One woman linked to two murders in her desire to rule a crime family.

Tom Broadbent disastrous burglary causes him to see his ex-wife's help after witnessing a murder. Cornie runs a successful catering business and becomes a suspect when her dead ex-husband's body is found in her van. Cornie's friends band together to prove her innocence. The discover a crime involving illegal merchandise. Detectives link Venetia's murder with two others after solving the crime.

Frances Lloyd's eleventh installment of Detective Jack Dawes Mystery series was very entertaining. Detective Crump serves as a comic relief since he is determined to pin the murder of her ex-husband on Cornie with no real evidence.

I recommend this book.

A great read packed with fabulous characters, twists and plenty of humour! My first book in this series and I enjoyed it very much.

Frances Lloyd’s writing flows really well and makes the book easy to read. Corrie and her friends are brilliant at sleuthing and although we knew who had killed the victims, we are treated to Detective Crump’s “expertise” in actually finding the motive and evidence to make the arrest.

4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Frances Lloyd and Joffe, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This is part of a series with the same detective. I was unaware of this but is now making me go back and order book one!

The characters are great and I found myself reading this quickly in order to find out what happens! The plot turned and twisted and had you guessing as it went.

It is worth reading!

Corrie is the main suspect in her ex-husband's murder. Her husband is a detective, but he is removed from the case so Corrie and her sleuthing friends try to prove Corrie's innocence.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The book was a page turner with the right mix of drama, crime and even comedy. The characters were great, and I loved them all. The story was engaging and well developed. I highly recommend this book!

This was my first book by Frances Lloyd so I'm unsure if I'm missing anything in the series but I did enjoy overall and would read more in the series.

A Series Of Murders..
The eleventh outing in the Detective Inspector Jack Dawes series of mysteries and another wholly enjoyable entry to the series. When a series of murders strikes in the area Jack is on the alert and, as usual, Corrie inadvertently finds herself amidst the chaos. When Corrie becomes a suspect, and underworld gangs abound, Jack needs to pull out all the stops. A well drawn cast of eclectic and credible characters populate a swiftly moving, compelling plot and an engaging narrative. Perhaps the best of the series to date? A one sit, most entertaining, read.
