I pretty much loved this book from page one. I was really glad the part of the story with Flora's husband's public betrayal was dealt with right away because we know it's coming. It also got the book off to a quick start. All of the women in this book are on their own journey, but those journeys often overlap with one another too. Patsy is already on her way to discovering a new side of herself, but what pushes her to take on the hotel project is her desire to help Flora find herself again. Lola's desire to reconnect with Kate overlaps with Kate's preparation to become a mother herself. And Kate and Flora both needed their best friend back as they started on their "new" lives. I wasn't sure what to think of Lola at first - I certainly understood why Kate felt the way she did about her. Although Lola could have handled herself differently in the past, I did come to really like her by the end. And a lot of that was because the author spent time on developing her as a person who acknowledges that she has made mistakes. The one part of the story I thought needed a little more attention was the reconciliation between Kate and Lola. We know what each of them has been thinking that leads them back to one another, but that conversation never really happens between them so that they each know. The chapters from Jacques and Richie's POVs was a pleasant surprise. I liked the parallel that each of these characters was setting out to Sandycove to find their partners and also getting to know a little more about their feelings towards Kate and Lola. Jacque's reaction to finding out about the baby and getting there just in time to be a part of the delivery was one of the sweetest parts of the book. I especially liked that he had already set out to find Kate before finding out she was pregnant. I would have liked just one chapter from Justin's perspective - just to know how miserable he was in prison (he most certainly deserved his fate). And on that note, I was a little disappointed in Richard's decision to take back Sandra, mostly because I wanted her to be miserable too for how she treated Flora. I enjoyed each of the storylines here but I think Flora's was my favorite. I just really liked how she picked herself up and (with the support of Patsy and Edith) found her joy in life again. And of course, I loved following her relationship with Killian as it went from employee/boss to friends to something more romantic. This book is such a joy from start to finish.

I absolutely adored this book! It was so up,if ting and positive. Everyone goes through hard times and makes mistakes. This book is all about second chances and making the most of your life. The writing is incredible. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I just loved this book. This is an author that I have not read but thanks to the publisher for letting me read this story. I have found a new author that I enjoy. The main characters, Lola. Patsy , Flora and Kate were great characters. The story is set in Sandy Cove Ireland.Kate stayed with Patsy and Flora when Her mother, Lola, traveled the world with a band The islanders. Kate felt like her mother chose the band instead of her. When she was old enough she left Ireland and traveled. Flora, Patsy's daughter , gave up her designingto get married. See how all of this turned out. Will be going back and reading some of this author's books and looking forward to reading the her next one.

This my first Sandycove story and I loved it. Warm, relatable characters and an uplifting heartwarming plot, it left me with a smile on my face and a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. The story was told brilliantly from the different Pov’s with each woman having a distinct voice. Really enjoyable.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of The Girls From Sandycove by Sian O'Gorman, published by Boldwood Books
This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and I just love these stories. I previously read The Sandycove Sunset Swimmers
The characters in The Girls From Sandycove are amazing, well developed and described and likeable, you can picture them clearly in your mind. I liked the plot, the story flowed well, I just wanted to keep reading to see what happens next. Loved the happy ending for all
Flora is Patsy's daughter, they live in the small town of Sandycove. Flora is married to Justin and really wants to start a family. Her best friend Kate, who is currently living in France and dating Jacques has decided to come back to Sandycove
Another phenomenal feel good book, loved the characters, mother daughter relationships, family coming back together.
I love the author's writing style, the story just flows like your not even reading, just absorbing. I will absolutely read more books by Sian O'Gorman

What a wonderful, loving, uplifting story from Sian. I've loved all the stories from Sandycove and it was my absolute pleasure to return and I'm really looking forward to returning for the next lovely story, thank you

The third book in this series, set in Ireland and is a good family and friends saga. 4 stars

The Girls from Sandycove by Sian O'Gorman
Four women are in Sandycove and at a crossroads in their lives. Flora discovers her husband has been having an affair, and her widowed mum Patsy has just finished a course on interior design. Can they summon the courage to move forward in their careers and relationships? Flora's best friend Kate leaves France when she discovers she's pregnant and her mum Lola, a famous singer songwriter living in California, returns to Sandycove to try to mend the rift in their relationship.
What a beautiful story of friendship, mothers and daughters, and community - I absolutely loved it! And I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to move to Sandycove?! I loved all the characters and the supporting cast of people in the community too - funny, poignant, thought-provoking and a really good story. Very VERY highly recommended.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

A cute, quick read, set in an idyllic small town. The third in a series, this novel showcases the relationships between mothers and daughters and all that entails.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in return for my honest opinions.

Set in a small Irish village, this book tells the interwoven story of two sets of mothers and daughters. It was very good, well written with a strong cast of supporting characters as well. The storyline was good, and kept my interest.

Firstly thank you Netgalley for this Arc
Brilliant book set on Ireland if you love family saga this will be right up your street

The Girls from Sandycove follows two best friends and their moms.
At a bbq Flora finds out that her husband has been having an affair with his best friend’s wife. While Flora finds herself with no home, no husband and no future, her mother Patsy is following her dreams of being an interior designer.
Flora’s best friends Kate finally comes home pregnant and confused on where she wants her life to go. No better reason to come back to her hometown. Little does she know, that her estranged rock star mother Lola, decides it’s time to make amends after losing her soul mate and best friend Paulie.
At first I was not excited to be reading from four different POVs, it’s normally not my type of book BUT I loved all four of the woman and enjoyed reading from their POV. I really enjoyed The Girls from Sandycove. It was my first book by Sian O’ Gorman and she didn’t disappoint. I did realize there are more Sandycove novels and I’ll be going back to read them.

This is the third novel I have read of the author’s that is set in Ireland in an idyllic village called Sandycove. Each book is a standalone as we meet a new cast of characters. It’s a beautiful place that is easy to envision and readers will fall hook, line and sinker in love with it.
The chapters alternate between four women, Flora, Kate and their mothers Patsy and Lola. It’s very much about mother and daughter relationships. Flora and Patsy have a very close relationship whilst Kate and Lola’s is estranged due to Lola living in the limelight as a singer with her work putting distance between the pair.
I liked all four women as we get to know more about them and their lives. Each have come to a bit of a stop in their lives and trying to work out what comes next. There are a great cast of characters in the village who add even more to the enjoyment of the story and it really warms the cockles of your heart. Along with the relationships between mother’s and daughters, there is also some romance thrown in for good measure.
The Girls from Sandycove is a gorgeously uplifting story that left me with the most wonderful feeling. I could feel a smile lifting on my face the closer to the end I got as I had enjoyed the novel that much. The sense of community spirit and the bonds between the characters was heartwarming and I wished the story could have carried on as I loved my recent trip to Sandycove. A story and characters that will steal your heart!
