Delightful romp! I adore the way Grey leads the characters through the complicated dance of yes/no/maybe/let's do this whole dance again. That's the kind of tension I prefer. Well written! And? Really well researched. I don't think I caught any anachronisms.

Grey takes a very offhand interaction between mother and son that turns into a not-quite-arranged marriage. The dark secret of the heroine is unusual! There is a delicate balance between an outright lie and the misdirected truth.

Can't wait for the next one. And? I liked that one romance that could have been another book was resolved in this book. Thank you!

A mail orderish bride, will it work out?

Hero: Rick, Duke of Stonerick, 30, being pressured by his mother to marry. He suffers debilitating fevers. His over protective life has made him harsh, rude and arrogant.

Heroine: Edwina Fine, youngest of triplets. A little too stubborn and too strong-willed.

He sends her a letter asking her to marry him by mistake, she shows up. There is instant attraction, but she stipulates that he has to find matches for her sister's. They get married, but are keeping secrets from each other.
Finally through a series of events, where trust is broken and rebuilt, Rick and Edwina work through their issues for a hea.

This book was okay. Edwinas supposed confidence, comes across as shrewish. She is bent of shoving her opinions down everyone throat which was very annoying.

Rick, is curt and abrupt but takes care of Edwina and her family every step of the way.. All he asks for her is her trust, but again the whole strong willed Edwina comes across as a petulant child not getting her way

The side character with the whole superstitious nonsense did not resonate with me.

I have read and liked Amelia Grey in the past but “Sincerely, The Duke” was a miss for me. I couldn’t connect with either of the main characters, and especially did not care for Rick, who even in the epilogue doesn’t seem fully present, not least in the father role. Edwina and Rick are so focused on appearances and keeping up with societal expectations that the book felt dry to me. Which was even more disappointing as a redhead with green eyes myself.

Just barely 2 stars. I know Grey can do better so this book would not deter me from trying others. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

I found this book quite enjoyable overall, although there were moments when the pace felt a bit slow. Both characters grappled with trust issues and harbored significant secrets, leading to occasional miscommunications. Edwina's intense focus and assertiveness stood out, and the mysterious illness added an intriguing layer of suspense. The recurring theme of triplets, red hair, and green eyes felt a tad excessive, but despite that, the book maintained a solid quality with likable chapters.

Sincerely, the Duke is the first book I read in the series but I will definitely go back and read the first. I really enjoyed Rick as an MMC. He surprised me as I thought he was going to be this arrogant playboy but he was wonderfully kind and patient to Edwina and her sisters from the start.

Edwina, the FMC, is a bit harder to like. She has some serious daddy issues that get a bit annoying. I get why she is so nervous about being thought of as different based on her being a triplet in a time when they did not have many cases of that occurring but she let it dictate all her actions and it got a bit frustrating at times.

A letter from Rick is accidentally sent to Edwina asking her to marry him. She comes to London to meet him and ask him about the letter. He likes what he sees and needs an heir so he decides to go through with his proposal. Edwina also liking what she sees accepts seeing as it gets her one step closer to fulfilling a promise to her late father. Chaos ensues when the sisters come, Rick’s mom unleashed her superstitious self on the wedding and Rick has to find husbands for the unwilling sisters. It’s a great premise and the writing was overall well done. An enjoyable not quite closed door somewhat steamy book with lots of pining.

Sincerely, The Duke is the second novel in the historical romance Say I Do trilogy about dukes needing to wed to tap into their wealth by New York Times bestselling author Amelia Grey. I was lukewarm about the first book, in the series but love Amelia Grey and was still interested in the second book and characters introduced in first book. I was pleasantly surprised! I loved this book and the premise. I was intrigued from the beginning. The Duke was not in need of a wife to gain his money, but due to an unknown recurring illness he knew he needed to marry and produce an heir. He picked Edwina’s name from a list his mother had and sent a marriage proposal to her. When she showed up, he didn’t remember doing it… but it works out for him and for her even though she keeps secret the fact she is one of a set of triplets and he hides the fact he has this reoccurring illness. They are perfect for each other though and it was a fun, quick read. I liked both these main characters and their story. An enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed the journey that Edwina and Rick went on together. Learning to trust is a hard thing to do when life has had given you reasons not to and they learned together.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I almost gave up but slogged through and finished. The characters came off as unlikeable. Rick is a typical Duke, handsome but not much else. He shoots, races horses and takes care of estate business, not much of a romantic hero. Edwina is a petulant child and he followed his attraction and married her before he knew her a week. She's been educated but has no idea how to interact with people, even her own family. A bully of sorts she spends the entire book trying to impose her will, and her fathers dying wish, on everyone around her. It was tedious.

However he did not think his mother would mail it to the women. Desperate Edwina shows up at the Dukes house regarding g the proposal the Duke wrote her determined to find out if it was true or not. Rick is impressed with Edwin,s strong will and decides to reveal the truth that he is the author of the note she received. So due to each others need to marry the come to an agreement and wed. However both are hiding the real reasons each must marry.

I liked this more than the first, maybe because I liked the characters a little more.
Roderick "Rick" Cosworth, the Duke of Stonerick has debilitating fevers and is afraid he may die young. His cousin and heir has a new baby, so the Dowager Duchess is insisting he marry. Rick says fine, show me your list and I will pick a bride. Edwina Fine is the pick. So he writes a letter, Dear Miss Fine, will you marry me, Sincerely, the Duke.
The following week, letter in hand, Edwina comes to London and shows up at his door. There is a very funny scene where the butler tries to push her out the door along with her twittering aunt, and finally, the Duke comes out to see what the kerfuffle is.
It is indeed the letter, which he thought he threw in the fire, but apparently he threw the list instead, and his mother's secretary mailed it.
Edwin has a condition for the marriage. She promised her dying father she would see her 2 sisters wed also.
What no one knows are the sisters are infamous triplets, unheard of at the time. After her mother died in childbirth, the father took the babies to York, where they have lived for 20 years. She does not tell him she is a triplet and he does not tell her about the fevers.
Ironically, when the sisters finally come to town, no one comments, they just think they look a lot alike, especially since they have red hair and green eyes, which sets hi mother all a tizzy, because they could be evil witches.
However, Rick can easily tell them a part, so it seems like true love to me.
Ironically, the sisters don't want to marry. One wants to become an astronomer and keeps trying to meet the Heschels, famous brother and sister astronomers. (Coincidentally, I just finished the Diamond of London by Penrose about Lady Hestor Stanhope and the Heschels show up in that book as well. Regency London society was relatively small).
The love that grows between the characters is slow and steady, and I look forward to seeing them again in the next book, which will be about Hurst, the 3rd Duke. I also hope to find out what happens to the sisters.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the EARC. Amelia Grey is one of my favorites and I was thrilled to give my honest review.

As a disabled person, I loved seeing a Duke with a chronic illness! Talk about being #seen. Grey writes a stirring and compelling romance - what a treat.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for this ARC! The premise is very interesting – a Duke proposing to a random girl of the ton due to a fever – but I wish I knew more about the main female character in the first half of the book. She becomes much more fleshed out in the second half once her sisters are more involved in the story, but I do wish that we had known a little more about her at the very beginning. The first half of the book starts fairly slow but the second half really moves quite quickly. I really enjoyed the plot of this book but the two main characters had so many secrets they were keeping from each other it took me a long while to warm up to them.

I enjoyed this book for the most part. At times it went slow and never really sped up. The characters both had trust issues, especially Rick, and each kept a big secret from one another until it had to be revealed.
Edwina's focus was to get herself and her sisters married because she swore to her father she would. Even though he never once attempted it because of the superstitions of triplets.
Rick was focused on getting married so he would have an heir if his mysterious illness returned and was the death of him. His personality was not the best at times.
Overall a decent book with likable characters. I am now curious about Hurst's book.

*Regency romance
*marriage of convenience (or is it?)
*immediate attraction

After reading (and not loving) the first title in this series, I was a little wary about picking this one up but I wanted to try the author’s work again, so when I saw this one available on NetGalley I decided that there was no time like the present to read another novel by the author, and I’m really glad that I did 🙂

I adored this and look forward to reading more by the author.

This was a fast-paced, swoon-worthy read, that I found I did not want to put down! The story was fresh, original and exciting with characters that are realistic and likable. Great read!

I requested to read and review this book for free from St. Martin Publishing Company. This book has drama, romance, and mystery. Edwina made a promise to her father and she plans on keeping that promise no matter what. Rick is set in his ways and doesn't think anyone or anything can tie him down. Can two people from different social status find love with each other or are they too different to work. Will their secrets hurt themselves each other and the people around them. This book can be read anywhere but by a mature reader.

Sincerely, The Duke was a very sweet romance. What I enjoyed the most was how certain Rock was that Edwina was one for him, even if he didn’t recognize his feelings as love until much later. It was also fun to see the main characters overcome various obstacles spread throughout the book, right up to the final secrets being revealed at the end. This helped keep the story moving along.

The side characters were also delightful, from Rick’s mother to Edwina’s sisters and aunt. Each interaction between the main characters and their families endeared me even more to the two of them and showed their strong personalities and values.

I will say there were sections where the action was slowed down by lots of internal dialogue mixed into the conversation. I like to know what a character is thinking, but not when it takes me away from what they are actually saying and doing with each other.

That being said, this book was interesting for the unique superstitions that impacted the main characters, and it was satisfying to see how Rick and Edwina came together in the end. I’ll look forward to seeing if Eileen is next to share her adventures!

Interesting superstition on triplets born in the regency era and how undiscovered diseases were treated. I felt the first encounter between Edwina and the Duke ran a bit too long with multiple chapters taking place at his home office. After that the pacing picked up and the slow burn started to sizzle. Really enjoyed reading the Duke’s attempts at not falling for his wife.

This book was a sweet and simple marriage of convenience regency romance! If you liked the first book in this series, you will most likely enjoy this book! It is very similar to the plot and characters of the first book. It focused a little less on miscommunications, instead, the main conflict came from both of the main characters keeping secrets from each other, which I enjoyed more. It was a simple read but enjoyable!

Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
