Caroline is on top of the world, a best selling author and self help guru, making appearances on talk shows - when suddenly it seems like her entire life is going up in flames, both personally and professionally.
This book is a lovely read, if quite sad, and sometimes melancholy. It is something of a love letter to Cape Cod.

Caroline, a famous life coach and author, is publicly cheated on by her husband. As if couldn’t get any worse, her former mentor, Devorah, finds out the book that made Caroline famous is her original idea repackaged. With news of Devorah’s lawsuit picked up by the media, Caroline decides to go back to her hometown to explain things to Devorah. Along the way, they form or even rekindle a friendship.
I was intrigued by the premise of a celebrity life coach immersed in scandal. Devorah was a tough but lovable character and I was most invested in her happiness. There is a romance subplot that felt rushed and not necessary to the story - the best scenes are the ones with Caroline and Devorah interacting. 2.5 stars.
