This book was SO CUTE!!!!!!

Think sunshine, bubblegum, fizzy bubbles, and sparkling fireworks. It was like cuddling up with your favorite candies and best of friends for a fun, never ending sleepover of giggles and joy!

Ren and Fitz were the best of characters. They felt so real and I just wanted to hang out with them on all their adventures. Their chemistry was spot on and I loved watching them fall for each other.

If you’re looking for a sweet & clean (kissing only) romance with only one bed, grumpy & sunshine, with dual POV and larger than life characters you’ll eat this up like your favorite pint of Ben & Jerry’s. A funny and adorable retelling of the Disney movie Tangled.

There's no one more worthy to write a Disney remake than Christina Lauren. Tangled Up in You is a modern take on the story of Tangled. While I've never seen that Disney movie, I still really enjoyed this book! While this is part of a series loosely based on Disney movies, the unique style of Christina Lauren still shines through.

I loved the chemistry between Ren and Fitz. It felt genuine and sincere. Ren is a bit naive based on her upbringing and seclusion. It was sweet that Fitz never took advantage of that. And rather than finding her weird or unusual, he found it endearing.

This was the first I've read in the Meant to Be series and will definitely be going back to read the others.

Thanks to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Took a little bit for me to get into it…I think it was just my mood.. but it became a Cutesy, love story! The comparisons to the Disney version, were obvious but subtle enough that they worked and added some fun! Just a nice easy to read, clean romance, with a bit of family scandal, for added plot twists.
Great “cleanser” read in between some heavier topic books!

Thanks to Net Galley and Hyperion Avenue for the ARC!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I requested this book, but I knew I had to read it A) Because I love Christina Lauren and B) I LOVE the movie “Tangled.” Let me tell you- I was not disappointed at all! This book stuck to the story that we know well, but gave it some super creative twists that I did not anticipate and that made it worth reading. Some attempts to write modern stories from fairy tales fall short and this book didn’t. The main characters are in their early twenties and in college. That was a pleasant surprise- I was nervous they would be too young for mature audiences to really enjoy, but I think the ages made it enjoyable. If the characters were younger I definitely wouldn’t have enjoyed this as much as I did. It’s a great story about following your heart and reminds you of the importance of enjoying the little things. I don’t think I need to say more- if you enjoyed the movie and are an adult or new adult, then you will absolutely fall in love with this book! #NetGalley #NetGalleyArc #Arc #ChristinaLauren #TangledUpInYou

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

Disney’s Tangled reimagined to a modern-day love story! This was such a cute, fun book. Ren’s character evolution was so entertaining to witness and I loved her banter with Fitz throughout their roadtrip. Easy to love main characters and a sweet story.

A sweet YA tale of many firsts. It is a college scene road trip falling in love with your perfect someone.

All first described very tenderly, beautifully and with kindness and sweetness only a young would is capable of.

This story follows a reimagined story of Tangled and does a pretty good job to sticking to the major points.

A perfect book for a YA read of many firsts and new beginnings.

Ren is a little older than the average college student when she decides to go off to Corona College, but then, nothing about Ren's upbringing has been too average. Growing up on the homestead, she learned to educate herself and take care of the crops and animals. When her parents reluctantly allow Ren to go to college, her whole life gets upended by new experiences. When Ren encounters a mystery about her upbringing, she chooses to disobey her parents for the first time ever and take a road trip with the charismatic Fitz.

I enjoyed the road trip tropes that followed Ren and Fitz across the country: only one bed, he falls first. Reading this book does feel like watching a Disney movie, and Christina Lauren did an amazing job updating the Rapunzel story.

I know I should have seen a turbulent ending coming (knowing the Rapunzel story), but I was a little unprepared for how turbulent, and I wish Ren could have had a happier ending. That said, it was a sweet and fun read.

Tangled Up IN You
by Christina Lauren
Pub Date June 25, 2024
Thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for the arc of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
A witty and deeply romantic modern reimagining of Disney’s Tangled, by the New York Times bestselling author duo Christina Lauren, part of the acclaimed and bestselling Meant to Be collection.

She has a dream. He has a plan. Together they’ll take a leap of faith.
Tangled Up in You is more than just a retelling; it’s a modern fairy tale that captures hearts with its innocence, brilliance, and a touch of magic. Christina Lauren’s artful storytelling has once again created a masterpiece that will leave you enchanted and eagerly recommending this book to anyone who loves a blend of romance and adventure.

The wacky premise worked for me, she was fun and smart and he wasn't bad either. Road trip shenanigans are always good and it was nice that the conflict didn't last ages between the characters.

An unlikely pair, a road trip, and two college students that are so different is the setting for this cute rom com! Thank you to Netgalley,, Hyperion and the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Authors Christina Lauren (yes their are two authors!) have created a wonderful story about two very different college students who find themselves on a cross country road trip together. Ren has been isolated her entire life. She lived on a homestead and was homeschooled. In spite of this, Ren is brilliant, funny and optimistic. Edward is a cynic through and through. Everyone things he was raised in a wealthy home and that he has lived a charmed life. This is very far from the truth. On their unlikely road trip, both start to question what they know about themselves and each other. This is a feel good slow-burn romance that will leave you smiling.

This modern day Tangled retelling was so good! I just watched the movie with my daughter before I read it, and I noticed so many similarities. I love how they wove in the details and how even though it was a crazy story, it was immersive. Also I really appreciated the spice level because it felt appropriate to the characters. Thank you for this ARC!

This book is so cute! It’s such a fun retelling and I absolutely love the subtle nods Christina Lauren gives to the original story. It’s such a wholesome romance and I had an absolute blast reading it. It definitely leans closer to YA than other books by Christina Lauren, but still gives the same well written, HEA, giddy vibes. I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a light, happy read!

This was absolutely adorable. I usually expect some spice from Christina Lauren, but I’m glad they skipped it for this story. It would have felt forced and out of place. I loved the story of a sheltered girl who grew up on a homestead but taught herself advanced level subjects, and 6 languages. I loved the parallels to the movie Tangled and how they were morphed into a modern story. The end was heartbreaking and moving. The “happily ever after” end was very rushed to the point where I wonder if they’ll add some things for the final release. The character growth is phenomenal.

Fans of the Meant To Be series will be disappointed with this title (I know I was). Tangled Up In You was messy, over-the-top unbelievable, and lacked loveable characters the reader could root for. I felt like the power author duo, known as Christina Lauren, phoned it in for this one, which is disappointing to say the least. I do not recommend this title, especially if you have read the other Meant To Be stories. This novel is nowhere near the quality of the previous titles.

This is a very cute reimagining of Tangled, and still very much a Christina Lauren story! Loved that even with such a well-known story it managed to be fresh and surprising. Can’t wait to add the hardcover to my shelves!

If you like the movie Tangled you’ll see it weaved throughout this story in fun creative ways. This was an entirely light and fluffy read until it became a bit unexpectedly exciting. I enjoyed both. I finished the book and immediately wanted to start it again because I was happy, and entirely satisfied with the story, The hardest thing about an ARC from NetGalley is when you want to keep reading, but now you have to wait until it releases to read again! Grab this one in June if you’re a Christina Lauren fan!

This book was so cute! My absolute favorite Disney movie is Tangled and I adored this reimagination. Ren was so charming from the start. I loved the way the author modernized and took inspiration from the movie but also made Ren completely unique and special. It took me a while to warm up to Fitz but that seems so fitting as our Flynn Rider character. He was a good guy who believed himself to be a bad guy and I just couldn’t wait until he saw “the light” of how amazing Ren truly was at heart. There was also an underlying mystery that kind of brought a little bit of thriller into.
I loved the clean romance as well, and how there was no spice. With Ren just meeting Fitz I really appreciated how the author took things slow with these characters and how Fitz was just the sweet cinnamon roll hero dressed in a bad boy persona. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be just a really sweet book. This would be a perfect weekend read for when you want to cozy up with the Tangled soundtrack in the background.

I love Christina Lauren. I’m always guaranteed to laugh out loud. I loved the twist on a classic favorite and this one just felt like the ultimate comfort read. I can’t wait for this to be a wide release and to be able to recommend and share with others.

Wow, what an adventure and lovely characters! I do not typically read closed door romances but I easily got swept up in this world and am sad that it has ended. Ren is finally getting a chance to go to college, even at an older age. She was raised on a homestead and was self schooled. She goes off to college and meets Fitz, who has a reputation of a spoiled rich boy. Fitz and Ren are in a class together where they submit DNA for genealogy studies. Here is where Ren finds out that she as a familial match in the system, that is not her either one of her parents. But how could that be when her and her parents lived on a homestead all of her life with no outside influences? The only thing missing from this book is the random Disney singing when Ren and Fitz embark of a cross country trip that changes both of their thoughts, feelings, and lives,

What you'll find...
- cross country trip
- forced proximity
- grumpy/sunshine
- closed door romance
- suspense and mystery
- lots of chemistry!
