This is the second in a series but can easily be read as a standalone. We continue with the story of Daisy and Theo and life at Wildflower Lock. I enjoyed the book, just not as much as the first one.

I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.

This uplifting romance follows Daisy May who has just started a new life living on a boat at Wildflower Lock.

She is starting a new coffee shop on her boat to try and make some money as she no longer has her job, and with the help of her neighbour Theo her plan seems to be going to ahead.

However, one disastrous night looks to ruin her business before it’s even had a chance.

When a mysterious but generous stranger comes into her life with possible answers to her problems, she is torn between a friendship and a new love.

Will Daisy manage to continue her plans for a coffee shop? Will she work out who she truly loves?

This romance is just what you need with plenty of romantic moments, and a few cringy moments as Daisy tries to work out who to continue seeing.

The idea of her coffee shop on her boat sounds like a lovely idea, and the setting sounds beautiful.

Both love interest characters are charming and lovely in their own way, a difficult choice for Daisy.

Overall, an uplifting romance where Daisy struggles to deal with issues with her business and love life.

Oh, I’m so sad that I didn’t love this follow up as much as I loved the first book in this series.

When we last left Daisy and Theo, she had made the decision to keep her canal boat and to open a coffee shop on it, as a way of making a living - not to mention the first full hints of a romance blossoming between the two. I knew there would be hardships along the way, especially with setting up the coffee shop - which there were - but oh I was so let down by the romance aspect of it.

Daisy, frankly, became incredibly frustrating. What I loved about the first book was the balance between the realities of doing up a canal boat, set alongside the beautiful waterways, with the ongoing romantic tension with Theo. The romantic tension was still there at the start of this book, just for one of my least favourite tropes to come along and take over a majority of the book - the dreaded love triangle.

Which meant I never really got those lovely cosy vibes that the first book gave me - there were either stressful things happening to the boat and the coffee shop, or I was becoming incredibly frustrated with the romance plot and the actions of Daisy.

Sadly the last chapter didn’t perk me up much either, as it introduces another trope I’m not particularly a fan of, and brings in a swell of new problems. I was quite hoping to just see the two of them happily together, and I’m sure that will come along eventually, but I’m no longer so sure I want to continue on through the struggles.

I will say, however, that it is still a brilliant representation of life on the waterways, the good and the bad, and I really appreciate it for that, even if the overall plot lines were no longer my cup of tea.

A lovely sequel to the first in series!

Daisy May is now the proud owner of a beautifully renovated boat, her new home and business. With her credit cards up to their limit, her coffee shop is finally ready to open. Her friendship with neighbout, Theo, is growing stronger each day and there is definitely potential for romance there. Just when it seems life is on the up, disaster comes along in the shape of a stag party who create havoc all along the lock with Daisy May's boat coming off worst of all. As she's despairing of ever getting things sorted, along comes Christian, her too-good-to-be-true saviour. He not only gets her back on the path to success, he seems to have widened that path . . .

I have been a fan of Hannah's writing for quite some time and I'm thrilled that she has the publisher that she always deserved. This is a lovely series centred around Wildflower Lock; I know virtually nothing about life on the water and these stories have kept me focused all the way through. With plenty going on both on and off the river, there is always a reason to keep reading and I just flew through this one. A thoroughly good read, very entertaining and a series I hope will continue. Five sparkling stars and my recommendation.

This is the second in a series BUT it works as a standalone too. I got enough of the back story and loved this easy read and I’m going to get book 1 and 3. Lovely read that kept me guessing.

My second read in this series and I'm excited for the third. Coffee and Cake at Wildflower Lock is a cozy romance (closed door spice). It tempted me to pick up and live the canal boat life in the UK. Grab a cup of tea and enjoy!

This was a delightful heartwarming read. I didn't realise that it was the second in a series, but that didn't matter as the backstory was fed smoothly in. I really liked Daisy and her friends, and the idea of a coffee shop on a canal barge. What a super setting. The story kept me guessing and I couldn't make up my mind who Daisy would choose, Theo or Christian. I'm going to read the first book in the series now and look forward to the third.

This was just ok for me. The dynamic between Daisy, Theo and Christian was just way off. Daisy’s friends seemed a bit obnoxious as well. Lack of romance is part of the reason for my rating.

Another visit to Wildflower Lock and a very good story to go with it. I hope there will be a third book in this series as it has been a real pleasure to read this. 5 stars.

I am loving this Wildflower Lock series, and especially enjoying Daisy May and the continuation of her story from the first book.

I do think it can be read as a standalone since the background is definitely included, which worked as a good reminder for me on the whole too as to what was in the previous book.

Daisy has now decided to open up a coffee shop on her house boat, for everyone that visits the lock and to hopefully earn her some much needed income. But right from day one it seems like she has cursed bad luck. It it isn't one thing, it's another. I know they say bad things come in threes, but I think it was more like a multiple of three!

In amongst it all though she realises if she can keep the shop open, there is definitely a customer base, and at the same time her love of art is reborn too. Through that she meets Christian, who really turns her head.

Which is awkward given she seems to be running scared as to what could be happening with Theo, who is still fabulous.

I really was torn as to which man I thought Daisy would end the book with, I knew which one my heart desired but wasn't convinced at times that she was thinking the same way. I also really enjoyed getting to know Daisy's friends better too.

I do though think that this is perhaps the middle of a trilogy at a guess of books featuring Daisy, as I have this suspicion there is more to come from her, as she continues to adapt to life on the canal. What I do know is given how much I am enjoying this author's writing of this series, I am 1000% eager to keep reading more from it.

Another wonderful adventure with daisy and theo! This new series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The setting is different and fun, and the plot is believable and enjoyable. Its happy but realistic, swoony but down to earth, and downright delightful.

Mini Review: This book was delightful and held me captive. The characters are well written and has a well developed plot. I’d love there to be another book following the two main characters storyline.

I loved the main characters close friendship. The growth and development of their relationship. Also how Daisy learned to trust in herself, believe in herself and go after what her heart desired.

I very highly recommend this book!

This was a really lovely follow on from the first one. All those yummy cakes and the trials and tribulations happening on board the boat. Can't wait for the nest one to come out. What a lovely story with a bit of drama and a lot of romance! Daisy inherits a boat that is moored at Wildflower Lock and this inheritance comes at exactly the right time for her. She decides to open a coffee shop from the boat and with the help of Theo, who lives on a neighbouring boat, gets her new business up and running. However there then follows a series of mishaps, the arrival of handsome Christian and her growing feelings for Theo for her to contend with. This is the second in the series and although I hadn’t read the first one that really didn’t matter. Great characters and a beautiful setting this made for an easy read that I lost myself in. Giving a change to occupation and life can lead to happiness or chaos. Daisy has some of both. She can't make up her mind about romance with her men. And her coffee shop is on hold thanks to a bunch of drunk guys and money. Love how she puts her life back together and gets everything back on track on Wildflower Lock. The author can write a great story that keeps you wanting to read to see how the romance will end and who she will pick.

This is the second book in his series and after enjoying the first I couldn’t wait to get stuck in and read his in practically one sitting. I love the characters and the setting of these books. It could also be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading book one first for full enjoyment.

I love how the setting of the book and the characters transport you to a whole new world and made me wish I was living daisies life on the houseboat or having a walk along the canal purchasing a coffee from her coffee stand.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series to see how the characters of Daisy and Theo and the inhabitants of wildflower loch develop.

Unbearably sweet and the perfect second installment of the Wildflower Lock Series, COFFEE AND CAKE follows Daisy May as she starts to her newest ventures-- opening a desperately needed coffee shop aboard her canal boat and finding love in expected, and unexpected, places.

Similar to the first book, COFFEE AND CAKE is a quick read, but what I love most about this series is the exploration of life on narrowboats and Daisy May's tenacity at working towards her goals (with a little help every once and a while)! A great choice for a spring read, I can't wait for the next installment of this series!

This is my first read by Hannah Lynn and I also see it's the second book in the series. Despite being the second book in the series, I enjoyed it a lot and don't feel like I've missed any understanding of the story. Our main character Daisy lives on a houseboat she has inherited on a canal. She has a startup business, a coffee shop and she's gung-ho to get started serving customers and learning how to make these specialty drinks that make these coffee shops so popular. She also enjoys art a lot and has sold a few paintings but nothing serious minded, she just dabbles in it and doesn't expect to make a lot of money doing this. Without the funds to run the coffee shop she feels her dreams slipping away then she has the perfect opportunity to showcase her art at a fundraiser and she jumps at the chance never expecting to be half as popular as it was. The houseboat dwellers aren't really friendly, but she meets another houseboat dweller named Theo and they have a friendship and feel very comfortable around each other. Theo is down to earth and always encouraging of Daisy. When she meets the man who will help her with the fundraiser her head is turned. He's a flashy dresser, handsome and seems to have an endless supply of cash. He seems to also have Daisy's best interest. When both men are vying for her attention, she feels confused and not sure who to choose in this dramatic love triangle. I wasn't sure who she would choose because she seemed to be enjoying the attention of both men before one gives her an ultimatum. I am so glad she chose who she did because I saw red flags in the one gentleman's behavior. A fun and energetic book that leaves me wanting to read more by this author. I also enjoyed the setting of the story taking place on a houseboat. A floating coffeeshop, how neat is that!

It was great to be back in Wildflower Lock again with Daisy. This was a nice, easy read. One thing I wasn’t sure about was Daisy’s treatment of the two men. That did turn me off of her character a little bit.

However it was a lovely read. I loved the location and the idea of a coffee shop on a canal boat. I felt that the ending was very abrupt so let’s hope there’s another one in the series!

Right when I found out this was a second book in the series, I went and read the other one first! I am so glad I did and recommend to read the first one.

Let’s just start off with I love Daisy May and her friends. I already can’t wait until the next one comes out!

After inheriting a boat and fixing it up(first book) Daisy May decides to quite her job and open a coffee shop out of her boat. Of course like always issues will arrive. I also love Theo 🔥

I just love this series. It’s light hearted and an easy read. I got so sucked into them, I read both of them in two days.
