✨ Thankyou netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc for a honest review .

✨ the book that will end the book series. The answers 🙌

✨ this is the third book of this trilogy and I May say that it was worth to read it all.

✨ Fern was still in Cornwall , had a baby and changed her identity while on the run in London . Day by day she live running away to get caught .
Alice is still in Inverness with a baby too and with the detective tomlin. She suffered postpartum depression and thinking of revenge on fern .

When Alice and tomlin had lead that fern is in Cornwall it’s time that she needs to be caught. But it turns out in different output .

✨ really worth to read and I’m glad it’s all done and finished.
At the end, fern is still at large, in France with her daughter and had a good relationship with Alice .

Daniel Hurst continues the intrigue with this 3rd instalment of the Doctor’s Wife series. Once again, he’s written a hard to put down, quick read. Reading the books in order is ideal but not crucial to enjoying the books independently.
The narration of the audiobook, by Luke R. Francis, and Sarah Durham, is well paced and easy to listen to
My ARC of the audiobook expired before I had the chance to get to the final chapters……I’ll be at the store, after the release date, to pickup a copy and find out how things wrap up for Fern.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio and Daniel Hurst for the opportunity to listen to and enjoy this audiobook ARC.

The Doctor's Mistress by Daniel Hurst and narrated by Luke R. Francis, and Sarah Durham is the third book in the Doctor's Wife series and this series has been 5 stars especially as it is an addictive psychological thriller with a breathtaking twist that will have you gripped from the beginning till the very end. I just loved it. Once I started to listen to The Doctor's Mistress I could not put it down.

The wife. The mistress. Who will get their revenge?

I was the other woman. The mistress. Everyone blamed Doctor Drew Devlin’s death on me. And I’ve paid the price for loving the wrong man.

What a start of a book.

I can't recommend this series enough....So sit back open your kindle of listen to your audiobook. It will not disappoint It is one of the best psychological thriller series out there.

This book didn't hook me, and I never felt very invested. I am so confused by the people saying this was fast paced and filled with heart pounding moments, because I found this so slooooooow. Girlies, if you thought this was fast paced, please take caution in reading books that are actually thrill rides because I don't want any of you having heart attacks.
Anyway. Overall the book was fine. The writing was fine. The characters were fine. I'm not mad about reading it, but not overjoyed either.

Thank you, netgalley

Fern and Alice have a contentious, if not murderous relationship. Why? Fern, the doctor’s wife, frames Alice, the mistress, for the murder of the doctor. Alice is out for revenge and hunts down Fern. This book is the third book in the Trilogy by Author, Daniel Hurst. Based on the numerous 5 stars he has received, he has quite a fan base.
I did not read the first two books, but this third book was largely a retelling of the first two with a good portion of the first half and very slow. I was listening to the audio version and it was hard to not skip ahead. However, the narrator was good and the ending was a surprise, if not somewhat unbelievable. Unfortunately, this book did not hit the mark for me. But thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this audio arc. This review is my personal opinion.

I have now listened to all the books in this series and Daniel Hurst writes them in a way that they could be stand alone but if you have read/listened to the others then its the story from the current person if that makes sense
So for example this is about the Doctors mistress perspective , The Doctors wife is about the wife perspective but they don't repeat and that's what makes these such a good series

Book #3 in Hurst’s series, this installment was also a quick read (listen) and keep me coming back for more. Although it lacked a bit in the shocking twists, I found this book to be just as enjoyable as the previous two.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc of The Doctors Mistress.

I loved book 1&2 and was excited to read book 3. But I felt the storyline was lacking this time, maybe it's building up for the next book but I really can't see what else there is. Will Alice and fern team up? Tomelin is annoying and what he did seemed random and out of place.

This book will work as a stand-alone but I highly suggest reading the first two books. I enjoyed the tension, the pacing, and the cat and mouse feel of this book. Daniel Hurst is just so talented at writing a book that you start and cannot finish until you know the outcome,

I really enjoyed the latest installment in the Doctor's Wife series, the previous and middle book named The Doctor's Widow.
This author is an auto-buy one for me, I have loved some of his other books, and I never need to read the blurb!
I was straight back into Fern's story, and didn't need to remind myself of the earlier events, as Hurst does the job very early on. I would definitely recommend reading in order, or you will lose so much of the brilliance of this series- and why would you deprive yourself of that?!
There were some events I expected, but some were great, and I remember gasping in shock at the drama unfolding.
I am so excited to see there is book 4 planned in this series, and you will see my review in May 2024!

This book was a good read, although not as fast paced as I’d have liked, it was still enjoyable and I am glad I’ve read it!

3.75ish stars

Wild! This story probably didn’t need a sequel, let alone to continue as a trilogy, but it was still interesting, and I did enjoy all of its melodrama. The ending seemed fairly conclusive, so I imagine this will be the end of the mini series. If it’s not, though, I’m sure I’ll check out whatever comes next as books by this writer have become a bit of a guilty pleasure.

This book is a standalone novel in a series, and even though I hadn't read the previous two books, the author provided a clear and detailed explanation of the events, allowing me to enjoy the story thoroughly. The lives of the doctor's wife and mistress intersect, and the author masterfully portrays their connection throughout the book. Both characters experience motherhood, but their paths diverge. The author's ability to keep me engaged throughout the book was impressive, and even though the story was predictable at times, the ending caught me by surprise. The characters were not particularly likable, but that did not prevent me from enjoying the book.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The pacing was fast, and there were a lot of plot twists that kept me engaged. I particularly liked how the stories of both women were intertwined and presented side by side. The exciting conclusion of the book left me with the impression that there will be a fourth installment, and I'm eager to see what Alice and Fern will experience next.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the advanced copy of the novel in exchange for my honest review.

This was a good addition to this series but for me this series has become predictable but still engaging to read!

Thank you, Netgalley for a free copy of this audiobook. My honest review follows-This was a pretty solid ending to the trilogy about the lying, cheating doctor and his resourceful and survivalist wife. You get mostly dual perspective between the doctor's mistress and the "black" widow, with Detective Tomlin playing an unexpected and farfetched role; but that gave it that Hurst flair that I expect and love. I thought he was going in a different direction for the ending, which I would have relished seeing play out, but that's ok. I enjoyed this one!

The Doctor's Wife & The Doctor's Mistress clash in this, the third installment in the series. Our main characters, Fern & Alice, have both been wronged in different ways. Fern was hurt by Alice's affair with her husband and Alice by being framed for his subsequent demise. Still, despite being on opposite sides of the doctor's life, we find the women in surprisingly similar places; trying to put their lives back together while raising a small child. When Alice finally learns of Fern's location, she races to confront her...... and finds herself in a crazier scenario than she ever could have imagined.

As with the first two books, I absolutely could not put this one down! This one is fast-paced, grabs your attention at the start and holds it throughout. I really liked seeing both characters in a different light outside of their relationship with the doctor. I thought I knew where the book was going but I was surprised by the end and really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't love about this book was that with both women having children almost exactly the same age and both woman living lives that they've started over, it was sometimes a little difficult to keep them straight so I occasionally had to stop and think about whose perspective I was listening to.

This is the third book in the ongoing Doctors series. And I usually advocate that you can read any book in a series, I do think this one is better read as part of the series. Without the history, I am not sure if this one will be as compelling.

Alice and Fern are back and I got to see what the two of them are up to. Alice is seeking out Fern to right the past wrongs and get justice, while Fern is trying to move forward and put her past behind her. The complex cat and mouse game continues, but can a common problem break that cycle.

I am not sure that I’ve ever like Alice and Fern, but can say I definitely don’t at this point, but I was all in for this continuing saga. Both women are strong willed and a little clever and I wanted to know who might eventually come out on top. While the books are short, over the series, I feel I’ve gotten to know the characters pretty well. I’m invested in the outcome. And the author is so good at shocking twists that I never see coming.

I’ve had access to the audiobooks in the series and this is perfect on audio. Luke R. Francis, Sarah Durham do a terrific job bringing the story to life. And the nature of it was perfect to listen to on my walks and while doing other things. The story is complex enough to keep my interest but not so overwhelming that I had to concentrate to keep the facts straight.

I would say there was a satisfying conclusion to this story, that I would never have predicted, but in pulling the details for this post, I see there is a fourth book in the series coming out next year. I can’t wait to see what the author has dreamed up now. And you have plenty of time to catch up on the series and be ready for this new adventure. Join the fun and pick this one up.

This psychological/domestic thriller can be read as a stand-alone, even though it's the third and final in the series, but it didn't hold its own ground as it could be. It's like joining a small high school as a senior and everything happened way before you start.

I was confused which character was who most of the time. They were both scorned women, both had babies, and both were just so so similar. I had to keep reminding myself which one was the wife and which one was the mistress. I know, I know. This book didn't get interesting until about 75% through but by then you're like...finally...things are happening! It somewhat redeemed the storyline.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a audio copy in exchange for my honest review.

Although part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone book, since you get the full backstory up front. I would say it's a suspense thriller of sorts, but sadly the story offers little in terms of mystery, or twists. Told from the PoV's of the wife, mistress, and the ex-detective, the story is able to provide each character's motivation effectively. I had the audio version of the book (thanks NetGallery and Bookouture Audio) and although I enjoy listening to these types of books, with the same narrator for both women (and since both women have babies) I was at times confused on which PoV I was listening to, so I think different narrators for the women would have been better. Overall an entertaining enough read, although on a personal level, I do prefer a bit more mystery and suspense.
