Let me start off my by saying I LOVE CHRISTINA LAUREN. This book, however, just wasn’t my favorite. It was a spin on the Disney movie tangled. I had a difficult time connecting with characters or finding anyone very likable in general. Just “meh” for me.

Maybe it's because I've never seen "Tangled," but I just couldn't get into "Tangled Up In You." This pains me to say, as I'm a huge fan of Christina Lauren. Typically, I can't bear to put their books down, but I felt like I was slogging through Ren and Fitz's story. It just felt so unbelievable--perhaps because it was a fairy tale? For whatever reason, I had to slog through it in order to finish.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for an ARC in exchange for my unbiased review.

Tangled Up In You is a modern-day romance retelling of the animated movie Tangled. Christina Lauren did a fantastic job with delivering the retelling. It was fun seeing all of the elements from the film in the book and the additional details they put into the story. I loved Ren and Fitz’s grumpy/sunshine relationship and watching them fall in love as they road trip to Nashville. I got a kick of the bar scene while they were on the road. Their chemistry is a little spicy, but I do not think anything was too inappropriate for a young adult to read. The ending was action-packed. This a fun and cute book for a Disney adult or a young adult alike!
Thank you to NetGallery and to Hyperion Avenue for giving me a copy of the book

I have been a Christina Lauren fan for a while now. This book did not disappoint! Not my favourite by this author duo but a great story. That kept my interest the entire time.

The writing duo of Christina Lauren does it again! Their writing had me starting a story I didn't want to put down. In Tangled Up in You they wrote suspense and intrigue so spectacularly that the first page had me hooked.
It wasn't too long before I suspected the outcome but I do a lot of reading and there are only so many twists and turns available. But where this duo had this seasoned reader was their character development even while holding back details because their writing is that good.
Ren is an overachiever and so sheltered that there is not just a naive about her she is the epitome of unpretentious and loveable. I adored her love of learning, being a walking encyclopedia and so brilliant that she isn't aware of how bright her star is.
Ren meets Fitz another unbuffed gem who comes in gorgeous packaging but there is so much beneath the surface to this guy he's an iceberg. What you see is only the tip of the iceberg. He is an anomaly with a chip on his shoulder, a goal where he is not just driven but singularly forcued on it and incredibly annoyed by Ren. Not even Ren's beauty can penetrate his irratation he has when she is around. He's letting people think what they think they know about him and Ren is going blindly taking it day by day just trying to stay in college hoping her parents who are not wanting her to go to college recends. Our first clue is how much control the parents have over 23 year old college freshman Ren but with her growing friendship during a road trip with Fitz she gains not just awareness about the world around her but about why she didn't challenge the status quo of her life.
Christina Lauren has my heart. They always will. I've read everything they have read because they never disappoint but how their steamy romances started to how their writing has evolved they are becoming one of my favorite storytellers.
If you're looking for a book to escape in and get tangled in this is it at the finest. I thoroughly enjoyed Tangled Up In You by Christina Lauren so much so that lines that were written or wondering how the writing duo created such wonderful intrigue to keep this seasoned reader so engaged was lovely. Great writing, character development, and an impeccable delivery of two people getting to know each other and now fighting for their well-being.
It's not an enemies-to-lovers troupe that's too simple for this writing it's a you think you know someone but you don't to I have your back no matter what. Who can't love that?
I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher Hyperion Books for the opportunity to read and review Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren.

“She has a dream. He has a plan. Together they’ll take a leap of faith.”
Personal review : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
What a fun retelling of the classic Rapunzel in a modern day Tangled - the only thing missing was Pascale the Chameleon! This book was the fourth in the Meant to Be Disney retelling collection by multiple romance authors and was probably my favorite so far! These authors really encompass the essence of modern day princesses! I loved how the author developed Ren, so naive, just like the classic princess and Fitz-the perfect Flynn Rider. REN’s mother was the ultimate Mother Gothel and the plot that came from that relationship was mind blowing! I didn’t know how Christina Lauren would make this tale modern, but boy did she do it! At one point near the complex it even went from romance to thriller. I really enjoyed this book and am so appreciative of @netgalley and @hyperionavenue for the advanced review copy in exchange for my honest opinion, this book is available on June 25.
Synopsis:
Ren has never held an iPhone, googled the answer to a question, or followed a crush on social media. What she has done: Read a book or two, or three (okay, hundreds). Taught herself to paint. Built a working wind power system from scratch. But for all the books she’s read, Ren has never found one that’s taught a woman raised on a homestead and off the grid for most of her twenty-two years how to live in the real world. So when she finally achieves her lifelong dream of attending Corona College, it feels like her life is finally beginning.
Fitz has the rest of his life mapped out: Graduate from Corona at the top of his class, get his criminal record wiped clean, and pass himself off as the rich, handsome player everyone thinks he is. He’s a few short months from checking off step one of his plans when Ren Gylden, with her cascading blonde hair and encyclopedic brain, crashes into his life, and for the first time Fitz’s plan is in jeopardy.
But a simple assignment in their immunology seminar changes the course of both their lives, and suddenly they’re thrown out of the frying pan and into the fireon a road trip that will lead them in the most unexpected directions. Out on the open road, the world somehow shifts, and the unlikely pair realize that, maybe, the key to the dreams they've both been chasing have been sitting next to them the whole time.

This book was so cute! A Rapunzel retelling by Christina Lauren - immediate yes!
Ren has been home schooled her whole life and actually hasn't really left the family homestead aside from a few trips to the neighbouring town. Until now. Now she's enrolled at Corona College and her world is turned upside down. First by the news that her parents seem to have been keeping Ren in the dark on many things and the handsome, popular Fitz.
As they embark on a road trip they find themselves falling for each other while navigating the road and all the new information they learn on the way.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Hyperion Avenue for an advanced copy of Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren. Solid 4 stars!

I can't think of anyone better to write a retelling of Rapunzel than the fabulous duo that is Christina Lauren. Tangled Up In You is absolutely perfect!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC.

I really tried to get into this novel but I just couldn't do it. It could be that I'm not in the right place to read it right now. I usually really enjoy her books but I just couldn't finish it. Perhaps another time. Thanks for the advanced copy NetGalley. #NetGalley #TangledUpinYou

Oh my goodness. This story was perfect. I loved the innocence and the learning. The huge surprise toward the end caught me completely off guard, and I loved every second!

This was a great book! Everything that these two authors write is gold. These two characters couldn’t be more different, but somehow they worked together. I didn’t realize that this was a retelling of Tangled because I’ve never seen Tangled! But from what I do know of the movie, I can see the connections.
I loved how careful Fitz was with Ren. While we originally are told that he’s not a great guy, he proves the reader wrong by really being very thoughtful and sweet. I loved what it meant when she went from calling him Fitz to calling him by his real first name. He was so closed off and she seemed like such a naive free spirit.
I really enjoyed the ending. I had a feeling I knew what was going to happen and where the story was going, but of course I am never sure. I was happy with the way that it went, but I did want a bit more. I wanted to know what happened after things went down.
As always with Christina Lauren, this was a fun, easy read that romance lovers will enjoy.

I was thrilled to be approved for this ARC, as I am a fan of the authors! Another hit by Christina Lauren for all ages. The MFC, Ren, is one of my new favorite characters. I wish I could look at each and every day as an opportunity, an experience, such as she did. Even before she knew what she was missing, she seemed to appreciate the things in life that really should matter. I thought it was clear from the beginning that the MMC, Fitz, was going to be the misunderstood one between them all. Overall, their road trip was a new beginning and epic journey for them both. I like that my eleven year old twins (boy and girl) who are avid readers can pick this book up and get a little lesson about life and romance, without me worrying about it being inappropriate for them. Job well done to appeal to mass age groupings!

Where do I even start. I feel like Christina & Lauren’s most recent books have so much amazing character development and story details. This book did not disappoint. Slow burn but in the BEST way. The time we got to take getting to know both MCs was delightful. Slow but deliberate; their true characters shown through. Plus add in a bit of mystery and boom: electric. This was such a fun read I couldn’t hardly put it down. Please keep writing books like this. Not your typical romance but oh so lovely. Another winner!
Ps. As someone from Washington state I was SO into the Spokane reference (and what I think was a Gonzaga University rename—Go Zags); I absolutely loved it!

This was a fun ride from beginning to end. I loved that this was a retelling of Tangled, but with all the Christina Lauren twists! This was very entertaining and I can’t wait to read more from them!
Thank you NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue Publishing for the arc of this book.

A fairytale in a modern world yet is easily relatable. I really like how easy it was to believe the character REN and she was so endearing. A good telling of a bad boy turned good for the right reasons. An easy fun read. Normally I don’t like books from different perspectives because they end up having the same voice but I feel it really worked in the book.

A delightful story written by the uber talented Christina Lauren. Fans of Tangled and Christina Lauren will not be disappointed. In this version Ren is a sheltered young woman who convinces her parents to let her to to college (with some very strict rules) where she meets and befriends Fitz, a seemingly rich an cavalier college student with no time for the saccharine sweetness of the new girl on campus. But in typical fashion, boy and girl are thrown together under unusual circumstances and both hijinks and sparks ensue.
The authors managed to capture all the fun that people love about Disney's Tangled (Long blonde hair, Pascal, and fireworks included!) and make it into a mostly believable modern love story. In keeping with the theme, it's light on spice, but you can definitely "feel" the chemistry between Ren and Fitz ala Christina Lauren style. Definitely recommend.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Hyperion Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What's not to love here? Ren may be a little too over-the-top perfect, but I loved reading about her going from homesteader to college coed. Ren could run the world! Fitz/Edward was a great foil to her character and their banter during their roadtrip was believable and sweet. Add to all that a mystery and a shoot out and I'm sold!

4.5 stars rounding down on Goodreads
This is such a cute retelling of Rapunzel! I loved the naivety, excitement, and romantic angst, I just could not devour this fast enough. So many time the witty banter had me laughing and made me want Fitz and Ren just to instantly fall head over heels.
I LOVED this modern tale of Rapunzel and I think anyone looking for a fun, non-spicy romcom this one needs to be on the top of your TBR.
****Many thanks for Hyperion Avenue and NetGalley for my gifted copy in turn for an honest review!

I loved this book. 🥰 Such a quick and fun read. A modern retelling of the Disney movie Tangled. I loved the characters and the story line. The fun banter between Ren and Fitz. No smut but still a sweet love story.
I laughed and I cried! Love it when a book gives me all the feels. 🫶🏼
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ren Gylden was raised on a farm in Idaho, sheltered from the world around her. She has no cell phone, no TV, no Internet, not even a landline phone! Her strict parents have finally agreed to let Ren start college as long as she comes home on the weekend to do her chores. She's excited to attend Corona College as a freshman at 23 and is placed in advanced courses because her breadth of self-taught knowledge is far beyond a typical freshman's.
She meets senior Fitz ("just Fitz") and is warned against his charm. While everyone else on campus is charmed by Ren, Fitz seems irritated at her presence. When Ren catches Fitz in a compromising position, she uses the information to her advantage -- she blackmails him into driving her across the country.
Fitz reluctantly agrees and as their trip progresses he's drawn in more by Ren's optimism and joie de vivre. But he's hiding his past from her, and she may find out before he plucks up the courage to tell her himself.
Writing duo Christina Lauren does an amazing job of plucking details from Disney's Tangled and using them to craft a story that's separate from the film but adds subtle nods like Fitz's white Mustang "Max" and her flowing golden locks.
Recommended for Disney fans, romance readers, and teens. None of the content is inappropriate for teenage readers.
