The author and illustrator organize this very informative flag fact book in such a way that readers can see commonalities in flags and how flags have developed.. For example, the flags of Asian countries that have cultural and religious commonalities may share similarities in their flags, which you wouldn't notice unless you studied flags! The parts of a flag are also broken down so readers can easily identify them. My students were excited that we would be getting this book once it is published!

This would be a good reference book. It has many unknown facts. I especially liked how it was organized by continent and theme. I thought it would help young readers understand the history of flags and how the different countries relate.

All About Flags! by Robin Jacobs is an awesome and informative book about flags. I love learning about the various flags of the world and how they came to be. I felt that All About Flags! was well researched and organized. I believe All About Flags! is a great resource for any age. I highly recommend this book! Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own

I did not know I knew so little about the language of flags. They are a so well thought out to truly represent their cause or country with pride.

It is also written in a way that is not information over load. A very useful tool to have around the classroom or home

I cannot believe how much information there is in this little book, and it's brightly illustrated and very well organized.
There are sections on the various parts of the world, with explanations of the designs and the history of how different countries chose their flag designs.
It's fascinating but I feel like I could spend hours with this without learning everything.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

This book is filled with information! So many flags and details to learn about them. I think this book is one to pull out when you are learning about a country and want to look at the flag more in depth. There is a great index of countries in the back that can help you find the country you are looking at! For us, that would be the best way to use this book. I tried to read it through the first time and I'll be honest, doing it that way, some of the flags started to bleed together in my mind. I don't think it's anything the illustrator did, flags just use a lot of similar colors. So I really appreciate the index which allows the reader to break up the information.

Informative and a great introduction to flags for young readers.

This text provides a fantastic introduction to the language of flags, as well as an exploration of how flag designs are connected to colonial/imperial history and national identity. I learned a lot.

Many thanks to #NetGalley for a review copy of #AllAboutFlags

This is a lovely unique book about flags. Instead of focusing much on specific flags, it gives overviews of the features of a flag. It also takes a look at flags in groupings, such as Pan-African flags. It does show the flags of every nation by continent as well. The graphics are colorful and accessible, but possibly skew younger than the text does. However, my 7-year-old who is a strong reader is a great audience for this book.

Thank you NetGalley for an advance ebook in exchange for my honest review. I will purchase for my library.

My son is 10 and LOVES learning about flags. This book was great and gave him some information he didn't know about why certain flags came to be. His only regret was it was a little too short. He wanted to learn even more. But the book does provide a nice overview of information on the flags of the world broken up by continent.

Netgalley sent me a free e-galley in return for a honest review.
