Yuki is a lonely college student who decides that she finally want to find her soulmate. While she goes out to a bar with her friend she meets a guy, who wants to help her find her soulmate. This was super cute, i really liked that this is set in college and not highschool. The main character was super relatable, i will definitely read the next volume.

How I Met My Soulmate 1 by Anashin was a delight of a manga volume. It's a shoujo romance that follows a young college student who is lonely and only wants to find love, so her friend takes her to a club to meet guys and she ends up helping out one guy who is completely drunk. They sort of become unlikely friends after that and he tells her to pay her back, he will help her find her soulmate.

I am a big fan of Anashin's Waiting for Spring series, so I was immensely excited to hear about her series coming out in English, and it did not disappoint. The characters all all super fun and interesting, the art is well laid out and beautiful, and the story is sweet. There is potential for an interloper trying to make a love triangle, but we all know how that will go. ;-) I also enjoyed the characters being a bit aged up compared to her last series. The follow-up volumes are being awaited eagerly. Recommend for shoujo manga fans.

How I Met My Soulmate starts off with a familiar dumb girl meets tsundere boy feel but it is a classic trope for a reason. Fans of Wolf Girl and Black Prince will love this manga. The art style in How I Met My Soulmate is very similar to Anashin's older work, Waiting For Spring. Like, the same. The plot set up is also similar, too. We are once again led to believe that there is a love triangle between the two main boys and MC, creating a reverse-harem feel, but this time, our MC quickly meets the guy (of her dreams) and he ends up wanting to help her "meet her soulmate" she has been searching for. I highly recommend checking out this cute girl-meets-boy romance manga if you are looking for a feel-good read.

4,5 stars.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. For a second I wasn't too sure about the story, but it ended up to be pretty sweet and well fleshed out. I actually ordered the actual manga (and pre-ordering volumes 2+3) before finishing this.

📖Manga Review📖

How I Met my Soulmate Vol:1 🍭
By; Anashin✨

How to begin with this one? 👀
I’ve been obsessed with this manga for a year. Even before it was announced that we were getting an English release. I have all the available volumes in Japanese and now two copies of the English release. Waiting for that Spanish one to be released next year. So it’s safe to say I absolutely love this manga.

This is my #1 manga at the moment. I completely fell in love with the story and let’s not forget Anashin’s beautiful art style and character design. ♥️

I’ll say it again, I LOVE this manga so much. The fact that these are college students and the way the relationship develops over the volume is just amazing. 😍

Also IORI SOUMA is my #1 Husbandoo and I will fight and defend him with my life. He’s one of those characters you just wish was real. I absolutely adore him with all my heart and if he ever gets animated it’s all over for me. 😘🥰😘

Yuuki is such an endearing lead. I found myself relating to her in some ways. She ate type of lead that you’re rooting for! ☺️

a very average shojo manga that has a rather iffy romance. the guy is a bit of a red flag and the fl is way too naive.

I tried to go into this new series unjaded. It's no surprise that I had put down Waiting for Spring because of all of the unnecessary drama. Sadly, How I Met My Soulmate seems like it's going to carry that same theme.

This is only the first volume and we have three guys that fell for Yuuki? Iori is the only one that makes sense since they took time to get to know each other. Also, I find Seno seems sketchy to be honest.

I won't be finishing this series, unfortunately. It's not my vibe.

Thank you to Netgalley, Anashin, and Kodansha Comics for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

4 stars

A fun start to a new shojo slice-of-life manga series. Yuki, a 20yo girl is set on finding her soulmate. She goes out with her friend to meet new people but what she wasn’t expecting is that one chance encounter will also lead her to reconnect with someone from her past. Everyone falls into their designed role rather fast and the plot moves at a nice pace with enough mystery to keep one hooked. I truly read this in one sitting!!

I really liked the fact that the characters are adults and in a university setting, I think it will offer a more mature story. Almost all of the characters are quite lovely and intriguing and I can’t wait for volume 2 to keep knowing more about them and their stories and how the plot progresses. It was a really sweet read and now I'm invested.

Everyone dreads a love triangle but so far it seems like it’s well written and it makes you curious as to who the main character will end up choosing: the guy she just met or her childhood crush? If you're looking for a new series to fall in love with, this is it!

Yuuki has decided that she wants a soul mate and goes out with her friend to meet someone, but someone from her past also comes back into her life.
As a first volume, it did a good job of establishing the background and plot, and I enjoyed the art. However, it didn't click for me, mainly because Yuuki isn't happy with her soulmate-less life.

This was a very interesting book and I would love to read more from this series. I think it’s a little complicated because there’s a couple of different love interests on the males hide but I think that the leading female role is fun. She is quirky. I also am rooting for the dark haired guy who is doesn’t say that he likes her but he does and then get on really well and is easy and it’s fun and I would 100% read some of the series as the relationship it’s fine it’s quirky it’s cool and I love the little slice of life mangas

Oh my goodness. I really loved this manga. Way more than I expected I would. That live triangle came out of nowhere and now I don’t know who to root for. This one had me blushing and giggling. A girl wants to find her soul mate and a hot guy who is only sweet to her decides he is going to help her. Only for them to slowly develop feelings. Then out of no where her first crush shows up and just puts a wrench in that plan. I can’t wait to see how both these relationships develop in the next!

Thank you so much to Kodansha comics and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this manga. I will say that I loved this first volume rather than Waiting for Spring... I think because it goes into more detail about some of the dangers of being a naive 20-year-old dating and meeting new people and how difficult it can be. I think I just wish that; the volume was longer. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars.

Beautiful! Loved the illustrations, and the story was beautiful as well! Really enjoyed discovering this story and would definitely recommend it

Very cute! This gives me similar vibes to High School Debut, but for a more mature audience. I'm getting bad vibes from the childhood crush no matter how many times the word "misunderstanding" is being thrown around. Rooting for this to have a cute ending!

I read this manga as an experiment with the format, but found it very difficult to get my eyes to read from right to left. Also, I was confused by the changing hair shades of the characters within pages, because the characters of the same gender look very similar. Although I got the idea at one point, I would have preferred the chibi solution. And the story itself is the lead up to an average college romance story, which mostly just tired me out. I found the naivety of our protagonist hard to take, and the guys are either over-idealized or a complete bastard. I couldn't understand their problems and the scenes were forced.

The story is about a college student named Yuuki, who is a hopeless romantic ! Yuuki wants to fall in love, but not only that, she wants to find her soulmate. After getting off on the wrong foot with Iori during her first time at a club, the two quickly become friends. And Iori is out to help Yuuki find her true love !

This a great slice of life manga, and I think any hopeless romantics like Yuuki and myself would enjoy it. I cannot wait to read volume 2 !

Thank you NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read this ARC !

How I Met My Soulmate is such a cute story. It follows the story of our cute protagonist, Yuuki, who’s looking for love and romance after moving to Tokyo for college. But not just any love, Yuuki is looking for her soulmate!

While going to a mixer, she finds herself building a friendship with Iori.

I really enjoyed the story and how refreshing it is to read about how young adults navigate their relationships.

I’m looking forward to finding out how much more the story unfolds! I love how tender the relationship seems to be building and how caring and protective Iori is towards Yuuki.
