I loved it! This love story is a bit shorter than the authors other books, has great banter and hijinks, and is a swoony modern day fairy tale perfect for young adults and new adults. (Although those
of us young-at-heart adults who read YA will find it perfect as well.) Christina Lauren absolutely nailed the references to Disney’s Tangled, but in such smart ways that even if you aren’t familiar with the movie, you will still find the book enjoyable. My family has watched the movie so many times, that all the easter eggs included in the book were super fun surprises that made the story even more adorable. Like the movie, this book takes a dramatic and fearful turn that kept me turning page after page. The romantic suspense vibe pushed the plot along at a perfect pace and ended in a thrilling conclusion. Plan to be surprised and delighted with this latest addition to Hyperion Avenue’s Meant to Be Collection.
Thanks so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC to read and review. All opinions are my own.

I have been a fan of this writing pair for years. I have also really enjoyed reading the various books from the Meant to Be series. So when you put them together I knew I had to read this book!

Tangled Up in You was a delightful and creative modern retelling of Rapunzel. Ren has largely been kept from the real world while living with her parents on their homestead (which I think was genius). She was reluctantly allowed to attend college with a long list of rules. Upon arriving she is given a tour by Fitz and the spark begins. Its hard to imagine a twenty-something who has never seen an iPhone, nevermind had one of her own. And yet we get to experience the joys of Ren. Her naivety could have been annoying but instead, it was refreshing and well done. Just like Fitz, it made me want to take a new perspective on the world and what we all take for granted.

Christina Lauren added in little details and characters from other Rapunzel stories in such cute ways.

I really enjoyed this story and liked that it was creative and cozy.

I was incredibly nervous about this book. Not only do you get a retelling of sorts, but it’s Disney. Taking a well-known children’s movie and creating a new adult book is brave. And really, the reason I got it? Because I trust in Christina Lauren.

I really enjoyed that they didn’t try to incorporate the exact storyline, but highlighted the major themes in the movie. The translation from movie to something relatable that has been seen in the news was done seamlessly.

This book is incredibly cheesy and cute, but not so much that it’s cringy. I highly recommend watching the movie first to prepare what you’re in for. Going in without that could make this seem incredibly immature.

Thankfully, there wasn’t any spice, otherwise I think it could have given the ick.

This is a perfect read if you need quick and light-hearted.

First of all, Tangled is one of my very favorite Disney movies. So, when I heard that CLo was doing a Rapunzel retelling, I knew I had to read it. I am happy to say that it totally lived up to my expectations, & then some.

I adored this story! I loved the set up at college & the road trip adventure. The concept was A+. There were so many clever Easter eggs that pointed back to the source material. Pascal the cat & Max the car… very clever & fun! Ren & Fitz were such a lovely couple. The way their relationship grew felt really organic & sweet. This one was a winner for me!

While Ren is thrust into the world of university after living with her parents on a homestead her whole life, without as much as a cell phone. She quickly encounters Fitz who is tasked with giving her a campus tour. However, her roommate is quick to warn her not to fall for Fitz's good boy routine. After a peculiar finding while taking a DNA test Ren begins to question everything she's ever known, and the only way to find her answers is a road trip, with none other than Fitz.

If you're looking for a sweet and wholesome fairytale retelling then look no further because that is exactly what this novel is. Christina Lauren jam-packed this retelling with so many homages to the source material that I could literally not smiling the whole time. They've created such a unique and true to the fairytale story while completely modernizing the story at the exact same time.

i was a little apprehensive going into this book but honestly it was good! I have loved all of Christina Lauren’s books in the past so I am glad I can add this one to the list!

Tangled Up in You was a really cute book. As the story developed a mystery developed. I won’t give any spoilers, but I didn’t think this was a typical Christina Lauren romance novel. It was mysterious with a side of sweet innocent romance. However, I had to give this fewer stars because the book went full force until the end and it just dropped off. It was almost like ‘Wow, I sold a 350-page book so I have to finish up now…sentence, sentence the end.’ Cute and I recommend, but it would be down the stack for me.

I am a Christina, Lauren fan from day, one, and have read everything they’ve ever written. Their latest book Tangled Up in You is a retelling of Tangled and absolutely delightful. On a personal note Tangled is one of my go to Disney movies, so I was even more excited for this book. I couldn’t get the Disney animated characters out of my head the whole time. This modern retelling is so cute. I was rooting for Ren and Fitz from the very start!

This was such a fun Tangled retelling from the indomitable duo Christina Lauren! I wasn’t sure how they would adapt the Rapunzel storyline to the “real world,” but they absolutely nailed it. The result is a story that is heavier than their usual fare and more fiction than romance. I really enjoyed the characters, the plot pacing, and the elements of mystery. I highly recommend this story for a fun, fresh take on a Disney fairytale.

Thank you to Hyperion Avenue for gifting me with an ARC to review! All opinions are my own.

This was a cute book. I really like how it followed the theme of the Disney movie Tangled. I’d recommend this book to others!

Received this ARC via NetGalley….

Each book in this series keeps getting better! I loved the previous three and love this one too. I will definitely reread this entire series again.

This modern portrayal of Rapunzela was beautifully done. Both characters had great back stories. You couldn’t help but fall in like with both of them. Their dynamic was so cute!

One aspect that I greatly appreciated was the emphasis on mental health after the truth was revealed. It wasn’t just…. she found her bio parents and lived happily ever after, the end. I liked that they specifically talked about her speaking with the therapist and how to cope with her new reality.

TANGLED UP IN YOU is a modern-day romance retelling of Disney’s Tangled, and Christina Lauren did such a great job with this adaptation! They captured all of the best parts of the movie and had me smiling the whole time. It definitely read more on the YA side, but since it’s Christina Lauren, it also had great tension and romance aspects. Definitely my favorite of this series so far!

Ren is a 22 year old that has never owned a cell phone, had any friends that weren’t animals, or left her family’s farmland to go anywhere farther than the closest small town until her parents agree to let her go to Corona College for a semester. Fitz is a rich daddy’s boy that is the typical charmer who always gets his way. Or at least that’s what he wants everyone to think.

This was my first modern retelling of a fairytale and Tangled happens to be my favorite so I jumped at the chance to read an advanced copy of Tangled Up in You by my go-to romcom duo, Christina Lauren. Aside from the actual story being based off of Rapunzel, I absolutely loved the little references to Tangled that were subtly sprinkled throughout. It was such a fun read and even though I knew how it would end in theory, I really did not expect that ending. Overall, this was a super cute modern day spin on the typical story and has become one of my favorites from Christina Lauren!

Thank you to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for the ARC!

This was so cute!! There were so many elements I adored about this book. Ren was so cute! I was worried how faithful they would stick to the retelling aspects but I thought it was just the right amount. I will say, a little too much spice for my liking but otherwise, great read.

I absolutely loved this book. This was not just a retelling but a fairy tale for today’s world. I had so many warm fuzzies after finishing this book and cannot wait to buy a physical copy. If you are looking for an enchanting tale that will leave you feeling nostalgic afterwards, this is the book for you!! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. One of the best reads in a long time.

This was SUCH a cute modern retelling! I wasn't sure how Christina Lauren was going to put Tangled in a modern context, but they did it! Ren was absolutely adorable and fun to follow throughout the book. She had me grinning so much while Fitz had such funny little one-liners. The creativity was wonderful and I didn't feel like they forced any easter eggs from the original. I've read several Christina Lauren books and some get pretty spicy (and the book title had my husband wondering what kind of book I was reading haha), so I was worried this one was going to turn into a retelling with a bunch of spice, but it didn't! The spice level was PERFECT. There was tons of chemistry and any mention of physical intimacy left just enough to the imagination for the reader, which is what I love in a romance novel. This is definitely one of my favorites in the Meant to Be series! Christina Lauren hit it out of the park!

Thank you to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such an enjoyable read. I wasn’t convinced at the beginning that I was going to enjoy it, but it was a great adaptation and spin on the classic Rapunzel story.

I think Ren was a beautify naive version of the character that made sense in a modern setting. At times it came across cheesy and a bit un-believable but in a way that made sense.

The end conflict wad crazy but came together well and It felt like an adorable disney ending!!

I wish Edward (Fitz), felt more like Eugene (Flynn Ryder) throughout the story, I liked him but he didn’t feel as close to the character.

Thank you Netgalley and Hyperion for the arc.

This might be my favorite retelling yet! Definitely, my favorite in the Meant to Be series (although I haven’t read them all). I read this with the @aotmbookclub crew and they strongly advised (friendships were threatened lol) that I watch the movie first (I know what you are thinking - how have I not seen Tangled? I don't know, but now I have, and it’s great!).

I think Christina Lauren does something different with this story, half way through I forgot I was reading a CLo book because there was action, and drama alongside this love story. But then sure enough, I laughed out loud at the wit and remembered (not that I’d really forgotten) how much I love them. Their nods and ties to Tangled were perfect, and it was just such a fun read. I watched the movie and this book in less than 24 hours - that’s how quickly I got sucked in.

Tangled Up in You comes out on 1/25, thank you @netgalley and @hyperionavenue for the arc
