I loved this book so much. As a DC native I pictured myself walking the streets of DC and loved those moments. The redemption of Ryan could have been more fleshed out, and I’d hoped for more from his reunion with Alison. Overall though I loved the time overlap and thought it was very entertaining.

This was one of my most anticipated reads for the summer after enjoying Night Shift a few summers ago. There’s A LOT going on in this one, and to say it kept me guessing is a bit of an understatement. I was hooked from the beginning and flew through listening to find out it what was going on. Lots of moving parts means lots to tie up and I was impressed with how it all came together.

That being said, there were some triggers I felt - and if bullying is one for you, be aware.

Alex Finley is quickly becoming a new favorite thriller author! This book was packed with mystery and intrigue surrounding the revisited case of a missing woman. You follow several main characters stories of them looking for answers when new evidence in the case arises. Each character brought depth to the story and the story flowed in a cohesive way. It kept me on my toes with plenty of turns.

Excellently unwound mystery as the story builds. This was a spellbinding story of a girl gone missing without a trace which is later to be considered another loss in a serial killer's murders. Yet a new clue is found a decade later and secrets are revealed... So many ties and connections I felt the need to keep notes! This should be on everyone's list for fans of Alex Finlay, truly one of his best books.

5 years ago, Ryan witnessed his girlfriend Ali kidnapped without any memory of what happened that night. 5 years later, while Ryan is on a school trip, he sees someone that brings up flashbacks of what happened that night. The book is written from 3 different perspectives with each story equally being exciting and a mystery. At first these 3 different characters don't seem to have anything in common until the end. Alex wraps up the book nicely with all loose ends explained. The author does an amazing job being distinct and clear about each story and I was rooting for each one. I would love to see more stories from Poppy as her strength and personality was fresh.

Ooh, I always enjoy a book from Alex Finlay. He writes the best edge-of-your-seat thrillers! I know once I start one of his books, I won't be able to put it down until it's finished. This was certainly the case with If Something Happens to Me!

Ryan Richardson is currently in Italy for a college school trip when he gets a call that his old girlfriend's car has been discovered. His girlfriend and her car disappeared one night years prior after a bizarre incident involving the two of them. This begins a fun adventure as Ryan seeks to discover the truth of what really happened that night and what happened to his girlfriend. We also get the POV's of a young sheriff's deputy working the case and a mysterious mobster in Philadelphia. This is a nonstop ride that ends with a huge bang of an ending!

Poppy has just started a job as a deputy at the sheriff’s department in her hometown. She is almost immediately put on the case of Allison Lane, a girl that was presumed dead when she disappeared years ago. The story believed was that she was killed by a serial killer, but when her car is found with 2 dead men inside that theory no longer fits. There is a lot more going on than Poppy could have ever imagined and she will have to put all her skills to the test to get to the bottom of this one!

Shew! This book is full of characters and story lines, but when they all come together it is magical. Finlay does an amazing job of tying everything together after taking the reader down an exciting road full of twists and turns! I loved it!

After what feels like slow burn thriller after slow burn thriller for my recently, finally something FAST paced that truly kept me on my toes the entire time. This is my first Alex Finlay novel but I can see why people are saying this sealed his place as a top thriller author.

Five years ago Ryan Richardson was in a car with his girlfriend when she got abducted. For five years, he's tried to remember what happened that night, but also has tried to forget his past and move on from the girl he was in love with.

When Alison's car is found in the bottom of a lake in their hometown, the emotions of the case are ripped wide open again. Two dead men were found in the car, but no signs of Alison other than a note, "If something happens to me..." Ryan's hopes are up once again that Alison might be out there - if only he can find her in time.

At the beginning of this book, I was struggling to keep up with all of the different characters and plots happening. But I was absolutely amazed by how well the author pulled together all of the details so seamlessly. Definitely hang in there if you have trouble in the beginning, it's worth it.

I can't say I expected a mafia murder mystery to be such a highly rated read for me, but I could not put this one down. Almost every chapter ended with a cliff hanger and I found myself saying "Just one more..." time and time again.

Holy cow!! Alex Finlay became an “automatic read” author for me a few years ago and If Something Happens to Me definitely solidified that. This book was fast paced and I flew through it. I was very surprised by some of the twists and loved the alternating viewpoints.

Alex Finlay is an auto buy author for me and I was so excited to get an arc for this book. This book started off strong and had me guessing from the get go. Full of mystery, twists and turns. I highly recommend this book.

This is my first novel written by Alex Finley and I felt like it was to my advantage. I went into my reading blind with no expectations. The premise is slightly unrealistic, narrated from multiple points of view and did become confusing. However, once I slowed down, the puzzle pieces started to fit together. The plotline is fast paced, has some elements of predictability, but overall I did enjoy the quick read!

*I started this novel reading the ARC Ebook, then I received the Audio and the narrator did a wonderful job! The multiple points of view were easier to understand audibly.

This book was really great. It had twists and turns that I never expected. The protagonists for the most part were likeable even though it took me a little bit to figure out who is who and what some of these "older" stories had to do with the current story.
Awesome job by the author to weave everything together and give the reader a nail biting story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a hard time putting it down to get some work done!

This was a wild ride and I was totally here for it! I didn't expect those last couple of twists at the end and I love that. The fact that this had a happy ending made my heart smile. I can't wait to read what Alex Finlay puts out next! He is on my always-read list!

This is a very fast-paced thriller that grabbed me from the first page. The plot is about a missing teenage girl and the boyfriend that lives in the shadow of her disappearance. A trip to Italy brings a new question about that night and Ryan must find out the truth to clear his name. I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this story and although I found the action to be a bit constant for my reading taste, it really kept me guessing. I think this will be a hit with thriller readers this summer. By far this author’s best work yet!!!

Such an intense and excellent read! I had read two of this author's books previously, but this one blew those completely out of the water!

Five years ago, Ryan and his girlfriend Ali were parked at the local "Lovers' Lane" spot when someone suddenly attacks them. When Ryan regains consciousness, Ali and her car are both gone. Ryan's life was forever changed. Though he was never charged with her murder, his reputation was permanently tarnished.

Now, Ali's car is found along with a mysterious note.

This was Jason Bourne meets The Sopranos. I did a combo read and listen and devoured this book within 24 hours. The character development was top notch. Tangled plot lines that all come together for a jaw dropping ending!

Top thriller recommendation and a great summer read!

Popcorn thriller that was a fast propulsive read involving the disappearance of a teen girl, the Italian mob, and complex interconnected relationships. This was easy entertainment while I was reading it but not likely to stick with me.

This was my first Alex Finlay book and I was not disappointed! It was such a fast pace book about a girl who is missing and presumed dead. I really loved that it had multiple povs. It really helped in moving the story along. This was a great quick and easy read. It had so many twists and turns and I read it within a day! Can't wait to read more by this author!

Wowww this one was very good! Lately, I have not been loving Alex Finlay books, but this one really took me back to how I felt after "The Night Shift," which is the only other book of his I've enjoyed. Super fast-paced, compelling POVs, and a lot of action that kept me intrigued. The law enforcement/detective POV is a trope I've been really enjoying! While this book is not life changing, and I could foresee the "twists" near the end, I had a really good experience with this book. If I could change anything, there were a lot POVs to keep track of overall.

✨ Have you ever seen an item somewhere that seemed really out of place? What was it! ✨

This book was such a wild wild ride! There were quick chapters, with many landing on cliffhangers. There is a multiple POV storyline which does make you pay attention for the twists. It was enjoyable as I normally love multi POV, fast pace and chapters I can easily come back to.

The only reason this wasn’t rated higher for me is the storyline isn’t one of my favorite topics. I tend to like more psychological thrillers than action packed thrillers but this book will be perfect for an action packed thriller lover! Just my personal taste.
