A spectacular tribute book to Elton John, with fabulous photos, engaging text, and a stunning compilation of his music. I learned so much about this fav musician and recommend it highly to other fans and those who want to know more about this legend.

Wonderful chronological overview of the life of Elton John. The photos are the highlight. The information is general and informative. It says when it is drawing from Elton’s words (book or interviews) but other times I’m unclear on the sources used. This is great if you are a fan of Elton and want a display book for your shelf or coffee table. It is the kind of book to be enjoyed by looking through pages and finding your favorite memories of him.

Anyone who is a fan of Elton John will love this book. Anyone who is simply curious about him will find this very interesting. Gaar manages to jam in an incredible amount of information and a ton of photos, highlighting John's life and career from the earliest days all the way up to the modern era.

This is a very nice photographic biography following Elton John and his career.

The information covers roughly 1947 - present day.

I really appreciated this book, mainly because of the beautiful photography. Almost, if not every page has pictures that are relevant, adding depth to the content. I received this e-book in exchange for an honest review, but I also think I am going to purchase this for my library as well.

This book is an excellent compilation of Elton's musical career. I feel like I know that aspect of his life much better now. The only thing that fell short was the fact that there wasn't enough about his personal life. I mean, he came out as bisexual, he was married once to a woman and he had issues with cocaine. But I was hoping for a more in-depth study of his life. Other than that I thought the book was well written. I gave it four stars.

Great overview of Elton John’s life, from his early years through to 2023. Also loved the photos that went with the text.

Fabulous retrospective looking back on the truly impressive career of one of my favorite performers. It included so many little stories and photographs I've never read or seen before. A real gem of a gift for any ultimate Elton John fan. Highly recommend!!!

Tough to tell on netgalley what the finished product is intended as, I *think* this is meant as a coffee table/display book. Perfectly done for that purpose— loved the visuals and information inside.

If it’s meant as more of a bookshelf book I’d probably rate it slightly less, The writing itself is a bit simplistic (though informative) and not necessarily compelling on its own/independent of the photos. This works for a display book where you read a couple pages at a time just flipping through, but makes for a much drier read from cover to cover.
