This book contains 50 devotional that take you through the books of Timothy and Titus in a way that helps you understand them as well as how to apply them to your own life. It was intensely practical which I loved. It showed how Paul answered modern day questions like “Do we just give out money to every poor person” we encounter? (location 767); what is Christian mentoring? and more.

A lot of the devotionals made me look at things differently. There was a section on the blessing and curse of internet/podcast pastors. While we now have access to amazing teaching all over the world, it can make us “dissatisfied with our own local church pastors” (location 1379), the pastors who have proven themselves faithful to us over years. It was helpful.

This is a book that will make you think and process the word better. It’s easy to read and understand. I’d highly recommend it.

Thank you to Crossway for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is an excellent work from David Murray. As always his content is easy to understand for the lay person and rich enough for the academic. Well written and thoughtful.
