I'm quite surprised that there isn't any reviews for this amazing adventure!
This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Hats off to this one.
Although I've never liked crossword puzzles this will keep your interest. It did mine.
I liked Carrie's determination to bring this guy down.
Twists and turns that I never saw coming and I'm sure Carrie didn't either.
I finished this book in a day. It was very good. But, then again anything that Woodhouse writes is good.
I'm always ready to try anything new and I'm glad I did this one.
I'm ready for the next one please.
5 stars for an excellent adventure. I highly recommend.
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Book 2 in the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series, you’ll first need to read book 1, 26 Below. And believe me. You’ll want to.

A thrill from page 1, make sure you bundle up because it’s cold in Alaska and you won’t be leaving once you start this book. I read it in one day; I just couldn’t put it down.

Carrie is an incredible character. Strong, determined, and new at her job. And Scott. Scott has never been in such a dangerous job; it’s not what he signed up for by doing Cyber Security. But together they have to find this killer before more people die.

Fast paced, intense, and full of twists and turns. Nothing is as it seems and I found myself suspecting everyone. This is a must read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

I've only read historical fiction by the author and after hearing such good things about the first book in this series, 26 Below I knew I had to read this one.
The suspense starts right from the start taking you on a nail-biting wild roller coaster ride. With crossword puzzle clues this adds an original twist.
Once you start reading this adrenaline rush don't plan on stopping til it's over.
Looking forwards to the next in the series.

Wow! It began with 26 Below and now, there's a thrilling addition to the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series. If you want a heart-pounding race to find a psychotic killer, in a story that will keep you turning the pages, grab a copy of 8 Down NOW!

I'm a long-time fan of her historical fiction novels, but author Kimberley Woodhouse's venture into psychological suspense is extraordinary! I loved the characters, the Alaskan setting, and a peek into the work of both the FBI and the ABI (Alaska Bureau of Investigation). The ticking-clock suspense, the baffling crossword puzzle clues that the serial killer uses to taunt the authorities, and the portrayal of a demented mind are all absolutely chilling!

But wait...there's also sweet romance, a powerful faith message, and a cliffhanger message in the epilogue that promises even more thrills ahead. I recommend 8 Down to all who enjoy inspirational romantic suspense.

I received a digital advanced copy from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.

This is my first book by this author and in this series. I would highly recommend starting with the first book of the series as they are highly connected. They aren’t necessarily a cliffhanger connector, but you should still read the first one for full effect as it is highly relevant. This is a Christian investigative mystery. We are set in Alaska and we have their investigative service along with the FBI. There is much in the cyber crimes angle with hacking. There is definitely a Criminal Minds feel in the profiling aspect, though we did not have to experience much in the way of gore and descriptive death scenes and aftermath. It felt new and fresh to me. I really enjoyed this read and I would be thrilled to read more by this author.

I received an ARC of this book via #JustReadTours and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Kimberley Woodhouse is deviant and terrifying and brilliant. I could stop my review there and have the book summed up nice and succinctly. But I won't.

She had my heart racing, my brain pinging, and my thoughts whirling. I did not want to put this book down, and in fact, only did so I could sleep. But will I sleep well after finishing this? And with my tinfoil uniform already well-fitting? Doubtful. Will I whole-heartedly recommend that everyone who enjoys thrillers read this? One hundred percent!

Plan to read this book in one sitting, and don’t expect to look at crossword puzzles the same way ever again! The clues continue to come, but the answers seem to be just beyond the grasp of Carrie Kintz and her coworkers at the Alaska Bureau of Investigation. People are dying, yet no cause of death can be found. A mystery that needs to be solved or more will die.

How much of our life is centered around technology? Could we survive without it? These are questions you certainly will ponder once you have read this incredible book. Regardless of how safe we feel, evil still abounds in this world. What would you be willing to give up in order to have more personal control over your life?

An early copy of Alaskan Cyber Hunters Book Two was received through Kregel Publications and NetGalley. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.

Terrifying! There is a serial killer on the loose using the internet and hacking to kill people at random. No one is safe. Thankfully ABI agent Carrie Kintz and Cyber Security agent Scott Patteson are on the case. The killer hacks online crossword puzzles and uses the 8 Down for his clue as to what type of killing will happen next. This is the second book in the series, 26 Below was the first, you don't have to read it first but it does give background on the militia group and madman that is behind all of the killings and his motive. This book takes place in Anchorage and the previous one was in Fairbanks.

There is plenty of action and suspense and intrigue with some romance and faith. Definitely and edge of your seat story.

Holy moly is my first reaction as I turned the pages of this action packed book. It kept my attention to the very end!
We live in the day where cyber security is so very important. After reading about the cyber attacks that happened in this book, it gives me chills down my back. There are lots of what ifs!
Attack after attack is happening and people are dropping like flies. Carrie and Scott are joining forces to try and catch the killer before he strikes again. The suspense builds with each page that I turned. Mrs. Woodhouse does a phenomenal job of keeping your attention and keep you wanting more.
I would highly recommend this book if you are a lover of suspense and cliffhangers.
I was given an ARC of this book and these are all my own opinions.

Wowee, crac-a-zowee! 8 Down is amazing! I haven't read 26 Below yet, but now I wish I had. These books can work as a standalone, but I don't recommend it. Mostly, because 8 Down continues the story from 26 Below and ends with a cliffhanger, leading to the next book. You won't want to miss a single moment. I loved the crossword clues at the beginning of each section and chapter. If you can figure them out on your own, it adds so much tension to the story. My pulse was literally pounding! The villain in this book is a serial killer, so it has more bodies than some romantic suspense, but it was all done tactfully and tastefully. 8 Down is far more intense than scary, but will keep you on your toes the whole way through. It will chill you to the bone when you discover how vulnerable our society really is. Don't miss this amazing series! I highly recommend these for fans of romantic suspense and lovers of police dramas, disaster movies like The Day After Tomorrow, and Hallmark's Crossword Mysteries.

8 Down by Kimberley Woodhouse had clever ideas, and solving the crossword clues along the way was fun. I loved the reminders to trust God and look to Him in times of trouble.

I was provided a copy of the book from the author/publisher. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.

Wow! Another edge of your seat, fabulous romantic suspense from Kimberley Woodhouse! After reading 26 Below, I couldn’t wait to read 8 Down. In this story, the cyber attacks continue, but they’re being carried out by a serial killer who uses the 8 down in crossword puzzles to offer clues to his next victims. He’s claimed to have killed eight people already and threatens to kill eight more. It’s up to newly hired investigator Carrie Kintz to find the killer before the body count increases. She relies on the help of seasoned cybersecurity expert Scott Patterson, and as they work together, they find an instant connection that leads to more.

This suspenseful mystery thoroughly hooked me from the first page. The killer’s particularly clever and I enjoyed how each chapter was prefaced with the 8 down crossword puzzle clue he uses. It was fun trying to see if I could figure them out. His crimes are chilling not only because they occur in Alaska in winter, but there’s no way for the victims to protect themselves. The murders seem to occur at random and are nearly impossible to prevent. The killer thrives on taunting Carrie which makes things even more intense. I enjoyed the way Carrie, Scott, and their team worked together to figure out the clues. Everything culminates in an exciting, nail-biting conclusion.

I loved Carrie & Scott! They were a great team who worked so well together. Their relationship developed pretty quickly, but was believable with the amount of time spent together. It added some lightness to an otherwise intense, suspenseful read. There’s also an element of faith naturally woven throughout the story.

Though this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading 26 Below first. There are recurring characters and situations which are better understood if you’ve read the first book. Now I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! Highly recommend to romantic suspense fans! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided. 4 1/2 stars!

8 Down takes off from where the first book in the Alaska Cyber Hunters series left off in 26 Below. I loved so much about this book and enjoyed it even more than the first in series.
Probably what I loved about the book the most was the setting of Anchorage, much of it in my neighborhood. There are MANY books being published about our state and I have started a few and stopped because it was clear the author didn't understand our great state. Kimberly Woodhouse has lived in Alaska and writes about it with a love and understanding of our geography and culture.
The suspense with a little romance was balanced well in 8 Down. With ABI agent Carrie Kintz and team trying to find the madman who is starting a militia to kill innocent citizens and overthrow the government. Each murder is done differently and so it makes it impossible to know how the next victim may end up dying.
Woodhouse's use of crosswords at the beginning of each chapter and woven through the storyline was very creative and another aspect that makes this suspense book stand out from the rest.
I would recommend reading 26 Below first to get a good grasp of the events previous in Fairbanks. I am looking forward the next one in this series.
I was given a complimentary copy of 8 Down thanks to Kregel, JustRead Publicity and Net Galley, but all opinions are my own.

I didn’t know this was part of a series. However it didn’t affect the book for me. It’s a fairly fast moving book.
It keeps you guessing to the end. It does make you think about cybersecurity. Definitely recommend

8 down follows book one, 26 below. Though you should be able to follow without 26 below, I found it personally better to have known the backstory of 26 below.

The plot of the serial killer who leaves clues to the investigators in the 8 down word puzzle clues was something different and thrilling. Readers who also enjoy solving crossword puzzles will love solving the clues throughout the book (the answers were all provided at the end of the book).

Carrie and Scott’s relationship was sweet and felt realistic. I could see the boy meets girl and wants to start dating thread being realistic, but then throw in a serial killer they also must deal with, and the pace immediately speeds up.

I did not really like that the author killed off a character I was liking, but not everything works out as you want in real life as well.

8 Down is the second book in the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series. While you may be able to enjoy this as a standalone, I definitely feel like you will get the most out of the story by reading this one in order. The stories are connected and reading both will give you the best overall picture as to what's going on.

Whew, what a read! First of all, I think anytime the author lets us see into the mind of the bad guy, it adds a certain element of creepiness to a story... which is definitely true here. Aside from that though, this series deals with cyber-attacks... it's quite frightening to think of all the ways a cyber-attack could occur with the devices we use every single day. This again adds to the creepiness of it all. This book is clever and thrilling... and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Throw in a romance and it's definitely a wonderful read that I really enjoyed. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, leaving me anxious to see what will happen next.

If you enjoy Christian suspense, you will definitely want to add this one to your TBR.

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All opinions are my own.

8 Down by Kimberley Woodhouse was a better suspense story than her first novel in the Alaskan Cyber Hunter series, 26 Below. My biggest issue with 26 Below was the lack of urgency by the characters. It did not seem the most important item to them to solve what was coming. This time around, Woodhouse crafted the characters who really worked hard at solving the clues and was frustrated as the body count kept climbing. The suspenseful element was handled nicely. I enjoyed the crossword puzzle clues. Unique, yet thrilling. Characters were nicely developed. They had the deep wound they needed to explore and overcome. The characters fell in love as the story moved along. The scary part about the whole story is how simple the tricks that the villain did to kill others. All the cyber attacks could happen at any moment. Shows how relying on technology for so much of our modern life could be a very bad idea. There are moments of spiritual enlightenment for the characters but as life choice, not in the preachy sense. Overall, 8 Down by Kimberley Woodhouse is a thrilling suspense novel. Plenty of moments of rushing and coming to the climactic moment. The next book in the series is called 70 North, and I am looking forward to reading it.

I received a complimentary copy of 8 Down by Kimberley Woodhouse from Kregel Publishing through JustRead Tours, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Oh wow, I loved this one more than the first one! I could not put the book down, or I wished I hadn't had to put the book down. It grabbed me from the first scene and would NOT let go.
First of all, if you haven't read 26 Below by Kimberley Woodhouse, make sure you do before you read 8 Down. Also, you may not want to read this review until you do.
Like 26 Below, 8 Down takes place in Alaska, this time the focus is in Anchorage as opposed to Fairbanks. As the reader, we can see how the crimes in this story connect to the previous book, seeing as 26 Below ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. The protagonists and the world think they have captured the mastermind, however, we know better.
This second book in the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series has two new protagonists whose point of view we see the story through, Carrie Kintz from the ABI and Scott Patteson who is Jason’s friend in Anchorage that we hear about in 26 Below. And we are again seeing part of the story through the villain’s eyes.
In this story the villain looks a lot like a serial killer to our protagonists as he has an M.O. of giving hints about his kills in crossword puzzles, all in the 8 Down position. These deaths take place due to hacking taking place. And let me tell you, it is so diabolical how this villain just doesn’t care about anyone, and the amount of everyday devices that can be hacked to end a life. This psychopath appears to be going off the deep end with all his killing, and not caring about who he (or is it a she?) kills in his plan. And of course our heroes don’t really know what the villains plans are at first, and aren’t even aware of all the deaths that are connected to him/her. They just know he keeps contacting them, and is definitely after some sort of notoriety.
There is suspense, and there are twists, and there is a love story as well, along with spiritual truths.
If you are a fan of suspense and trying to figure out clues, you will want to get your hands on this book, or actually, this series.
I can’t wait til the next book comes out. 8 Down is definitely a book I recommend.
I received an e-copy of this book through NetGalley as a member of the influencer team and was not required to write a favorable review. These are my own honest thoughts.

This thriller kept me on the edge of my seat and then some! Between guessing clues and trying to unravel the mystery. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.
