A LITTLE BACKSTORY TO THIS SERIES
An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is the second book in the Ever After Street Series by The Nerdy Bookarazzi’s favourite author Jaimie Admans. Just to give you an insight on the Ever After Street Series, in this series Jaimie, plans on exploring all our favourite childhood fairytales with a modern outlook. This series takes place in a fictional place called the Ever After Street where a small community has multiple shops with Fairytale themes ranging from Aladdin, Sleeping beauty and what not?
The first book in the series is A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street, in this book the author explored Cinderella’s story which all of us from The Nerdy Bookarazzi absolutely loved and now in An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street, sure you all would have guessed it! It’s The Beauty and The Beast’s retelling. Yayy!!
It is a public knowledge that a lot of people have a conflicted relationship with The Beauty and The Beast story or all the Disney Fairytales for that matter, majorly because of the way in which all these females characters are built. But you will not have to worry about it in this series because Jaimie has got us all covered in that aspect.
First of all, let me tell you why I was excited about this book when Jaimie told me what the next book on this series is going to be. Well, it is based on The Beauty and The Beast so obviously there is going to be a lot of books and she said the lead character is going to be a Bookshop owner. Right after hearing this I was convinced this book is going to be mind-blowing and I would definitely love it. I was waiting for the launch eagerly for months and jumped at the first opportunity to read this book.
STORYLINE
An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is the story of a bookseller Marnie Platt. She owns a bookshop along with her mother who has recently passed away due to illness. Marnie while grappling with the loss of her mother, has to also save her crumbling bookstore from going out of business. To add on to her plight, she receives an eviction notice from her landlord as her negligence in maintaining the garden area which has attracted a lot of complaints. While struggling to come to terms with her mother’s death and boosting the daily sales of her bookshop, will Marnie be able to save her beloved bookshop and revive the garden to its original beauty as it was?
Marnie buckles under the pressure and realises the enormity of her world currently being out of her control. Surprisingly she finds help from her so called “Scary Neighbour” who has always been aloof from Ever After Street and its neighbourhood activities. However, he only offers help over a ledge as tall as the walls he has built around himself. The conversations Marnie has with her Scary Neighbour become her pillar of support during this time and she leans on him without ever having seen him. Will she be able to break through the hard exterior that he has created to protect himself (or others) from the beast inside?
THE NERDY BOOKARAZZI’S TAKE ON THE BOOK
The book being based on a renowned fairytale held no surprise ending but still managed to keep us engaged with its interesting take on the world of a small bookshop owner, and the path of healing the main characters were going through. This book highlights challenges and realities that a small bookshop owner might face during this era, where they have to compete with E-commerce giants who offer books for much cheaper rates and have a monopoly over the industry. The only way these little bookshop owners can stand apart is by providing amazing real-life bookish experiences to the readers which every reader craves for in this digital world. This book allows us to understand the foundation of what connects booklovers and it also encourages the bookshop owners use their stores as a safe haven where booklovers can form a community or space to connect over the universes created by their favourite authors.
The most notable aspect of this book is how the lead characters evolved and faced their emotional baggage and finally moved out of it. This is one of the major themes of the book which will have a lasting impression on the reader’s minds. Personally, one instance that shook the basement of all our belief system was the moment where Marnie gets to know her scary neighbour better and the ordeal he had faced in life, she wants to console him, saying it will be better, you should move on and all the other regular stuff we tell our friends and family when we are trying to console but she will consciously restrain herself from doing it. She believes all these consolations will only belittle the bad experiences and pain they’ve gone through in the past and that’s completely unfair. That line changed everything, it was like waking up from a trance and facing the reality for what it is. Jaimie subtly add these kind of strong psychological aspects to her books effortlessly which resounds like a thunderbolt.
When it comes to books, bookstore, bookish ideas infiltrated into books there’s nobody who can do it better than Jaimie Admans. If you are a bookshop owner, you should read this book and The little bookshop of love stories, the ideas in these books will help you boost the business and the readers crave that their favourite bookshop would come up with something like this. All the bookish references will make the readers run crazy with nostalgia.
The characterisation and the development of the Scary Neighbour next door was phenomenal. Both Marnie and Scary Neighbours character was on point, the author knows all her characters inside out that at no point any of them reacted or behaved out of character. This was absolutely remarkable because we come across various books where there will be no consistency in the character which would make the reading journey ponderous. This happens majorly because the authors themselves don’t know their characters well or they take an extremely long time to write the book and as a results sometimes the authors tent to forget their characters if it is not meticulously planned beforehand.
In the world of external beauties and amount emphasise is given on how someone looks, walks and carries themselves, through this book the author had enhanced us to see what the most vital things of all – the heart, character, intent and manners, which will make an individual look beautiful.
Generally Jaimie’s books focuses a lot on the sense of community, how people help each other no matter what. This book is no different, every shopkeeper in the ever-after-street is a sweet heart with the heart of gold. After reading her books you will want to see the good in everyone. It is a the kind of positivity everyone needs in life and Jaimie‘s books never fails to feed the readers will happiness and positivity.
It is definitely a good read if you are looking to heal your heart and fill your life with happiness then we would strongly suggest you go on this ride to Ever After Street with Marnie, we are pretty sure you will not be disappointed.
Our rating for this book would be 4 out of 5 stars
⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a nice little read! I really loved the very last line of the boo; I think it finished the story off perfectly. Sometimes the fairy tale cheese was a bit much, but I guess that's the whole point of the book. Looking forward to book number 3.

Another delightful contemporary spin on one of our favourite Disney favourite princess stories. The setting is enchanted, the character are flawed, and the storytelling is heartwarmingly emotional. Sometimes you just want to fall in live with falling in love and that is exactehat the Enchanted Street series does for us with all the castles and balls you can desire in a way that makes sense in a modern day fairy tale.

𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱…. Only this is an excellent read. Completely lovely and heartwarming. This is another book that has made my heart swell and improved my mood.
This is completely charming and definitely full on Disney vibes. Marnie is completely brilliant, as a character I have loved her so much I’ve wanted to envelope her in a good cwtch.
Admans never fails to transport me to the pages and this is one I didn’t want to put down. I devoured this in just one sitting. Everything about this book has been perfection and comforting in ways only an Admans book can do.
I love that the bookshop is named ‘Tale as Old as Time’. It’s no secret that Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney film so even this link has made me smile. I can safely say I was pulled in and unwilling to put this down.
This is a book I didn’t want to end. It’s been brilliant from beginning to end. An Admans read is always a pleasure. This is an author who gets better and better, every book has elements to make you smile. However, this is quite possibly my new favourite.
I have no hesitation in recommending this gem to others. An absolutely gorgeous read.

A really lovely story, of acceptance, kindness and romance.
Marnie has lost her Mum and her enthusiasm for a bookshop which was always her dream to run with her Mum. The flower shop next door is ran by a man known as "Scary Neighbour" who is hiding a secret. Scary Neighbour is actually called Darcy and he helps Marnie with her garden at the back of het shop, what follows is a story of understanding, friendships and acceptance for who we are no matter what.

I would recommend Jaimie Admans new book, An Enchanted Moment on Ever Street. Wonderful story for everyone to enjoy. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy reading!

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Another brilliant read from Jaimie.
Marnie has shut herself away and her bookshop is taking a hit. Marnie needs help to revamp the bookshop’s garden to try and increase footfall. Her neighbour Darcy wants to help but must keep himself hidden. Why does Darcy continue to keep himself hidden especially as his friendship with Marnie starts to bloom?

Marnie, grieving the loss of her mother and struggling to keep her failing bookshop afloat, finds unexpected kindness from her reclusive neighbor, the owner of a flower shop. As they bond over tea and roses, Marnie's ideas for revitalizing her business begin to take shape, and with his support, she starts to see a brighter future. Set in a charming bookshop setting and inspired by Beauty and the Beast, this modern retelling weaves together heartfelt romance, captivating characters, and a warm community, making it a must-read for romance enthusiasts.

As a big Disney fan and a big Jaimie Admans fan these books speak to me. I hope there are many more in the series. As I am thoroughly enjoying them. This time was the reimagining of beauty and the beat and I loved it. Make sure you don't miss this one.

I loved this romantic book. Its brilliantly written and felt all the love and emotions. It gives such a warm feeling.

Marnie Platt is struggling to cope with her mother's death and the decline of her beloved bookshop on Ever After Street. When she meets her reclusive neighbour Darcy O'Connell, they form an unlikely friendship that helps Marnie find her sparkle again. With the support of old and new friends, Marnie's bookshop begins to thrive, but she can't understand why Darcy continues to isolate himself. As they spend more time together in Marnie's enchanted garden, they both begin to heal and open up to the possibility of love. A heartwarming tale of friendship, healing, and the power of love to bring people together.

Lovely sequel to book one! Did not disappoint.
Another lovely heartwarming light read that will fill you with joy.

I've been a fan of Jaimie Admans' books for a long time and this latest book did not disappoint. This is the second book in her Ever After Street and it's like a modern day Beauty and the Beast tale. The story of Marnie and Darcy is heart warming and it's lovely to also hear of the other characters we met in the first book. This is another wonderful book that feels just like a warm hug from a dear friend.

What a beautiful story, Jaimie has done herself proud with Book two on Ever After Street. I read part on the Kindle as I patiently waited for the Audible to be released. I loved mentions of renowned Romance Authors such as Heidi Swain, Jessica Redland and Holly Hepburn, the authors love for the online book community is clear and wonderful.
Marnie runs the Bookstore ‘A Tale As Old As Time’ with her cat Mrs Potts. In the times of Online Shopping the store is not doing incredibly well, and things get worse when she receives a letter about her messy garden.
The shop next door is run by the streets resident Beast ‘Darcy’ whom no one has seen without face coverings and has the temperament of a growling beast.
By some coincidence Marnie starts to befriend him by chatting in their respective gardens.
Whilst the book is very much about a love of books and developing friendships, can Marnie help her shop neighbour overcome his demons and anger?
Will he welcome the residents of Ever After Street into his life and more to the point will she manage to locate and invite her favourite Author U.N. Known to her book event?
Will her ex get the message that it’s over? So many questions, you’ll have to read this 5 Star read to get the answers, there are so many beautiful pay it forward moments and ways Marnie encourages friendships.

An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is the second book in the Ever After series by Jaimie Admans and an absolute delight to read! What a treasure this series is. This story is pure, undiluted joy with it’s fairytale themes, feel-good, inspiring messages, lovable, good-hearted characters, and slow-burn, swoony romance.
An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street follows a Beauty and the Beast theme with bookish Marnie who is struggling to carry on with her bookstore after her mother’s passing. The bookshop, A Tale as Old as Time, was a shared dream with her mother and Marnie is feeling lost and lonely without her. After receiving notice that her attached garden needs to be cleaned up and business needs to improve in order to renew her lease, she finds herself overwhelmed and crying in the mess that was her mother’s garden. When her “Scary Neighbor” who hides from everyone, and growls at anyway who attempts to engage him, offers her comfort and much-need help in his gruff manner, the two tentatively begin a fragile friendship.
Learning the backstories of both characters is impactful and touching, and watching them build trust and a genuine friendship is heart-warming. Though the reader will probably guess some of what is to come in the story, some may still come as a surprise and the unfolding of the story is a sheer pleasure to read anyway. This story has some potent, powerful messages and lessons, and the conclusion of the story will leave you with a smile on your face and hope in your heart. Jaimie Admans is an auto-buy author for me. When you’re in need of something uplifting and encouraging, she’s your author!

Jaimie Admans writes some of my favourite romances in the genre. Her heroes and heroines are always so authentically flawed and so *real* that you feel you would meet them on the street and become best friends. The Beauty and the Beast vibes in this new fairytale make for a gentle story of longing and acceptance. From the get-go, I loved the clever way Admans worked in the popular tropes of the genre and sprinkled her story ( roses, etc.,) with nods to the popular mythos around this tale. Absolutely swooned and fell hard for this which contains so much of my catnip! Protective hero! Misunderstandings! and a small, familial community that just loans to the world's coziness. I want to live in this book.

This is such a heart-warming feel-good read.
Ever After Street sounds like a dream of a place. All of the shops are fairy tale themed including the wonderful Tale as Old of Time book shop.
Book store owner Marnie is still grieving the loss of her mother. Running the shop together was their shared dream and she has been lost ever since. The shop is struggling and Marnie has lost her sparkle. Things come to a head when she receives a complaint about the state of her garden, and with the shop’s lease up for renewal she needs a plan to get it sorted.
Next door is ‘The Beast’s Enchanted Rose Garden’ a florist filled with beautiful roses. The owner is the mysterious Darcy, he hides away from the customers and even Marnie has never seen him in person.
I loved the developing relationship between Marnie and Darcy. Both of them are lonely and lack confidence. Darcy encourages Marnie in her plans to make her mark with the bookshop and helps her with the garden revamp. She helps him rekindle his love for reading and overcome some demons of his own.
This is a bookworm’s dream. Lots of bookish references, a wonderful literature festival and real passion for literature shines through the book. The characters are all so likeable you will be rooting for all of them and wishing for truly fairytale happy endings.
There is so much in this book to make you smile. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved this modern day beauty of the beast. I definitely could not put this one down. I have already started recommending this book to family and friends.
Thank you so much NetGalley for this ARC!

An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street by Jaimie Admans is a witty, uplifting and emotional tale readers will thoroughly enjoy.
The bottom had fallen out of Marnie Platt’s world when her mum had passed away. Shutting herself off from the world and from everyone who cares about her, Marnie’s professional life is also going from bad to worse as her bookshop on Ever After Street is barely turning a profit and the shop’s garden has gone to rack and ruin. Having lost so much already, Marnie doesn’t know what she will do if she loses her business, but help could be at hand from her very own Mr Darcy…
Her neighbour Darcy O’Connell likes to keep himself to himself. Reclusive, brooding and aloof, Darcy prefers to keep other people at bay, but when he hears of Marnie’s predicament, he decides to help her out and the two start spending their evenings together bringing the bookshop’s garden back to life.
Darcy’s kindness helps give Marnie a reason to get out of bed in the morning and a chance to heal and regroup after all she’s been through. As the two begin to get closer, will Darcy and Marnie allow themselves to be happy again? Or will the past continue to exert its hold over them?
An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is a gorgeous tale of renewal, second chances, the power of community and falling in love that effortlessly touches the heart and will make readers laugh and cry. Jaimie Admans has penned a compelling, romantic and feel-good tale brimming with hope and humour that is a struggle to put down and I cannot wait to return back to Ever After Street!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have read several books by Jaimie Admans but this was my absolute favorite. I have enjoyed all of her books, but this one was even better than the others.
