There was a lot to like in Dreamer. I loved Sawyer as a character and the way she was portrayed throughout. She's kind, driven and vulnerable. I also loved the relationship she had with her best friend. I was also particularly invested in her business venture.

However, Macey was a difficult character to like for me. There were numerous points where I honestly thought Sawyer should end up with someone else and I was hoping for it to be something other than a romance. Possibly not the best feeling for a romance novel...

I will say though that the plot is unique and I had no idea about the twist. Overall, an interesting read but a few things fell flat for me.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bold Strokes Books for a copy of this novel. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

Kris Brant never fails to amaze me. I didn't see the unusual twist in the story coming, it was clever and unique.
Sawyer Noel is going to a veterinarian seminar in her new electric car when it runs out of power in this little town of Ladybug Junction. She gets some assistance from Macy this hot librarian. They become quick friends, and the attraction is unbelievable . She is everything Sawyer has ever wanted in a woman.
On her way home she has an accident and ends up in the hospital. She has been in a coma because of a head injury . When she wakes up she is staring into the eyes of this neurologist Macey Burr who looks like her Macy. This story has lots of twists and really makes you think about how much people in comas hear and comprehend. Excellent book.

Sawyer unexpectedly finds herself in Ladybug Junction, Alabama when her car breaks down. Things start to look up when she meets the lovely Macey. The chemistry between the two is instant. And just when I thought I knew exactly how this story was going to go, Kris Bryant pulled out a twist I never saw coming. After it happened, I thought I should have picked up on it, but it was so well done, I give Bryant all the credit for pulling it off.
Macey and Sawyer were wonderful characters and I really enjoyed their story and the supporting characters who helped them along the journey to their happily ever after. Kris Bryant never misses, and this is another entertaining read from one of our best authors.

"Dreamer" by Kris Bryant takes readers on a journey to Ladybug Junction, Alabama, where Sawyer Noel's car troubles lead her to a charming town. The plot unfolds against the backdrop of the Fetch Veterinarian Conference, as Sawyer, a doctor, finds unexpected connections with Macey Burr, the town's caring librarian.

I rated "Dreamer" 3 stars as Bryant skillfully develops the characters and creates a warm and inviting setting. The story explores themes of love and self-discovery, with the protagonists navigating the idyllic yet mysterious Ladybug Junction. While the chemistry between Sawyer and Macey is palpable, some aspects of the plot may feel somewhat predictable. Despite this, the novel delivers a sweet and enjoyable romance, blending small-town charm with the discovery of true love. Overall, "Dreamer" offers a delightful escape into the world of Ladybug Junction and the hearts of its endearing characters.

Dreamer, by Kris Bryant is a refreshingly different romance that pulled me into the story and refused to release me until the very satisfying end. I’ve always known I could count on this author to write sensual, romantic, and thought provoking stories, but this one actually caught me by surprise.

I had a bit of trouble with the beginning of this tale, but that was my fault, not the author’s. She gave me plenty of hints about the story. I just didn’t pay attention until it hit me in the face. That’s the moment I truly fell in love with this story, and the main characters Sawyer Noel, and Macey Burr. That’s also when I understood the true connection between these two women. I’m amazed at the level of depth Ms. Bryant put into their stories.

I also need to mention the gorgeous cover of this book. It is simple and yet eye-catching, and it fits the story perfectly.
I truly love Dreamer. It is a wonderful story that I recommend to all Sapphic romance lovers.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for giving me the chance to read and review this novel.

There are things to like in this book, in particular the plot twist, which was an interesting idea with a lot of potential. Also some of the characters work well - one of the leads, Sawyer, is a vet so cue some cute animals; and her friends seem nice. But sadly the plot twist never really amounts to much, as it becomes barely credible. Also the other lead, Macey, just doesn’t read true. She isn’t given much back story or a life so it’s hard to engage with her. Overall the story is ok, but it all got a bit mundane as the drama of the plot twist just didn’t develop. Sadly this one just didn’t hold my interest as much as I thought it would.

4⭐️
This is the story of veterinarian Sawyer Noel and neurologist Macey Burr. Sawyer is on her way to a veterinarian conference when her new car breaks down and she is stranded in a tiny town called Ladybug Junction. There she meets the sweet and caring Macey. Sawyer is looking forward to her next date with her, but then - bam – she runs in a big surprise around the corner.

I didn't see the unusual twist in the story coming, it was clever and unique - well done Kris Bryant. From that moment on, the story really grabbed me, after the beginning was a bit too easy peasy.

Told from Sawyer's point of view, we follow her as she untangles all the emotional and reality chaos and finds her way. Sometimes something good can come out of a bad situation in the end. It shakes you out of your lethargy and makes you realize that you must do something to turn your dreams into reality. It makes you march forward and at least try to make it happen.

Both MCs are well-fleshed-out, caring, supportive, and beautiful women. The struggles are real and understandable and it's nice to see that they don't give up. It is a surprising story with lovable MCs and wonderful side characters, especially Sawyer's best friend Tamsyn and her family, and not to forget the cute furry friends Lady and Bug. Beautifully and fluently written as always by Kris Bryant.

"Dreamer" by Kris Bryant initially brings three words to mind: intricate, tangled, and interesting. I won’t give you specifics for the first two words in that list. You have to read it. Prepare to stay focused throughout because sometimes it was easy for me to lose the thread; I always rediscovered the thread. I can add a fourth word also–surprising. This is not a run-of-the-mill romance. I enjoyed it and found it intriguing (a fifth keyword) in approach, subjects, and pace. I’ve read several Kris Bryant offerings and have always enjoyed her books. This is another keeper.

This was such a fun read! I know I can expect a great read when picking up a Kris Bryant book but somehow I am always amazed at the spins this author puts in the stories.

Dreamer is both about dreaming big and going for your dreams but also analyzing what those dreams mean. I love the double meaning of the title.

Sawyer and Macey are great MC's. Both smart and go for it women who enjoy life to the fullest are good at what they do and know what they want out of a partner. I love how they are with one another and their scenes are really cute.

Bonus points for various animals making an appearance and a BFF who is rock solid.

I rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

This is a romance that really threw me a curve ball. I was getting into the characters and then all of a sudden, the story changed gears. Apparently, the author wrote Dreamer this way for a reason, and I don’t want to say why because it will give away the story. Readers just need to know that the two main characters meet, fall in love, and then have to go through some major upheaval.

I have read many of Ms. Bryant’s books and have enjoyed them. She always has a solid story and well-developed characters. In this book, she has met both of these elements. Readers who like to try to untangle a multi-dimensional plot will enjoy this book. It is not a book for light reading since you need to be alert for changes within the story.

I am a big fan of Kris Bryant's books, but something felt off during the first few chapters. I was about to leave the book and maybe pick it up later in a few months when a very interesting and unexpected plot twist happened. And since that moment is was a typical, great writing and smooth story telling, Kris Bryant's book. I thought the story was something new and interesting and I enjoyed it all the way until the end.

This is a story about veterinarian Sawyer Noel who is driving to a medical conference and her car breaks down in a small town. Local librarian Macy helps her get to the library and access the WiFi to call for a repair service.

This book had a very unique plot and Bryant pulled off a cool switch-er-roo bit was an entertaining book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And she picked the perfect title for this book.

Too. Freaking. Cute.

This book was such a breath of fresh air. I was not expecting that plot twist at all but once I got to the part of the book I couldn’t put it down. Sawyer & Macey were adorable & I loved the “lady” & “bug” thrown in there at the end. Will definitely be reading more from Kris. I received this book as a ARC review. Definitely recommend!

So cute!

Sawyer’s friend convinces her to take a scenic road trip on her way to a veterinarian conference but when care troubles leave her stranded in Ladybug Junction, she is quite taken with librarian Macey. However, things just seem to perfect, and suddenly the truth becomes clear and threatens to change everything.

I loved this so much, but really can’t share too much in a review without it being a huge spoiler for the book, so I’ll keep it brief. Macey and Sawyer are so cute, even when a little tension starts to develop between them. I had to admire the way they handled everything that happened to them from their first meeting to the realisation that Ladybug Junction was just too good to be true. It was just the sweetest revelation though and made my heart melt when I finally learned what had happened.

As usual Kris has managed to back cuteness and fun into this romance, with likable characters who just belong together and share in the most amazing moments. They are both kind and caring, which is probably why they adapted so well to their situation. Plus, it has kittens and who doesn’t love super cute kittens!

I really enjoyed this story and can’t recommend it enough. Romance with a twist that you will not want to miss.

3.5. I didn't read the blurb before diving into this book, expecting just a typical small-town romance. To my delight, I was pleasantly surprised. My recent binge of thrillers led me to anticipate a more intricate plot. I had to remind myself that I was, indeed, reading a romance novel. I hope no one inadvertently gives away too much in their review. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Could have been elevated to a four-star rating for me with both characters' points of view. I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am a big fan of Kris Bryant's books and appreciate that she wanted to do something different with this one, but it didn't quite work for me. I enjoyed the unexpected twist and really related to Sawyer as a character, but thought the other character (Macey) lacked empathy and understanding at times, and this in turn made the couple dynamic feel a little uncomfortable for me as I thought Sawyer was being too accommodating. The twist could have made for a really interesting storyline but unfortunately not much happened afterwards - it was just the protagonists trying to sort out their issues, which made the story lag. I liked following Sawyer's story but overall I struggled to feel invested in the romance.

This pulled me in hook, line and sinker. Sawyer Noel is a veterinarian who wants to open her new practice. I’m not going to share spoilers because the plot is unique and well written. Macey Burr is the love interest. There is strong chemistry between the two and some big obstacles as well. I think I only wished I understood Macey’s feelings a little more. There is a very realistic moment when one shares her feelings and there is a delay in the response. I love the patience in letting the other person process the words and not taking offense that it isn’t instantly reciprocated. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure how Bryant was going to bring off a happy ever after ending. Absolutely recommend. Thank you to Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley for an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review. (4.5 Stars)
