No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall is a psychological whodunnit thriller, told in multiple POV’s in the past and present.
The story revolves around three sisters (Juliette, Emma & Daphne), whose parents were murdered, and the lies and secrets the sisters kept from that day.
I tried to figure out who did what multiple times, but the ending had me completely wrong. Good story and would recommend. This book is available January 23, 2024.

First things first, I always enjoy listening to Karissa Vacker!
Kate Alice Marshall does a great job with teenage secrets and adult consequences. I’m not usually a fan of dual timeline but it was easy to follow the back and forth from what happened in the past as it was revealed in the present. Don’t read too many reviews— go into this one cold and discover the truth behind all the secrets and lies!
*Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the advance review copy.

No One Can Know is the story of three sisters raised in a dysfunctional family where everything looks perfect on the outside - but inside, not so much. Told in dual timeline it's a page turner whodunnit that kept me engaged especially with Karissa Vacker's narration. She's one of my favorites and delivers a fabulous performance.
A few TW: physical and psychological abuse, drugs and murder.

No One Can Know is the second of Mashall’s books I’ve read and it is just as addicting, thrilling and twisty as What Lies In The Woods. I devoured this in one day and my head was spinning from all the secrets, revelations and twists.
•
Told in multiple points of view through the three Palmer sisters, Emma, Juliette and Daphne. In the beginning I felt like I was a bit confused as to who was who, but that only lasted briefly. With each sister comes a new secret, one that once revealed will have you gasping. It’s also told in a dual timeline between the past, (before and leading up to their parents murder) and in the now.
•
This was totally gripping right from the start keeping my attention up until the end. I loved this fast paced, twisty and shocking story! There are a ton of twists at the end that will have you second guessing yourself. Be prepared to be unable to put this one down once you pick it up.

I was able to read and listen to this one. Karissa Vacker did a great job at narrating all three sisters, though I do wish this was a full cast. I thought the audio was well done and definitely recommend it.

What I Liked:
1. Story writing was good
What I Didn't Like:
1. All the men in this book are shit
2. I hated all the characters in this book expect for Emma
3. Yellow wallpaper yellow wallpaper.....
Overall Thoughts:
Imagine being mad at your wife for getting pregnant like she just made herself pregnant. If you got sperm you helped to make that baby.
The Ellis being an asshole to Emma.
Love that her husband spends a lot of time telling Emma to calm down. That's fun.
F jayjay. Why protect her alibi when she came in with a change of clothes when she said you weren't in the tree house
I feel like I've read a book like this before. The controlling and overly abusive mother that expects nothing but perfect from her children.
It was about 134 page that I started thinking that the father and elis were running a human trafficking ring.
Omg omg omg Nathan being a total jerk to Emma because she left the house to get something from the store and telling her she was cheating on him with Gabriel.
Emma get out - Nathan is toxic! He doesn't respect boundaries. He is abusive and dismissive.
Thank God Nathan is dead.
Boy you can tell Emma has been abused. She continues to blame herself for Nathan cheating and him treating her like trash.
I just updated when I finished chapters. I don't care enough about this book to go through and correct anything.
Final Thoughts:
This book just felt so disjointed. When you feel like you understand the motives of what the characters are doing it would feel weird and confusing. Nothing made sense. The fact that the sisters were so close and defended one another and then sold each other out but that Daphne killed her father to protect her siblings but then the mother took the gun from her.
Very basic thriller.
Thanks to Macmillan Audio for this gifted copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This one was intense! i couldn't stop listening! All them girls are crazy!
Three sisters, two murders, and too many secrets to count.
No one knows what really happened that night 14 years ago.
Emma, Juliette, and Daphne haven't seen each other since that night.
When they all come back to their hometown for different reasons they slowly learn the truth...
Thanks NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC of this CRAZY thriller!
No One Can Know
By: Kate Alice Marshall
Narrated by: Karissa Vacker
Publisher: Macmillan Audio
Release date: 01-23-24

This dark domestic thriller follows three sisters: Emma, Juliet, and Daphne. When they were teenagers, their parents were murdered, and, years later, the sisters completely lost contact. As Emma and her husband decide to return to her childhood home, she begins to investigate her parent's death and reconnect with her remaining family.
I found this book entertaining, but a little convoluted. There are quite a few characters that were, at times, hard to differentiate from one another. The middle third of the story dragged a bit and I was not super interested in any of the characters, I will say that the last twist of the novel was great - definitely worth pushing through the slower sections.

Oh this was good good. I’m two for two with incredible thrillers by Kate Alice Marshall and really need to make my way through her backlog. It’s got everything I like in a mystery and I had so much fun listening to all the events unfold. Never a dull moment, this book kept me locked in from the very beginning to the very end. I loved trying to figure out how all the sisters’ experiences and memories leading up to their parents death fit in together when so much of their recollection of that night contradicted the others. Filled with likeable and hateable (and some in the middle) I was kept guessing the entire time who I could trust and who I needed to be wary of.
The pacing was great and I don’t feel like any details or subplots felt superfluous to the overall story. The end did give me a bit of whiplash with several big reveals coming in succession (and a few overwriting what was previously stated) but overall I felt everything made so much sense while also being surprise.
Karissa Vacker has once again done a great narration as well.
Thanks so much NetGalley and MacMillan for an audio arc of this book. So excited for it to be out in the world!

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!
I was surprised how much I loved this book! The description sounded interesting, but this book sucked me in, kept my attention and had so many twists and turns along the way! This kept a fast pace, no slow burner here! So many little things came out that had me bouncing back on forth on the “who”. I was surprised at the ending as it wasn’t expected for me, tied things together nicely with the epilogue and didn’t leave things hanging. Overall this book was a great read!!

Three wealthy sisters and two murdered parents.
One sister is the prime suspect.
Did she do it?
Nobody is arrested and the case goes cold.
Yes, the book's premise was ultra-compelling.
Although I was intrigued by the book's premise, I felt that the book dragged and suffered from too much repetitive text.
I listened to the 10-hour audiobook that easily could have been an 7-hour audiobook.
Narrator Karissa Vacker did a superb job with the narration.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Engaging and immersive. A recommended purchase in all formats for collections where family thrillers are popular.

This started out strong but dragged in the middle with the ending feeling rushed. I wanted more and less at the same time.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC

The story is told from multiple POVs and a past and present timeline. Karissa Vacker is the narrator and brought the characters to life. She has such amazing tone, and does an incredible job with both female and male voices. There are so many secrets, twists, and family drama throughout the storyline. I didn’t connect with any of the characters and I do wish they were developed a bit further. The first half was a bit slow, but really picked up. I enjoyed seeing all the pieces come together and the ending really surprised me!

This was really good! Every single time I thought I figured out the who done it, another surprise was thrown in to throw me off and reconsider who I thought was behind all this.
I loved the sisters POVs from then and now and the things they kept from each other to protect one another.
Then just when you think it all wrapped up neat and tidy we get one more reveal. And I'll say that's the one I'd been waiting for the whole time. So I loved that ending.

I had really enjoyed Kate Alice Marshall's previous novel and I found this one to be very similar in spirit to that one as both relate to decisions made by teenagers re-surfacing later in life. I thought this was a quick read/listen and thought the narrator did an excellent job. The POVs and timelines alternate a bit but I thought the audiobook easy to listen to.
Thank you so much to Macmillan Audio for the ALC.

No One Can Know starts with a bang right from the get-go and doesn't let up until the final chapter.
I absolutely loved K.A.M.'s (adult) debut and was very excited to read this. I thought it definitely lived up to the hype for me.
These sisters are twisted for sure. I loved both timelines but the past was my favourite.
It was heartbreaking to read everything the girls went through with their parents that made them into the women they are in the present timeline. I also really loved the ending for Emma, JJ and Daphne. Regardless of what happened they stuck together in the end and love each-other fiercely.
My only criticism is these ladies sure do "wetted" their lips a lot 😂
🎧📖 note: Karissa Vacker is perfect as usual. She's 100% one of the best.
Thank you, Macmillan Audio for this advance copy in exchange for my review.

This thriller takes you through a journey with three sisters, two murders, and a ton of secrets, and overall I liked this book. The aspects of this book I enjoyed were: the flashback to the murders at the very beginning, the three sisters' POVs with dual timelines, and the narrator of the audiobook. The part I did not love was the second tragedy that happens in the middle of the book. It felt far fetched and unnecessary, in my opinion.

I had the pleasure of listening to No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall in advance of its publication.
I am pretty sure this is the first book I have read/listened to by this author, and let me tell you, what a ride!
I am a huge fan of the narrator Karissa Vacker. She earns a 10/10 in my book!
No One Can Know follows three sisters from their teen years through young adulthood. Oh, my goodness! There were so many twists and turns, and the author had me on the edge of my seat.
I don't want to put any spoilers out there. Just read it! Or listen to it!
I don't like "scary" and there were a couple parts that I kind of tuned out, but for the most part, it was a suspenseful, whodunnit.
I finished the listen in just a couple days, even staying up late, wanting to know who did it.
I highly recommend No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the advanced listen in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I went into this book blind and couldn’t stop listening. It was living in my head for days before I had a chance to finish it. I honestly couldn’t wait to finish listening to it. The book had me on the edge of my seat guessing till the end. I didn’t even see any of ending the way it did. Very well done. You won’t be disappointed. The narrator draws you right in. This is one book you won’t want to miss.
Many thanks to Netgalley & Macmillan Audio for the ARC
