can she trust herself—especially when she blacks out and is accused of murder. Can she solve two murders, help her friend, save the hotel and avoid the ghost? An entertaining murder mystery for teens and all!
