A lovely Christmas romance set in a town near Christmas Mountain. Michele knows she needs to work on getting her dream job, not just earning a living, when her boss gives her just the right push in the right direction….

Michele enjoys waiting tables at Danica's, but she had always dreamed of planning events. One day she saw a meme that said, "If not now, when?" She keeps thinking about it, and decides she is going to decorate the restaurant for Christmas. After she does this, her boss says he needs to talk to her after her shift it done.
When she goes to see him, the event planner he had for the charity event, wasn't going to be able to do it anymore, so he asked Michele to take over. She didn't think she was qualified, but he told her that she could do it.
The meme was always in the back of her head, and we get to go with her as she finds out how this one quote can change her life. It was fun being able to go along with her as she discovers the things she can do for the first time, how she grows as a person, and opens her heart and mind to the possibilities that lies ahead.
I received an ARC from Hatco Publishing through NetGalley, and I enjoyed going along on this part of her journey.

Independently published novella, pubish date Nov 2023 ... just in time for the holidays! You can breeze through this 100(ish)page novella in an afternoon of wrapping presents or decorating the tree. (I love the read aloud function on my tablet. I'm ok with Siri's voice doing the narration.)

Michele is a waitress in Montana and she has had a crush on the owner/boss for a long time. She has also had a desire to be an event planner. Guess who has the opportunity to go all out this Christmas?

Susan Hatler has written dozens of books, I'm sure that I've read some before ... but it was before I was so diligent with recording books on GoodReads. This is my first review for a Susan Hatler novel/novella. Many thanks to NetGalley for introducing me to an author I've been neglecting. Thank you to NetGalley and Susan Hatler (who independently published this novella) for approving my request to read the advance read copy of The Comforting Christmas in exchange for an honest review.

A delightful and romantic Christmas story!

Get yourself comfortable with a nice cup of hot herbal tea to stay warm and get ready to read this sweet, well-written and romantic novella. Perfect for an afternoon read!

I don't know why I love stories set in Montana. I could easily imagine seeing the characters set in the small town of Whitefish portrayed by this new author Susan Hatler. I really enjoyed ‘The comforting Christmas’ with her two charming characters Michele and Dylon. I haven't read the other stories in the Montana Dreams series, but still understood the context.

This novella tells the beautiful story of Michele, a waitress, who has a dream of becoming an event planner. Dylon, Is the owner of the restaurant where she works. He asks her to plan a benefit dinner and she accepts this new challenge. As they spend times together planning, they suddenly realize that they were meant for each other. Dreams do come true and love in the air for Christmas in this small town of Montana. A very delightful women’s fiction to read!

I received an advance review copy for free from Hatco Publishing and NetGalley and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Comforting Christmas is a sweet romance between two wary characters. By Susan Hatler it is evident that they want to find love but are unsure of it being lasting. Number eight in the Montana Dreams Series., Michele has drams, dreams that she has not persued. Now is the time with restaurant owner Dylan giving her a push in the right direction.

Michele and Dylan are charming characters who find the love and future that they hoped for but seemed to believe might never happen for them. The epilogue was the finishing touch on a lovely Christmas story.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a complimentary digital copy. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, my personal opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is definitely comforting. Not a cross word (really), not a blip and nothing nasty to dash Dylan and Michele’s happiness. This is cute and timeless, all about empowering Michele and making her believe in herself. A delicious dinner event and a tearful family reunion all add to the affect. Perhaps a little too perfect and sweet, but always better that way.

Waitress Michele dreams of becoming an event planner in her quaint mountain village. When restaurant owner Dylan recruits her to organize a charity dinner, she knows it's her big career break. Yet without credentials, she worries she'll fail her hardworking boss. As they collaborate, they grow closer, stirring long-buried feelings.

This sweet, low-angst short story offers romance and Christmas magic. It's a nice way to get in the mood for the holidays.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
