Super cute and fun book. I loved the characters and the plot. It was a lot of fun and now I want to read the others in this series. Thank you for my free review copy.

As most all other reviews have mentioned, this is a Tangled retelling. I love adaptations of fairytale stories, and this one was cute - but maybe a bit too YA for me.
Ren is off to college to explore new things when she has Fitz as her guide.
I loved Ren, but I did not like the back and forth with how Fitz treated her. I know, I know. He’s the grumpy guy, but I felt he was a little *too* big of a jerk at times.
Thanks, Netgalley, for the book!

This is a cute modern retelling of Disney's Rapunzel films. This is part of a series of one offs that fit the modern Disney retellings genre. It fits all of my romcom needs in the sense that it is cute and low stakes. It also does a good job of still being original in its own way.

Christina Lauren delivered a charming Rapunzel-inspired tale in Tangled Up in You. Ren, raised off the grid and stepping into the world for the first time, is bookish, brilliant, and endlessly curious. Fitz, her grumpy counterpart with a perfectly mapped-out life, doesn’t stand a chance once she enters it. Their unlikely bond forms during a college seminar, leading to a road trip full of surprises, revelations, and slow-burn romance.
The nods to the original tale are clever—Fitz’s Mustang named Max is a perfect touch—and Ren’s innocence brings a slightly YA feel, balanced by witty banter and heartwarming chemistry. With a sweet grumpy/sunshine dynamic and just enough angst, this is a delightful twist on a classic.

At the beginning of this book I really wasn’t sure that I would finish it. I didn’t love the way the “homesteaders” were portrayed and it felt too sweeping instead of pointed at their character… I understand the source material, so I tried to read it as the mother gothel character, and not a dis on growing vegetables? (Maybe it was me) I thought that our FMC was a bit too naive in a lot of ways, but then super smart in others and that was hard to get behind. It was a fun easy read tho overall.

I adore Christina Lauren, so I jumped at the chance to read a Rapunzel reimagining. I was not expecting the start of the book to feel like Educated by Tara Westover but looking at it now I can see how that fits. I picked up and put down this book a few times, wondering if it was just a me issue not connecting with the characters. Perhaps I was looking for more Flynn Ryder charisma but I wasn't able to stay engaged and eventually just gave up on the book.

Unfortunately, this was a DNF! I tried to pick this one up so many times, as I've read all of Christina Lauren's books, but the pacing of this book felt really slow.

I typically love Christina Lauren books but this was a miss for me. It was cute but I could easily guess what was going to happen next.

I knew coming into this book that it would be hard to get a good review out of me. I like what I’ve read by Christina Lauren before so that wasn’t my issue. Tangled is absolutely my favorite Disney princess movie and this project had big shoes to fill.
I’m conflicted on my opinion. I thought our MCs were perfect as our own Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. But I could not get past her awful “parents”. By the end I understood why they were like that (they didn’t want to be found) but I can’t stand a conspiracy nut job. So for the first half I was disgusted with how that storyline was going.
I do think overall I really enjoyed it and the similarities to Tangled, I have no issues either this having 0 spice. I’m not sure why people gave this negative reviews just because of that. That’s weird 😅

This was a fun read. Christina Lauren never disappoints me. I would recommend this to all romance readers that want a whimsical fun read.

Literally one of my favorite romance novels from last year!! I love Tangled and I love Christina Lauren and this was the perfect combination.

I have loved all of the books from this author, and this one is no different. It was truly wonderful

Anything that comes out that is Christina Lauren, I read! Loved this one! This was such an entertaining read coupled with a few heavy topics. I really enjoyed the humor and heart of the writers. If you like road trips, YA feel, and closed-door romance, read this!

What a fun read! Christina Lauren books are so hit or miss for me, but I really enjoyed this one!
The book did a great job hitting the major beats of Tangled while also creating a very memorable contemporary romance.
Thanks for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Tangled Up in You is another great read by Christina Lauren. Thai duo knows how to tug I heart strings and make a reader laugh. I always look forward their new reads and this didn’t disappoint.

A great read, I loved both characters and wanted everything to work out for them. I liked how it was told from both points of view.would have loved an epilogue.

The Meant to Be novels are hit or miss for me, but not this one. This one was wonderful. Christina Lauren doing their take on Tangled was, dare I say, meant to be.
There were enough references to Tangled without this being overtly a modern-day retelling of Disney’s version of Rapunzel. The deviations from that was where I thought this really shone, specifically in how Ren’s character could exist in a world being “locked away” in 2024.
This was a delightful surprise of a book!

I enjoyed this fun lighthearted somewhat adaptation of Tangled (but for grownups, although it is spice-free). Fans of Disney and romance will really like it. The characters and dialogue were just fun and kept the story moving along.

As Tangled's number one fan, I had to read this book and if you liked the movie, then I think you're going to love this book. I tried to be slightly impartial while reading this and rate it as though I were someone who DOESN'T know every single scene of this movie by heart, and with that in mind I was able to give it a 4 star rating.
There are definitely things that are played up for the sake of the original Tangled story that feel a bit over the top or unnecessary for normal readers, but that fans will find cute and charming. The characters Ren and Fitz are so sweet and I loved that this book didn't make them fall head over heels for each other immediately. They had the true strangers to slightly wary adversaries to friends to lovers storyline that I adored and overall I really can't complain.
I liked how they changed the kidnapping plotline up just enough to where you know what direction the story is going, but not how it will get there in the end. If you love the movie, then I think you're going to really love the book.

This was a really cute, quick read. A modern retelling of Tangled, so I definitely recommend for any Disney fans! I really liked both Ren and Fitz and while I normally don't enjoy the instalove trope, it worked in this scenario. I looooved the audiobook. Patti Murin is one of my favorite narrators! Thank you so much for the ARC!
