Holy cow this was amazing! The concept immediately drew me into wanting to try this one and it did NOT disappoint! A favorite of the year for me! I am so glad freaking cooper was the love interest because he was who I was rooting for! So so good!

Loved the premise and this book delivered. Frothy and fun, I had so much fun reading this! I can't wait to see what Greenwood comes up with next.

*Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this title. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were in no way influenced by receiving this copy.
Yeah I am obsessed with this book. It was funny from page one and yeah, I could kind of tell from the introduction of a certain side character where this story was going, the ride getting there was FANTASTIC.
The twist at the end was very unexpected for sure so I loved that even though I sort of saw the ending coming, there was still an aspect that kept me surprised. I really loved these characters and I love that Delphie also made friends along the way, with people she's known for years and new people she met on her wacky adventures. Highly recommended by me!

If you are craving a funny, uplifting romance this month, I can't recommend this adorable novel enough, especially for fans of The Dead Romantics.
Delphie's fate takes a surprising twist when she chokes on a mediocre microwave burger at the story's start. Consequently, she is swiftly sent to Evermore, where she encounters Merritt, a romance-obsessed Afterlife Therapist, and Jonah, a man accidentally transported to Evermore due to an unusual system glitch—all in one fell swoop.
After Merritt plays her film montage of Delphie's depressing highlight reel from her childhood bullies to being abandoned by her parents, the bored Afterlife therapist wants to see if Delphie's luck can change. Delphie and Jonah instantly hit it off and have undeniable meet-cute chemistry- could a return to earth offer Delphie the happily-ever-after she's always wanted? Will it be just like her Josie Sliver romance?
Merritt enacts something called the Franklin Bellamy Clause (a clause weirdly linked to IBS) to help her reconnect with her soulmate, a gift she can only initiate once. The clause states that a Dead can be sent back to earth within three hours of arrival as long as they're not known to be deceased, so she offers Delphie the opportunity to do just that, issuing a ten-day ultimatum for her to find Jonah back in the real world and convince him to kiss her of his own free will.
He won't remember meeting her, but their chemistry should be instantaneous if he is her true soulmate. It will be just like Merritt's favorite romance books, and she'll monitor Delphie's progress every step.
With her ten-day mission in place, Delphie activates an unlikely group of allies that include her elderly nonverbal neighbor, an incredibly well-connected librarian who is skilled at gathering intel, and her brooding Timothée Chalamet neighbor who has unexpected literary layers.
As the twenty-seven-year-old virgin sets off on her mission to woo Jonah, the novel builds in hilarious scenes that made me belly-laugh. From wardrobe mishaps that yield a special cream from the pharmacy due to her pants being a tad too tight and alarming the general public to adorkable conversations that are anything but sexy, you'll be rooting for this character as she finds herself embroiled in a love triangle with some surprising twists that I never saw coming.
I especially loved her friendship with her neighbor, which will satisfy readers who love an intergenerational friendship story.
If you miss The Good Place, Merritt offers some Janet moments that build in thoughtful moments, from reckoning with your childhood bullies to the importance of the local community to finding love in unlikely places. Greenwood hit it out of the park with this quirky, magical realism romance novel!

Obsessed with Delphie! I thought she was charming and quirky and remarkably human. This book was so fun- Delphie dies alone only to get sent back to earth by Merritt (the evermore death therapist) to find Jonah who is one of her soulmates per Merritt. The catch- 10 days to find a man she doesn’t know in London and get him to kiss her of his own volition or she goes back to being dead.
I loved the meta references to modern romance favorites and the variety of London locales.
4.5 stars - looking forward to more from this author.

I'm a tough critic, so for me to say this is my favorite romance read of 2024, is a big deal. I absolutely adored this book. I connected with the characters so much, they felt real and flawed, but extremely lovable. I adored Delphie as the main character and I rooted for her from the very first page. The author had an extraordinary way to pull me into Delphie's world and make me see how hard it was for her to let people in. She reminded me a lot of my son who is on the spectrum. He also has a big heart but doesn't connect with others because a lack of social cues. The romance was perfection and I literally had to go back and reread a few of the love scenes because I was so invested. I could read a 1,000 more books just like this one. Five fantastic stars.

Received a digital ARC of this book via NetGalley.
The Love of My Afterlife is like if Bridget Jones died and was set on a quest to find her Mr. Darcy by her guardian angel similar to the angels in Drop Dead Diva. This had the British humor that I adore. Ten days to have your soulmate fall in love with you is quite a time crunch. This was a fast paced romcom and just the book I needed when I needed it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this book without reading the synopsis first and off the recommendation of others, but sadly I could not connect with it enough to keep reading. I think this premise is unique enough to bring readers in, but Delphie felt too much like the “quirky” girl. I think the author has a fun voice and I may give this book another try later when I’m in the mood for something funny and a bit magical.

This book was such a wonderful surprise! So many folks have read it and hyped it up and I gotta admit, the hype is well placed.
"The Love of My Afterlife" has moment of pure tenderness followed by bonker shenanigans. The cast of characters are lovely --Delphie is real and honest, flawed and loveable. Her journey to finding her true love, her truest self was beautiful to see unfold.
The magical realism in this one brings with it something I haven't seen in books. I don't want to say too much and spoil things for the next reader. What I will say is, this one is such an out of this world experience. One I think you will love watching unfold.

Although, I kind of didn't care for the virgin troupe this one reminded me a lot of a light Little Mermaid retelling but instead of getting legs the girl got a second chance at life. It was super cute and made me laugh. I would say don't take this one series at all or you will hate it. Think of it a silly romcom that will get you out of a reading slump super easy. Light and easy to read!

OMG what an unexpected delight! A Rom-com with death, the afterlife, magic and a cranky hot guy? Sign me up!
Layered into the above are sneakily stuck in lessons on friends and family that all rang true. I really enjoyed this. This is my first book by the author and I'll definitely read more. If you like Katherine Center I think you'll like Kristy too!
We're on the clock people. Make the most of it!

⇨Pick this up to bust the slump!!
Oh friends, I can’t tell you how much this book grabbed me up out of my weeks-long reading slump and made me laugh, cry, and swoon for main character Delphie, and the rest of the great cast of supporting characters.
I absolutely loved the witty writing from the moment I started reading, and paired with the great narration by @sofiaoxenham , I was able to let my mind finally escape into this fun story that begins with a death-by-microwave-hamburger. I had no idea where the story would go, but was ready for the ride.
Told with so much humor, heart, self-discovery, and plenty of banter, I was pulled in right away, and each and found myself smiling with every character I met along the way. From Delphine’s eccentric and reclusive personality, to seeing her care for her elderly neighbor, Mr. Yoon, to the hot but grumpy neighbor Cooper, “and all the side characters too.
Giving me all “The Good Place” vibes, I loved the character growth, found family, heartwarming moments, and the realization of choosing who you allow into your life. I literally hugged this book when I finished, and now I need to read everything single thing written by this author, and can’t recommend both the print and audiobook formats enough!
*many thanks to Berkley Romance, prh audio and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

This is a very different romance novel, and I enjoyed, even though I found the FMC to be somewhat annoying a portion of the time. It was a very funny and cute story.

"If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, she’s also now standing in her "sparkle and shine" nightie in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen. And he’s smiling at her.
As they start to chat, everything else becomes background noise. That is, until someone comes running through a door yelling something about a huge mistake and sends the dreamy stranger back down to Earth. And here Delphie was thinking her luck might be different in the afterlife.
When Delphie is offered a deal in which she can return to Earth and reconnect with the mysterious man, she jumps at the opportunity to find her possible soulmate and a fresh start. But to find him in a city of millions, Delphie is going to have to listen to her heart, learn to ask for help, and perhaps even see the magic in the life she’s leaving behind. . . ." -Goodreads
Oh how I loved this book! It was wildly funny but also sweet and romantic. A perfect combination! This book was just so fun and I highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Not only is THE LOVE OF MY AFTERLIFE such a fun and unique concept for a romance novel, but it was also so incredibly funny! It's not many books that can make me laugh out loud while reading -- but Kirsty Greenwood has accomplished that feat!

I unfortunately had to DNF this book. Not sure if this was just a case of right book wrong time, but i genuinely could not get into the story at all. It felt very boring and i found the FMC to just be very annoying and unlikeable. I know many people have enjoyed this books but i sadly just can’t get past that!

Several friends told me to read this one and I'm so glad I did! Delphie has lived a boring, lonely life...which has now ended by choking on a microwaveable burger. She's ended up in what appears to be a laundromat with a perky Afterlife Therapist named Merritt. While there, she also meets Jonah and they share a connection...until he's sent back. Now, Delphie has 10 days to find Jonah and get him to kiss her or else she'll be dead forever. The premise seemed a little cheesy at first, but this book was amazing! I loved seeing how Delphie changes over the course of the book and others change as well. This is definitely going to be one of my top books of 2024. I've never read Kirsty Greenwood before, but I will be reading her backlist now!

With some twists and turns, this book definitely makes you appreciate your life more. I really liked the premise and it was fun, some things didn’t work out for me but I really appreciate nonetheless!

This reminded me so much of the show Drop Dead Diva/Ashley Posten's books! Anyone who loves a touch of magical realism meets a rom-com and loves a book set in the UK will eat this one up! It's truly a delight and so sweet and funny.

Delphie hasn't done much living in her 27 years on Earth, but when she chokes on a microwavable hamburger (how embarrassing), she might get a second chance. After arriving in the afterlife and meeting her over-the-top intake counselor, Delphie has a chance encounter with Jonah, an accidental visitor. After he's sent back to his unconscious body, Delphie is desperate to see what could happen if she had another chance, so she strikes a bargain: 10 days to get a kiss from a Jonah who has no memory of her or the afterlife. What happens next pushes Delphie to consider all the relationships and experiences she's been avoiding through the years.
The story is cute and fun, but characters lack depth and Delphie is not the most likeable protagonist.
