Natalie decides to go on the popular reality show called “Wild Adventures” for her chance to win the prize at the end of this show. For this season of “Wild Adventures,” all of the contestants are college students and need this $10k prize money for their college tuition.

Before the competition starts, she meets a fellow contestant named Finn, who is anything but friendly. He makes a lot of grunting sounds and doesn’t seem to talk much. In fact, Natalie is pretty sure he doesn’t like her.

When the competition starts, Natalie and Finn end up together. Great. Just great. How is Natalie ever going to get along with her teammate if he’s barely talking and acknowledging her? Will Natalie be able to break Finn and start up a friendship? Will Natalie win the money at the end of the competition?

I love Kaitlyn Hill’s writing. There’s a sweet quirk to it that makes all of the characters so lovable and it makes for a fun read. There were definitely a few parts where I laughed out loud and while I don’t know much about hiking and the Appalachian Trails, I did enjoy reading this book as if I knew what was going on. The author explained everything so well without being dry or boring. This was definitely a great read and I highly recommend it if you need a mood booster!

This book was such a fun weekend read. I’ve been wanting to read something lighthearted and charming and that was this book. It was so sweet and swoon worthy.

I wanted to enjoy this when far more than I did. I found the characters somewhat annoying, and things felt very unrealistic, even for fiction which was related to a reality TV show. I liked the fact that the main character had anxiety issues, but it took up large portions of the book, which overshadowed some of the other aspects of the story. Overall, this is an okay YA romance.

First time reading this author and I’m glad I did. This book was provided by netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review. This is a fun, YA rom com. A bit slow paced but likable characters. Anxiety representation done well. I would definitely read more by this author. Really enjoyed this story.

I love the cover so much. It was so cool reading a book that’s set where I live. I actually knew the places they were talking about. This book was so cute but so much more. I relate to both the main characters. The female has anxiety and I relate a lot too. The male recently lost his father so he is grief which I also relate too recently losing my mom.

I absolutely devoured this amazing book in two sittings and haven't stopped thinking about it since 😭 this book made me feel EVERY single emotion. I cried, I kicked my feet, and I sat at work for three hours with a huge grin on my face that I couldn't control 🤭

So, let me say again, THIS BOOOOKKKK 😭

Wild About You is a YA contemporary following Natalie & Finn - two college students working together on a reality TV show where they're hiking & camping 🏕️ ✨ this book has an incredible enemies-to-lovers forced proximity romance & also discusses anxiety & grief in a way that wrecked me. I connected sm to Natalie and loved getting to read her story 🫶

This book gets a beautiful five stars from me (and honestly, I'd give it six if I could)

This was a fun and cute romcom. The characters are very relatable. The writing really helps draw the reader into the story and connect with the characters. Natalie Is clearly outside of her element but has a determination that is admirable. Finn comes in with a chip on his shoulder, that Natalie quickly knocks off. As the book progresses Natalie and Finn discover they have more in common than they think. And they are well suited for each other. The other cast of characters are equally charming and the friendships that form are great. I also enjoyed the incorporation of anxiety as this is something that many people struggle with and I think the book brings awareness to it and will help many readers feel less along in their own struggles. This book was a quick read and didn’t bog down at any point.

I want to thank Random House Children's Books and NetGalley for providing me with an egalley of this book to read and give my honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.
When you need money, you'll go to just about any extreme to get it. That's why Natalie Hart signs up for the reality TV show, Wild Adventures. But when her sunshine is paired with grumpy Finn Marcum, she's sure she's chosen wrong. Through their adventures, they grow close, and from the forced proximity a friendship, and more, evolves. But can they ultimately win the money, and each other's hearts?
I love a good YA romance. They are clean and fun and the tension between the characters is fun to watch. I was prepared for a slow burn from this one but the love interest actually took off sooner than I thought it would. Either way it was fun to watch the two main characters have their adventures.
Natalie started off as a high maintenance girl. She fills her backpack with all types of skin care products she refuses to leave behind. And, being a drama major with the hopes of becoming an actress, she talks up the cameras a lot. At first it turned me off a bit. But then she slowly transforms into more than just what you see on the outside. She has so many nuances to her character. Hill did a great job in helping her evolve and develop. It was fun to watch her learn. Finn, on the other hand, is Mr. Grumpy, and I was not a fan of his at first. He was very standoffish and definitely erected a wall between himself and Natalie. But she slowly wears that wall away, and helps him find more of his own sunshine.
I wasn't all in for the chemistry with these two. I think this was mostly because it was told in first person from only Natalies point of view. For me, romances work so much better in dual point of view. It seemed to me the author was more interested in telling Natalie's story than Finn's but at the same time, I don't feel like I truly go to know Finn. Natalie's personality and character overshadowed him.
The plot was fun. I love a good survivor type show and this one gave me those feels. It was also nice to see the history of the Appalachian Trail worked into the story line. I enjoyed learning the tidbits the author chose to share. I don't know much about Kentucky or Tennessee so it was fun to learn that a bit. I especially liked that the author chose to incorporate Natalie's anxiety into the plot line. This is such a wide spread mental illness that so many do not even know they have. The author took good care to show the spirals that happen with anxiety and also giving the audience information on how such things can be handled: therapy, medications, meditation, etc.
I felt like the side characters were fun but would have liked to see a bit more of them. I feel like the only character I understood anything about was the female enemy. We got what she was all about right away. Overall the characters were relatable and real. I can see how people would easily see themselves in these characters.
The pacing was good with this book. I wasn't truly hooked until the romance took off, to be honest, which seemed to be about half way through the story. I enjoyed watching the banter between this unlikely couple.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. It was cute. This was my first Hill book and it seems her books are connected through her characters. But you can definitely read this one as a stand alone. I think readers who enjoy Lynn Painter, Kasie West, and Stephanie Perkins will enjoy books by this author.

This was adorable! It was a quick read and the characters were very relatable! Their story was so cute and sweet. The writing style was super easy to read! Natalie was hilarious and I loved watching her relationship with Finn grow. Finn is your classic grumpy mmc but it was done well! I loved watching his character develop as well.

Thank you netgalley for the eARC!

Okay, wow! This book totally took me by surprise and I absolutely loved it! I'll admit that in the beginning the FMC, Natalie, was a little much for me. But I clearly misjudged her, as do most of the people in her life. I was not expecting this story to be so funny and adorable and yet also touch so graciously on heavier topics such as anxiety and losing loved ones. I really enjoyed the AT setting, the grumpy/sunshine trope, and all of the challenges that Natalie and Finn must overcome. This was such a fun romcom and I would love to see this as a movie. Highly recommend!

Thank you to Random House Children's, Delacorte Press, Netgalley, and Kaitlyn Hill for the digital ARC.

This book was a cute, quick summer read. I loved how positive the main character was and how optimistic she was, even when things didn’t go her way. This is the kind feel good story I needed while on vacation!!

The tension & banter between Finn & Natalie was so good & this was such a cute, fun & emotional story. The book touches on subjects like anxiety & grief and I though the author did a great job representing that in the story. Finn & Natalie are the complete opposite of each other & didn’t have the best start but it was so fun to see that change & their relationship flourish with each obstacle they faced.

The only thing I wish this book had was his POV, since it’s told entirely from Natalie’s POV. I would’ve loved to know what was going on through Finn’s mind during certain scenes but other than that I really enjoyed this!

Thank you Kaitlyn Hill & NetGalley for the ARC!

This was a super cute YA romance with a unique twist on reality shows and forced proximity. I'm also a sucker for a grumpy/sunshine romance, and this definitely delivered! And though this was YA it dealt with some heavier topics like grief and anxiety.

Feeling like an outcast in her own family, Natalie decides to risk it all and apply for a spot on the reality television show Wild Adventures. Even though she prefers skin care to dirt smeared cheeks, and her idea of roughing it is a hotel with an unstable wifi connection. After being accepted on the show, she is paired with Finn, who is struggling with his own family issues. Though the two dislike each other, eventually the forced partnership for the show, becomes something a little more real.

Wild About You is set to be published on May 21, 2024. Thank you to Random House Children's, Delacorte Romance, NetGalley and the author for the digital advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved this book with all of my heart! I was already talking about with all my romance reading coworkers, before I had even finished it, telling them that they need to pick it up as soon as it comes out!

From the beginning, I could immediately connect with Natalie and her anxieties, as someone who has struggled with having an anxious disorder since I was young. I just hope that I am lucky enough to have a wonderful partner in my life, like Finn.

The love that they have for each other warms my heart, just thinking about it. Getting to see them grow together and bring out the absolute best in each other.

This is the perfect book for anyone that wants to dip their toe into the romance category and the will find themselves loving it fir ever, I wood bet money on it!

This book was so much fun! My 2nd book in a row about a reality show - who knew??

Natalie & Finn are the exact people you'd want to see on a reality show like in the book. They're hilarious, smart, and flawed, like only the best people are.

If you like "The Amazing Race" and any dating reality show then you should love this book. I definitely recommend it!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

College is not what Natalie expected and she is really struggling. Her battles with anxiety have affected her grades and her scholarships. Desperate to find a way to pay for college, she auditions for a reality show about hiking the Appalachian Trail. It's the college student version, with a $100,000 scholarship as the prize. She is paired with the very grumpy Finn. Fortunately Finn is an experienced hiker and backpacker. As they make their way through the challenges, they learn to work together, opening up to each other, and eventually becoming friends. This is a fun romance/survival book with a lot of sweet moments. It is a great summer romance. For grades 9 & up.

This one took me a little bit to get into, but overall I thought it was a cute book! I definitely think I would’ve enjoyed it a little more if it was dual pov.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

I liked this book just not as much as I'd hoped that I would. I loved the wilderness setting, but wanted more tension and sparks between the two main chracters.

This is a sweet, fun story. It’s filled with adventure, emotions, and fun.

Natalie and Finn are grouped together as partners on a wild adventure reality tv show. They seem to be opposites and have quite the rocky start. It is so much fun watching them navigate the challenges, get to really know each other, and form such a sincere bond.

This story touches on self-doubt, anxiety, and loss and is infused with wit and humor and great emotions. It’s a cute, sweet story with great characters and a beautiful setting.
