Miss. Edwina Fine only has one chance to find a husband before her family's secret is discovered by the Ton. Superstition is running rampant, and there are significant rumors surrounding the nature of women in possession of red hair and green eyes. To complicate matters, Edwina is not just a green-eyed, red-headed, but one of three identical triplet sisters. This is practically unheard of in Regency England and is highly suspect. She cannot disguise her very distinguishing features, but Edwina hopes to secure a match before the truth of her unusual birth is uncovered. Her prayers are answered in a shocking way when a proposal from the Duke of Stonerick arrives in the post. Edwina has no acquaintance with the Duke and has significant doubts as to the offer's sincerity, but on the slim chance that the Duke was in earnest, she cannot let the opportunity pass her by
Rick, the aforementioned Duke of Stonerick, enjoys his life of leisure. After the resurgence of a recurrent illness, Rick has a serious realization about his own mortality. His health is weakened, and he has no heir. This realization prompts him to, in a moment of great impulsivity, select a random name from his enthusiastic mother's list of suitable prospective brides. He scribbles out a written proposal before promptly forgetting about what he had done. It's his assumption that the letter was never sent, trusting his mother to know that his impulsive actions were not in earnest.
That night remains forgotten - until the very real Miss. Edwina Fine turns up on his doorstep. The brave and stubborn girl presents him with the letter she has received and makes it very clear she intends to accept his proposal.
This was a unique reading experience as a woman with green eyes and red hair. I'm sadly not a triplet, though. There was a lot that I really liked about this story. Both Rick and Edwina are determined to keep their secrets from the other. This resulted in a back-and-forth dance as they navigate their marriage of convenience while still determined to keep the other in the dark for as long as possible.
*small spoilers:
Rick's relationship with his sisters-in-law was very entertaining, and his task of finding them suitable matches provided some humorous moments. This plot was in many ways verging on silly, but amongst the sillier moments, there were very sweet and romantic interludes. Rdwina was a very determined young lady, but a lot of her worldview is clouded in naivety. The actual relationship between Rick and Edwina was built on an intense instant attraction that deepens as they get to know each other on a deeper level.
Thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review!
Rating: 4.5

I didn’t realize I hadn’t come over and provided feedback on this!! I adore Amelia Grey’s books and this was no exception! This was a fun, well written entertaining read… even though I didn’t click with the hero’s name😉. Thank you for the opportunity to read early!

Sincerely, The Duke was one of those slow-cooked romances that crept up on me. It’s got that lowkey drama, that “do I trust you or nah” tension, and a couple that had me flipping between rooting for them and yelling at the page. The vibe is soft but grown—like it ain’t doing too much, but still got enough to keep me locked in. Amelia Grey’s pen is smooth, and she knows how to drop a moment that hits without being extra.
If you like your historicals with drama, a lil chaos, and a couple figuring it out the messy way—yeah, this one’s for you.

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy! I just couldn't get in the mood for this one, but I do love this author!

Another wonderful historical romance from Amelia Grey! I really enjoy her books!! This one included!!

Excellent read! Great example of what a historical romance should be. The only criticism I have for myself - I wish I had read the first in the series for full enjoyment.

An accidental proposal leads to love in this sweet, delightful book!
The Duke of Stonerick needs an heir, quickly. Edwina needs to marry off her sisters and herself before anyone realizes they’re triplets, or so she’s led to believe by her deceased father who kept them from potential gossip about being witches, as all triplet females must be. When Edwina questions Stonerick’s unwitting proposal, he decides to go ahead and marry her.
What sounds like a cold beginning heats steadily through the story, becoming oh, so romantic as Stonerick works to charm Edwina. He falls first, and watching him learn how to seduce a nice girl is a joy.
Sincerely, the Duke is a quick, enjoyable read, and I can’t wait for the third book in this trilogy!
Thanks to St. Martin’s Press for giving me an advance copy of Sincerely, The Duke via NetGalley. I voluntarily leave this review and all opinions are my own.

Sincerely, The Duke was an enjoyable historical romance with good characters for a historical romance, I did like the MMC more than the FMC but I still enjoyed their dynamic as a romantic pairing. I loved the plot twist that happened throughout the book I definitely found them to make the story a lot more engaging than it would have been without them.

Steam Scale (Number of Scenes): 🔥
Humor: Yes
Perspective: third person from both the hero and heroine
More character focused or plot focused? character
How did the speed of the story feel? medium
When mains are first on page together: Not too far in, about 4% or chapter 2
Cliffhanger: No, this ends with a happily ever after
Epilogue: Yes, at least a few years in the future
Should I read in order?
This is book 2 of Grey’s Say I Do series and I found it readable alone!
Basic plot:
Rick has no recollection of proposing through letter to a Miss Fine until she shows up on his doorstep, demanding he follow through
Give this a try if you want:
- Regency (my assumption)
- Duke hero
- heroine is a triplet
- some secret keeping
- marriage of convenience vibes
- low steam – 1 open door scene without details
Ages:
- hero is ‘nearing 30’ and I think the heroine is around 20
My thoughts:
I really liked some elements of this book! But ultimately it didn’t work the best for me. I loved the idea of the proposal and really the whole theme for this series.
I enjoyed the heroine – she’s protective and sweet and didn’t have a problem with coming to bargain with and claim the Duke that proposed to her randomly through letter. But as the story went on, I never really loved the hero. I found him rather irritating and didn’t like his reactions to things. He seemed short and impatient with the heroine and while she does call him out on it, I just felt like she deserved better.
The whole triplet’s plot was interesting but I felt a bit weird for the high drama it caused?? I just wasn’t expecting the hero’s reaction over it.
Grey writes lower steam, but I do like how she incorporates tension and kisses in her stories. I am usually left wanting more from her though in this regard.

This is the second installment of the Say I Do trilogy. The books are based on the premise of dukes needing to marry in order to have access to their wealth.
Edwina needs to marry before her secret comes out. Out of the blue, she receives a marriage proposal by mail from Rick, the Duke of Stonerick. Counting her lucky stars, she doesn't hesitate to accept his proposal. Rick had sent that proposal under pressure from his mother, and then promptly forgot about it. Imagine his surprise when Edwina arrives to accept. However, the bold beauty catches his attention and captivates him, and he begins to think marriage might not be so bad after all.
They are both harboring secrets between them as they begin their journey, but the story comes to a satisfying conclusion as they work to resolve the challenges between them.
A delightful Regency romance filled with wit, charm, and the kind of emotional depth that keeps readers rooting for a happily-ever-after. Glad to have had the opportunity to read this!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and St. Martin's Press and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I just don't know what ot say about this book. It was a great read. It had humor, sadness, and romance., all the necessary things for an awesome book. It was a quick and easy read

That is one outspoken lady. The duke picks her name from a list. But when he meets her she peaks his interest. So many secrets between them makes the book difficult to get into at first. The story did pick up to be more like other books I have read of this author. And his mother is not one I would want to spend time with. How controlling can she be! The characters did give me strong opinions which always makes for a good book.

This book started out slow for me. It took me awhile to get into it. I’d have liked to see fewer secrets and more spice. Not sure I’ll read more by this author.

Entertaining, engaging read. Book 2 in this series, you have a common type of romance ie man needs to wed, women is offered and also needs to wed so accepts. Their marriage wasn't built on love but they weren't expecting the attraction and to fit either. However secrets can make or break their story. Grey did a great job of telling the story in a way that made the reader feel like it was new and exciting. If you read book 1 there are some returning familiars if you didn't don't let that stop you from reading the 2nd.

Cute story! When Rick is with his mom and feeling ill, he randomly picks a name on a list of eligible women to make his mom leave him alone. He’s stunned a few days later when Edwina shows up at his door to accept his proposal. She is desperate to help her and her sisters marry before people discover they are rare triplets.
I would have liked the romance to be a little spicier, but did enjoy their love story and the adventures of her sisters.

"Sincerely, The Duke" is the second book in the Say I Do series. This book starts slow but has a strong ending. Edwina Fine is in London looking for a husband to fulfill a promise to her father. She is one of the only surviving sets of triplets, and superstition has affected her and her sisters' lives. A proposal letter from a Duke seems like the answer to her prayers if she can keep her birth a secret.
Rick, Duke of Stonerick, has a mysterious fever (likely malaria) and fears for his life. Needing an heir, Rick picks a name from a list while drunk and sends a proposal. Lust at first sight gives Rick and Edwina a stronger start than most marriages of convenience. During their slow engagement, Rick and Edwina find love and start looking for husbands for her sisters. Their secrets cause problems, but love wins out for a happy ending.
Edwina's journey in London is filled with challenges. As a member of a surviving set of triplets, she has faced societal prejudices and superstitions. Her determination to fulfill her father's promise and secure a future for herself and her sisters adds depth to her character. The proposal from the Duke seems like a solution, but keeping her birth a secret becomes a significant obstacle she must navigate.
Rick's character is complex, dealing with his mysterious illness and the pressure to produce an heir. His decision to send a proposal while intoxicated adds an element of unpredictability to the story. The initial lust between Rick and Edwina provides a strong foundation for their relationship, but their slow engagement allows their love to develop naturally. They also take on the task of finding suitable husbands for Edwina's sisters, which adds another layer to the narrative.
The secrets both characters harbor create tension and drive the plot forward. Despite these challenges, their love ultimately prevails, leading to a satisfying and happy ending. The book explores themes of love, duty, and societal expectations, making it a thought-provoking read.
I appreciated the well-developed characters, though I wished the pacing was faster. The story's slow start might deter some readers, but the strong ending makes it worth the read. Despite this book not being as strong as the first in the series, I am still interested in reading the next installment.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin Press who provided me with a copy of this ebook for my honest review.

I lobe love loved this book! I love how submerged in the regency period that Amelia Grey takes me to. I loved the characters and this is the 2nd book in her I do series. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Love!!!

This book reminded me why I went through such a historical romance phase years ago! This was such a sweet, fun read and I absolutely loved the two MCs. The plot kept me engaged and snickering throughout, and the romance was *chefs kiss*. 5/5, already recommended and read book 1!

Edwina Fine is one of a set of triplets that were raised in relative seclusion due to superstition about triplets in the ton. She made a promise to her late father to find matches for herself and her two siblings. Edwina’s job became easier when the Duke of Stonerick, Rick, picks her name off a list to be his betrothed, sight unseen. Rick must find a mate and produce an heir after he has been beset by debilitating headaches. Edwina keeps her secret of being a triplet and Rick does not share that he is ill. The book dragged a bit as there was a slow burn until they finally got together. I also found Edwina’s insistence on finding her reluctant sister’s matches annoying. Rick is a saint for putting up with it all! While this book is part of a series, it could easily be read on its own.

DNF
I unfortunately couldn't get into this one. Everything about it was very "fine", that I just ended up losing interest. The writing also wasn't my favorite.
