Christina Lauren can do no wrong! This was a breath of fresh air of their writing style and such a fun spin on a Disney classic. I would love to see another modern day retelling rom com done by this dynamic duo! I have been recommending this read to everyone who needs a lighthearted escape from the real world & to all my reading Disney adults! Amazing five star read.

I didn’t know this was part of a series, but it reads as a stand-alone. Cute and charming! The characters were sweet, and the story (a modern retelling of Disney’s Rapunzel) was entertaining. Christina Lauren never disappoints!

A Tale as Enchanting as the Golden Locks!
Get ready to dive into a contemporary fairy tale that’s a brilliant reimagination of Disney’s Tangled - Christina Lauren’s Tangled Up in You is an absolute gem, and the magic it weaves is utterly irresistible.
Ren, our charming protagonist, brings a breath of fresh air to the classic Rapunzel tale. Raised off the grid, she's a bookish, wind-power-system-building wonder, stepping into the bustling world of Corona College for the first time. On the other side of this story is Fitz, a guy with a meticulously planned life, finding his world thrown into delightful chaos when Ren, with her encyclopedic brain and cascading blonde hair, enters his life.
What follows is a riveting adventure sparked by a simple assignment in their immunology seminar. Suddenly, Ren and Fitz find themselves on an unexpected road trip, navigating through a journey that takes unexpected turns. The chemistry between them is not only palpable but also beautifully woven into a slow-burning, heartwarming romance.
Christina Lauren brilliantly captures the essence of a grumpy/sunshine dynamic during this forced proximity road trip, reminiscent of the iconic Rapunzel and Flynn Rider chemistry. Ren's innocence and brilliance make her an endearing character, and Fitz's grumpy exterior hides a warmth that unfolds beautifully.
The narrative is paced to perfection, allowing the story to unfold organically while maintaining a suspenseful edge. The clever twist on the Rapunzel storyline adds a contemporary flavor, making it uniquely Christina Lauren. For those familiar with their work, Tangled Up in You offers a delightful departure while retaining the duo's signature charm.
The authors strike an impeccable balance between a fast-paced narrative and rich inner monologues, keeping readers engaged and invested in every twist and turn. The book not only charms with its romantic elements but also offers a dash of adventure and suspense, making it a thoroughly enjoyable read from beginning to end.
Tangled Up in You is more than just a retelling; it’s a modern fairy tale that captures hearts with its innocence, brilliance, and a touch of magic. Christina Lauren’s artful storytelling has once again created a masterpiece that will leave you enchanted and eagerly recommending this book to anyone who loves a blend of romance and adventure.
Huge thanks to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for the chance to experience this enchanting journey in exchange for an honest review. Tangled Up in You is a golden thread in the tapestry of modern fairy tales, shining with brilliance and warmth.

I read this book in Disney World with a Rapunzel hoodie on… I think I might be THE target audience for this book! I love this series so much and I love Christina Lauren, so this was a perfect fit. The characters, while a little fantastical, were just right for the story… and the happily ever after.

Christina Lauren never disappoints. Even though I hadn't read the earlier books in this series, I loved the idea of these modern retellings of fairy tales. And who doesn't love Tangled? Written in their typical whimsical style, this is the tale of a girl who's brought up and homeschooled away from society.
When Ren goes to college for the first time, things are about to change. In ways you might predict and in ways you absolutely won't. A light, fun read that I loved.

I love the Disney movie Tangled, so when I saw my favorite duo Christina Lauren was writing a modern reimagining, I was so excited.
This modern reimagining of Tangled was so well done, and different enough from Tangled to a be unique story. The characters were amazing. Ren was absolutely adorable and bright. Even though she has lived a sheltered life, she manages to enthrall all of those who she meets. Under the grumpy exterior, Fitz was warm, protective, and sweet. Even though he had a troubled past, you can tell he is a good person. I enjoyed the natural progression of their romance, and that it was not rushed. I also enjoyed the bit of suspense throughout the book, the romance, and the adventure. The pacing was great and the story kept my interest the whole time. This was a fun read from beginning to end, and I would highly recommend it.

Thank you NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Although this was very cute, it ultimately felt too forced for me. I love adaptations of classic works so I was incredibly excited to read this one. I think Christina Lauren did a good job of making the tale of Tangled (aka Rapunzel) fit the modern day setting but it wasn't a very engaging story.
Not only did Rapunzel or Ren, as she's called here, feel inaccessible as a real woman, but the MMC was all over the place. I had to force myself to get into this story and then had to force myself to finish it. I wouldn't say this story was Christina Lauren caliber and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'll round this up to a 3 from a 2.5.

I had no idea this was part of a Disney approved line of Romance books with big name authors to retell classic fairytales (Meant to Be), but this book did a phenomenal job of retelling Rapunzel in modern times. It's dual 3rd and clean, which surprised me but delighted me given Ren's sheltered background. It deals with some questionable parenting decisions and kidnapping (WHICH IS NOT A SPOILER because it's literally the plot of Rapunzel), which might be a trigger for some people. Even MMC's parents are shining examples of Parents of the Year.
This is a grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity because of a road trip, fun story. The FMC and MMC have chemistry that's fun and slow to burn. Ren was not irritating to read about, and her sheltered background was done realistically and done really well at that. The writing is fast paced, quick and easy, and enjoyable to read through. CL has such a way with balancing the inner monologue to make it not drag for readers, and I really love that. The way that they twisted the kidnapping plotline from Rapunzel was really clever too, and I couldn't wait to get to that part and put all the pieces together.
If you're a fan of Christina Lauren, this one will be just a little different than what you're used to while still being recognizable as a Christina Lauren book. Like siblings where one looks like Mom and the other looks like Dad.
I requested this book to preview it for my sister who loves Tangled and Romance books, so this wasn't really a read for myself, BUT not only will I be buying her a copy when it comes out, I will be recommending it to whomever else falls under "Loves Tangled/Rapunzel and Romance books" because I did really like it. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review!!
*Also, shout out to whoever named this book. "Tangled Up in Me" by Skye Sweetnam has been on my mind on repeat since I started this book, which is a huge blast from the past.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy. I am a huge Disney fan and was excited to read a twist on the Rapunzel. I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely and cute take on it.

Tangled Up In You

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5
Number 4 book in the Meant To Be Series, Tangled Up In You was such a good book I could not put it down! Disney’s Tangled with a modern day twist, FMC Ren was sheltered her whole life and finally at 22 years old she gets the chance to go to college where she meets Fitz. She can see right through his charm though. When she overhears him that he is taking a road trip to Nashville, she finds a way to persuade him into taking her for the adventure. A road trip that changes everything for the two of them.
Ren was such a kindhearted person who you could not fall in love with and Fitz, although he has a troubled past you can tell that deep down he is a big softie. The way their friendship developed was perfect. I love how this story unfolded and the spin was crazy but it was very believable and just made me say oh my god while reading it! Absolutely loved this book and would recommend to anyone.. especially a Disney fan!

This book did so much justice to the original story of Rapunzel/Tangled! I loved both the MCs and I especially enjoyed the optimism and general happiness exuded by Ren.

Christina Lauren delivers an entertaining, charming story that any fan of fairy tales will enjoy. If being honest, I’ve never seen the movie Tangled and am not familiar with the storyline, so when it comes to comparing to the inspiration, I’m afraid I’m not much help. What I can do, is tell you that either way, this story is filled with whimsy and is the perfect amount amusing and romantic. It’s very easy to love Ren and Fitz, both for their individual stories as well as who they are together. I really enjoyed their evolution and although it’s set in a short time period, it felt natural.
Not knowing Tangled, I didn’t expect the twist at the end, and it definitely wasn’t something I’ve read before. While I had my guesses (and wasn’t far off), it was different enough to keep me captivated until the end.
Any fan of CL’s will not be disappointed with this book…I gobbled it up in the span of a few hours. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Tangled up in you is an interesting modern retelling of Disney’s Tangled. Ren is living in homestead, sheltered from the real world. She smart and always want to learn new things. She convinced her parents to let her go to Corona college on weekdays and come home on weekends. There she met Fitz. He is popular, confident, had his life all mapped out. An assignment in their immunology revealed a secret about her heritage. Ren wants to find out the truth so when an opportunity arises she sort of blackmailed Fitz to take her across the country on a road trip. What a ride that was … enemies turned into a beautiful friendship. A lot went on along the way – you can expect small hotel with one bed , grouchy hero and sunshine heroine, slow burn chemistry, and a tiny bit of drama and suspense. The middle was a little dragging for me in some parts. Overall, I like the characters and the interesting synopsis. Cute and clean read no too much sexy time
3.5 stars

This installment from the Meant to Be is a bit different from their normal work, but it’s also a sweet and fun retelling of Tangled. I think some of the fairy tale elements become a little silly in trying to mesh them with a modern-day setting, but this is still a delightful read.
There are a lot of parallels between this book and the movie but different enough to keep it interesting. It's truly a modern-day retelling!
I did find the ending a little abrupt and wanted a little more but overall a great read!

I loved the mystery thrill to this romcom. Christina & Lauren never fail to have this magic way of wrtiting together that makes you truly question if they are really two people. I love the dynamics ans messiness of the main characters and how we see them both grow and change.

I am so obsessed with this book! Christina Lauren are such a dynamic duo! This was just a fabulous rendition of the Rapunzel story. After finishing, I went back and watched Tangled the movie and I loved this book even more. There were so many subtle similarities. I love this "Meant to Be" series and "Tangled Up in You" is definitely my new favorite.

A Rapunzel / Tangled retelling that is perfect for Disney fans. My one big complaint is that it, naturally, read very young adult and was more PG than a typical Christina Lauren read. Otherwise, I thought it was a cute, lighthearted romance read.
3.5 stars

If you enjoy the movie Tangled, you will not be able to not enjoy this book! However, the only thing in common with Rapunzel, might be the hair and the being "locked away" from society. I am recommending this to new adult readers and anyone who loves a good fairy tale. Ren and Fitz are an inevitable couple from their first meeting. The writing duo that is Christina Lauren adds a winner to the Meant to Be series. Christina Lauren is a "must author" for me!

Tangled is one of my favorite Disney films, so the fact that Christina Lauren did a romance novel based on it? I was there immediately. I have to say, putting the story into a modern age definitely reminded me that the plot is about child abduction and also the way that Ren was treated by her "parents" was horrifying. She is such a happy-go-lucky character, that putting her next to people that just use her was quite traumatic. I almost couldn't get past it since it was literally the first few chapters of the book. I managed though, and her charm really saved the day. Having the dual narrative was necessary with Fitz, and it was nice to see both sides of the internal dialogue---even if Fitz was having trust issues for an uncalled for long time. 10/10. Will probably end up buying this book when it comes out.

Love Disney’s Tangled tale of Repunzel? This is the reimagined and updated tale. Ren, secluded in a homestead goes to college to find out what the world has to offer away from her overprotective parents. She meets Fitz, a student with a kind heart but troubled past. Together they embark on a journey to discover the truth, determine true identities, solve a missing child case, reunite families and find love along the way. Fun, sweet romance for Tangled fans and any princess fans.
