Me and my children in enjoyed this story with all of the characters within.
It's about a girl that finds a fish and save it. The fish wants to thank her with a small wish.

This was a fun story to read or listen to. It had action and surprises throughout. The illustrations went well with the story and were colorful. The narrative on the audiobook did a good job telling the story.

I received an complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

This was a wonderful new experience for us as a family. This was our first time listening to a children’s book on audio. What a unique opportunity to share a story with my little ones. I do wish I had the book in hand to follow along with the audio. The narration was well done and so easy to understand. Then added in was music and sound effects really brought this story to life for us. We plan on buying the book so that we can continue this fun experience. The little girl saves the fish from the hot pavement. As a reward he offers small wishes. Soon she sees how her simple wishes and helping friends add up to big rewards. I highly recommend this wonderful adventure.

It was a cute story. Too hard to follow for my four year old without images to accompany it but I thought it was cute and might be good to revisit.

Sweet story of a young girl who rescues a fish and is offered a small wish, the narrative allows the girl to overcome her shyness on her own, without the use of wishes. The story demonstrates how often we can do difficult things to help each other, when we maybe couldn't do them for ourselves.

What a cute story and message. Kids often times face these different struggles in life and what a sweet book to help them through it.

The audio of this book was nice, the narrator read smoothly and expressively, and the additional sound effects were pleasant. I think, like many picture books, there is much more information to be gathered in the picture and this would be best paired with the actual story.

We all really enjoyed this delightful story. The audiobook had fantastic narrator, sound effects, & music. It all came together very well for a fun, engaging presentation. It is super short, only eight minutes long, but people of all ages enjoyed it. I would’ve liked to have heard an example of a small wish, but since this is a retailing of an old family memory, I think it’s appropriate to have left it the way it is. The story is a fable, and I love that interpretation of the moral is left to the listener. Children don’t need it spelled out for them, and can benefit from thinking that through themselves.

What a beautiful story! The fish says he can only grant small wishes but the little girl discovers her own power that she has because she is such a caring person.
Thanks to much to NetGalley for letting me listen to this. The narration is sweet and has a little music, so it is a pleasant experience.

I listened to this sweet story with my daughter, and we both agreed that the audio narration was great, with added music and sounds, but that it’s probably even better as a picture book.

It’s a short children’s story about a young girl who finds a wish-granting fish who ends up needing her help. In helping the fish, the little girl ends up fulfilling her own wishes. A sweet, positive story for any little ones.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the audio ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Make a wish, but just a small one. This small, sad, shy fish reminds me of myself. Anyway, this was very short and cute.

I received an ARC audiobook copy of this book from Netgalley. While it is primarily a picture book, this story was captivating. A simple kindness brings a girl a wish granting fish, but the fish is unable to give the girl her biggest wants. In the end, her act of kindness ends up with her fulfilling her own wishes. I love the princess who saves herself idea, and this story touches that. I would recommend this book for my elementary school library.

The Fish of Small Wishes
by Elana K. Arnold
An auditory edition is amazing in its presentation. The joy and explanation of the voice is entrancing. An act of kindness in saving a life is a magical experience, from the voice of the fish to its recovery. Th idea of a wish granting fish is not new, but the act of kindness brought great of reward, even if it was a smaller wish.

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. This was such a sweet story and was so fun to listen to on audio. I loved the music that was added and the different voices; they really added to the story! Such a fun story and I’d love to read (and listen!) to more from this author in the future. I’d be interested in checking out the physical book when it comes out to see the illustrations.
