I enjoyed this romance. Colin is epically swoon worthy and a top-notch heart stealer. As for Truly, my feelings were much more a mixed bag. Sometimes I liked her...and sometimes not so much. Still, I did like them together as a couple and I liked reading their story.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. I really loved the bi representation. I especially loved the conversations of bi erasure when in a hetero-passing relationship. Colin is also a great MMC. However, that is really where the positives end for me. I found Truly to be insufferable. She is incredibly immature, cannot make up her mind, and frankly leads Colin on constantly throughout this book. He deserves better. I cannot get over the Parent Trap plot with her parents and that as a late twenty something, Truly put so much of her own stock into the success of her parents' relationship. I also felt like a lot of the relationship building between Colin and Truly was lost to too much emphasis on spice. Sadly, I think this book was pretty poorly written and really didn't have the emotional elements and relationship building I look for in a good romance.

This book is just so adorable and swoon worthy. I absolutely adored Truly. She was just such a delightful character. Her stubbornness and chaotic energy brought me joy. She’s unapologetically herself, which I love in a romance heroine. Colin is also extremely well drawn, with plenty of depth despite not getting his perspective. The plot moves along nicely, with a handful of hilarious shenanigans and plenty of heart. Bellefleur knocks it out of the park once again.

This one was extremely spicy with a lot of banter. I would have read it in one sitting if I could. Another classic for Bellefleur.

REVIEW: Truly, Madly, Deeply, ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Truly, Madly, Deeply was my first read from Alexandria Bellefleur, and it didn’t disappoint! Truly is a romance author who believes in happily ever afters. That changes quickly when she catches her fiance cheating on her and finds out her over-the-top romantic parents are separating. Then Truly is asked on a podcast to talk about romance advice. She is paired up with Colin, a family law/divorce lawyer, and chaos begins.

First of all, I really enjoyed Bellefleur’s characters, Colin and Truly. They were both written with strong backstories and depth, making me understand the characters and their choices. I also love the evolving relationship between them. I’m a sucker for good enemies-to-lovers and opposites-attract tropes, and this definitely filled that for me. They also had some of the best interactions together. They had many funny moments where they would tease each other and have great banter back and forth. You could also tell that Colin and Truly genuinely cared for one another with many check-ins and sweet moments. Then their spicy moments, wow, they were intense. They had great conversations about things they liked while still having some very heavy, heated moments. Lastly, I loved that Bellefleur had LGBTQ+ representation with both Colin and Truly. They are both bisexual, which you don’t see often represented in stories.

There were a few things I wasn’t a big fan of. First of all, the premise makes it sound like the podcast is important to the story, but by a certain point in the book, we hear nothing more about it. Also, the conflicts in the story were pretty minor and seemed to tie up pretty easily, so there wasn’t as much drama or a problem to solve as I would like.

Overall, I love Truly, Madly, and Deeply, and I will definitely be reading more from Alexandria Bellefleur!

I have had mixed emotions about Alexandria Bellefleur’s books in the past, but I can honestly say that I really enjoyed this one in spite of my many qualms. I have a weakness for a bisexual, bratty simp of a male love interest and I do think that carried this book for me. The main character was much less likable and I found her issues with her parents’ separation to be quite shallow and lacking in a lot of self awareness. I think the book would’ve been much better with a more thought provoking, relatable internal conflict. I also wish the surrounding characters were better developed, but they fell quite flat for me.

That said, the chemistry of the main characters was really great and I did find myself laughing at the relatable awkward blunders of their early interactions. The sex scenes were delightfully atypical to the other books I’ve read and very tailored to the characters’ dynamic. That to me is enough to keep me interested in Bellefleur’s novels going forward.

I was hooked from page one, this is such a well written romance novel and the banter between the two had me hooked. A female romance novelist that stops believing in love and happily ever after. After her fiancé of 6 years cheats and her parent separate, but the divorce lawyer that got off on the wrong feet keeps bumping into her everywhere she goes.

4.5/5 stars

I just finished reading this book last night and it was so good! It’s definitely my new favorite book by this author.

The story was told from Truly’s POV, except for the epilogue which is in Colin’s POV. I do wish we would’ve gotten more chapters from Colin’s point of view though. I also really enjoyed Lulu and Caitlin and I wish we would’ve gotten to know them a bit more as characters.

This book was without a doubt her steamiest book yet and these two were like “beds? Who needs em.” 🥵🥵🥵

In the last couple months, I’ve become very anti third act break up and I am pleased to say that this book had some conflicts at the end but no actual break up and honestly, I just need all romance books to be like this from now on.

Truly, Madly, Deeply starts with a meet-cute turned meet-disaster and the chaos never ends and never ceases to be entertaining. I was cracking up at the tangles Truly and Colin get themselves into and enjoying their banter the whole time. While I thought I knew what to expect from the premise, I ended up being surprised and loved it. My favorite Alexandria Bellefleur so far!

You had me at hello. This book was so good.

Colin and Truly meet on a podcast giving relationship advice to people. They bicker to the point where he accidentally insults her and bam that’s the end… until he begs for her forgiveness.

Colin and Truly together got me giggling and kicking my feet in the air. It’s a true “he falls first” trope since he was endlessly pursuing her until she said yes. Their banter was so fun and you could fell the chemistry.

Let’s not forget that he’s a golden retriever. He brings her favorite flowers after their fight and calls her best friend to get her mom’s recipe for chicken noodle soup when she’s sick. They are together through their up and downs (especially with their families).

I give this a 4/5 stars and should be picked up by anyone.

Arrived for the Steve Harrington face-cast, stayed for the most adorable and sassy disaster-bisexual duo.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Truly and Colin! Romance author coupled with divorce attorney (okay fine, family law) is a combination that probably wouldn't have worked, but once these two got their differences sorted, they meshed together so well! Also, I LIVE for subby-Colin just wanting to please Truly throughout the entire book.

I would note that for someone that seems relatively insightful to her parents' relationship, though, there were some moments where I personally clashed with Truly's reactions to what was happening with her parents separation; however, more often than not, I did find Truly understandable, especially since she is an only child and her parents completely hid any and all problems away from her until it was time for them to separate. Truly is layered and complicated, and she is perfectly imperfect and human throughout this book.

Colin is perfect. No notes. Maybe more short shorts, if possible.

Would highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys queer representation, a simp MC, family drama, and all of the sassy and spicy banter!

As a huge Bellefleur Stan, this one fell a short for me... not due to the writing, banter, or steam, but just overall I could not connect to Truly (FMC) and the plot lacked an arc that held my attention. My favorite parts of this one are absolutely the hero, Colin. Wow, I'm pretty much a goner for him- his wit, intelligence, confidence, root volume, moles, queerness- ALL of it (not to mention his Steve Harrington cover vibes!!). My complaints for Truly were on her immaturity/wearing blinders to her parent's and esteeming their marriage as being perfect and meddling into their separation period. However, if you enjoy queer and mental health representation along with sparkling dialogue and open door steam, I think you'll absolute enjoy this new romance!

3.5⭐️
loved the characters, and the representation, and the banter and overall this was a fun book but at the same time if it wasn’t for the banter, I don’t think I would’ve liked the book as much because not much really happened like the overall plot wasn’t really there unfortunately and it kind of got boring because nothing much happened and banter can’t carry the entire book, having said that, I would still recommend this book for those looking for a fun rom-com

This was a decent romance but I expected more from a book by Alexandria Bellefleur. I really liked Colin and found him to be a great romance hero and enjoyed the banter between him and Truly. I just found the romance to be kind of blah.

This was a fun read. It follows romance writer Truly and family attorney Colin, who meet when they record a podcast about relationships and love. They clash mightily, and when Colin tracks Truly down to apologize, sparks start to fly. Things are complicated when Truly's parents, her inspiration for all things love and romance, announce a trial separation.

Things I liked: bookishness, LGBTQ representation, spiciness.
Things I didn't like; the banter and characters in general felt a little forced and cringey at times. Truly's family annoyed me and Colin's was just unhinged.

Oh, the banter and the wit and the spice! I fell for the characters before I fell for the plot, but fall I did. The spice was captivating without going overboard into filth!

Alexandra Bellefleur’s books, for me, are always a good time. Truly, Madly, Deeply has been absolutely no exception to this - in fact, it might be my favorite of any of her books thus far.

I absolutely adored the banter between Truly and Colin, some situations within the story (the screenshot scene!) genuinely making me gasp & laugh out loud.

Out of five stars, I would give this a solid 4.25. I would have really liked to see more of certain characters, who seemed to seemingly vanish from the book at about the 60% mark.

Also, I think that labeling this as enemies-to-lovers was a massive stretch, considering that the “issues” that made the two of them ‘enemies’ were seemingly absolved very early on and only lightly approached again later. I feel like this genre, as a whole, has a challenging time with calling relationships enemies-to-lovers when it’s more like nuisances-to-lovers.

With that being said, I had such a good time with this book and enjoyed every second of it.

Truly Livingston, renowned as a bestselling romance novelist and relationship guru, finds herself grappling with her own love life turmoil amidst the facade of expertise she projects to the world. In "Truly, Madly, Deeply," expectations clash with reality as Truly navigates through her parents' sudden separation, a betrayal by her fiancé, and a shaken belief in love's enduring power.

While initially intrigued by the promise of a podcast series and the allure of Truly's world, I was left disappointed as the plot veered away from these elements early on. The subplot involving Truly's parents' separation felt disjointed and underdeveloped, detracting from the overall narrative. Despite moments of steamy chemistry and titillating dialogue, the connection between characters felt somewhat lacking.

Though the cover captivated my attention, the novel ultimately fell short of my expectations. While it may resonate with certain romance enthusiasts, it failed to fully engage me as a reader. My thanks to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to explore this title.

That was a pretty fun, low stakes romance. I enjoyed all the characters and I liked seeing the main ones fall for each other but I don't think it will really stay with me. I finished it less than a week ago and details are already leaving my brain. It was still a good time and I I had a lot of fun reading it. Can't wait for more books by Alexandria Bellefleur.
