This was a very sweet book that is beautifully illustrated. I read it with my children and they really enjoyed it.

Two exuberant children find a seed. They put it in a box and sing to it, but nothing happens. It's only when they plant it in the ground that the magic happens. I loved EVERYTHING about this book - the humor, the author's illustrations, and, especially the reactions the kids have to whatever is happening with their seed/plant. This is a real treat for gardeners of all ages.

This book makes me smile so much! It is such a sweet book about the lifecycle of a seed as seen through the eyes of two children observing their world. I also love the addition of the little ladybug on every page to give little eyes something to find. This is a must have for preschoolers who are curious about nature and how the world works.

This book was adorable! It was about two best friends that found a seed. They of course didn’t know what to do with it at first but they quickly figured it out. The illustrations were quite perfect for this quirky little book. I liked that there were life lessons being given in this short story, the life cycle of a plant and also not to give up keep trying until you figure things out. This book would be great for preschoolers or kindergartners.

This is a nice, little story for young readers on how to interact positively with nature. The book has themes of curiosity, problem solving, and success.

My son is a little gardening lover so we definitely enjoyed this one. Great for anyone wanting a cute story about the life cycle of plants/flowers and the seasons.

This was a sweet book about how we need to be in the appropriate place to grow, told through two young children who find a sunflower seed and try several methods to get it to grow.
The artwork is cheerful and colorful, and this would be a lovely addition to any child's collection.

Really nice book. Good for early literacy, has nice opportunity for interaction with gardening theme.

As a former early outdoor educator, I was always looking for books that showcased not just nature learning topics like the life cycle, but also the relationship between humans and the rest of the natural world. Ramsden taps into reciprocal relationships between us (humans) and nature. The idea that plants also experience the world just like us. I loved this book!

Sometimes you have to do a little trial and error to figure out a problem and that is exactly what the children in this book did. Is the seed a friend or something you plant? Also gave a basic starter on what happens when you plant a seed. Loved it.

Cute illustrations, simple to follow story for the preschool crowd. I appreciated the fact this story took the whole lifecycle of the flower into consideration, including death and it's resulting new seeds.

This book is a good early reading text to use as an introduction to the life cycle of the plant for young kids. It could be used as a read aloud or added as a text to a classroom library. I do like that it covers the cycle from seed to plant, to seed production but I wish it offered a bit more. It is very basic and it is very similar to all of the texts introducing plant life cycle to early readers.

I loved this book!!! This is the type of book that is an instant classic. If you can remember any of your childhood experiences they will all come flooding back when you start to read this book. Come a long for the ride and share the fun of childhood all over again with We found a Seed.

A story of the seed cycle! This simple, sweet picture book explores the lifecycle of a sunflower with kids. Expressive illustrations. Thank you for this ARC!

Sweet book about two children finding a seed and how they treated it. Loved the ending. Perfect to get kids interested in the earth, plants, and gardening.
Thanks Net Galley and Scallywag Press for allowing me a temporary ARC to review.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the ARC of Rob Ramsden's delightful book, We Found a Seed. As an early childhood Science teacher for ELL students, I'm always looking for literature that explores Science content in a visually interesting and easy-to-understand way, and this meets my needs perfectly. I cannot wait to share this book with my students as part of our Plants and Living Things unit!
