Gosh. I truly loved this story in so many ways. Read more of a YA vibe, but it was definitely a fun plot - something different than anything I had come across before.

This book was so much fun! When I first started it, I almost thought it wasn’t going to up my alley, but I was so wrong. The chemistry, the humor, the setting…it was a great combination. The setting alone made it unlike any other book I’ve read

This book is just precious. I love how Kaitlyn's books have all focused on reality shows, but each in their own way. Wild Adventures is Amazing Race meets Survivor, and listening to FinNatalie's trek gave me all sorts of endorphins. You've got the classic grumpy/sunshine pairing, the reality show foe in Enemi, and some twists along the way. As someone with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, I really identified with Natalie's struggles with anxiety. And man, the outdoors can be like *magic* for it. But I enjoyed the discussion of therapy and medication at the end as mechanisms that support each other.

Also can we talk about the book that Natalie is reading? Because I want to read that!

What should have been a fun trope-filled camping adventure romance, complete with mental health talks and learning to love yourself while competing in a reality tv show was indeed that, but it also featured, for me anyways, a rather annoying MC. Natalie is a potty-mouthed obnoxious and childish (she refers to a competitor on the show as "Enemi" the entire book) character for most of the book, and I just didn't really like her all that much. She could be genuinely funny or clever sometimes, which was nice, but overall I didn't like her vibe. Finn is an angsty mean guy for no good reason at the beginning, and I really struggled to like him until his character vastly improved, and he became the best part. I'm solidly in the "Natalie doesn't deserve him" camp. There was a spot just past the halfway mark where I was really enjoying the story, and even the two characters together, but it was short-lived. The back half was still markedly better than the first half, but there was a lot of predictable annoyances in the back half.

Okay, have I ever read a reality tv competition book where I liked that aspect of the story?? Even when it's objectively well-done and I don't have any complaints about it? I don't think so, so probably time to steer away from those.

This book follows Natalie, a college student looking to earn some money by winning an outdoor/ wilderness TV show competition. Natalie is an actress, in school, and needs to win this money to continue there. Her family is unsupportive of her dream and she is doing her best to do what she needs to do. Could she have worked this summer, obviously, but winning a large amount of money, while using some of her acting skills, is a better bet. She is paired with the stoic and grumpy Finn. Finn is from Vermont, knows the outdoors and camping and thinks Natalie is ridiculous.

This was your classic grumpy/sunshine, falls for each other, opposites attract romance. Finn and Natalie don't really have too much in common but forced proximity and only one tent have a hand in making them learn to like each other and even trust each other to succeed at the TV show challenges and attempt to win.

Both characters were fun and stubborn. I found this book to be really entertaining, yes it was cliche in a lot of ways but that is what I needed. It was a pretty soft and easy read and I think that if you like the outdoors it will hit in ways you will enjoy.

I liked that they were running around the AT, the challenges were fun and funny at times and the banter was good. Overall, this was a cute and fun romance that would be a great summer read by a lake.

"Wild About You" is a fantastic YA novel by Kaitlyn Hill! It's centered around Natalie, a theater'-loving college student who is desperate to win money so she can stay in college. When she sees an advertisement for the reality TV show Wild Adventures and its $100,000 prize, she spontaneously decides to sign up. Wild Adventures is like a mix of Survivor/Amazing Race/The Challenge -- all of which Natalie has nothing in common with. She packs her entire makeup supply and takes off for her new adventure. Upon arriving, she learns that each player will be put into teams with total strangers. When Natalie -- loud, outgoing, and dramatic -- gets paired with Finn -- quiet, introspective, and serious -- she's convinced this will be a total bust. But along the way, they learn that their differences may actually be what makes them the perfect team.

I enjoyed reading about how Natalie learned to believe in herself, and the honest portrayals of anxiety and the way it holds us back. I also liked reading about the Great Smoky Mountains and the Appalachian Trail. This was a really cute book, and I greatly enjoyed reading it! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This story follows a young woman who is off to a race outdoors for a reality tv show and her partner is a grumpy man. I’ve read Hill’s previous novel but I have to say that I enjoyed this book a lot more. I loved the storyline that Hill created and it was so well-written. I do have to say that for me personally, the reality tv show challenges were kind of hard to keep up like like stops mainly. If there was a map in the book, that would have been so helpful and very easy to imagine. I did enjoy the mental health awareness for this book and how these young women and men never gave up. This story only follows Natalie’s pov.

Natalie is the FMC of this story who is looking to earn the prize to pay for her college. I loved her character and how she was such a bright person. I do wish we got to see her parents in the book but I’m glad to see her find new friends that are her family. Then we have Finn, who I wish we got his pov but I still liked his character. He’s there for his own reason but I loved how began to fall in love with Natalie. There are many side characters in this book and I loved the new friends of Natalie. The romance in this book is grumpy x sunshine and one bed which was so well done.

The epilogue was well done but I do have to say that the ending kind of dragged a bit. The story was well done and I loved the campaign/ reality show storyline of this book. It was fun and very enjoyable. I recommend checking this book out because you won’t want to miss out.

What’s not to love about a grumpy sunshine, forced proximity and only one tent story about college students hiking a portion of the Appalachian Trail in hopes of winning a scholarship? Natalie and Finn are randomly paired up together as partners in the reality hiking/adventure show and it’s clear from the get go that they are two different people. But once they get past their initial impressions and learn that they actually share something in common their attraction towards each other doesn’t seem so taboo anymore and something they can explore.

This is a fun easy to read story that also handles some difficult topics with ease. The topic of grief is something both of them have experienced in different ways and I think once they had that conversation together it created a more solid foundation for their partnership and relationship. I think Natalie and Finn both brought out the best in each other through their own unique ways and made a great team. If YA romance is your jam then definitely add this to your tbr.

Thank you publishers and @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

LOVE this book, LOVE this author! Such a fun story in the best setting. If you love reading about the great outdoors while you're actually more of what you'd call an "inside girl", this is for you. And if you don't already, please follow this author on insta, she's the best

This was such a cute little cozy romance story, which was a complete 180 from the YA horror that I reviewed earlier today. Wild About You is a fun love story about two people falling for each other after being paired up for a survivor-like reality TV show. The main character, Natalie, is 19 years old and in college, so I would probably classify this as a new-adult novel. There are no sex scenes, so it’s also a clean romance.

As someone who reads all ages, there were times where I felt like certain plot lines lended themselves towards spicier scenes, but I also understand that spice while on reality TV wouldn’t really make sense. Additionally, I know that it can be difficult for readers to find spice-free romances amongst all of the popular titles that are thrown around, particularly those on TikTok, so this would be a great option for them. I’m pretty sure the other novel from Kaitlyn Hill that I’ve read (Love From Scratch) is also clean.

The book itself is very lighthearted, with most of the drama coming from miscommunications and the main character’s struggle with her anxiety disorder. The male love interest, while a bit prickly in the beginning, is a huge cinnamon roll at heart, so watching these two confront their feelings for each other was innocently heartwarming. It was a very quick read (finished in one seating) and is the perfect cozy book for you to escape to when you’re feeling the stress of the outside world.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this novel. 4.5/5 stars.

Slightly late getting this read, but OH MY GOD. I loved the last romcom I read by this author and this was no different. I really liked this one because it, quite literally, also called out all the tropes and romance reads and just like....her and Finn? SWOON. Also, the premise is perfect for summer. I loved how it turned from grumpy-sunshine into adorable banter and finally the moment where I was like OMGGGGGG.

And besides being a cute, adorable, witty romcom, it also deals with grief and has fantastic anxiety rep...including HOW TO BE A PARTNER for someone with anxiety.

Also, just...IYKYK...FINN'S LETTER. **cries**

Anyways, this was adorable and so cute and the banter and the jokes and the premise? ugh, so good. TBH I only deducted 1/2 a star because sometimes the game element was a bit underdeveloped and also...yes, every now and then the FMC was a TAD annoying...but also she was playing a trope and acknowledged herself doing that so....

This was such a sweet way to close out the month! I loved this YA romance more than I thought I would, instantly falling head over heels for Natalie and Finn.

Natalie is hilarious and outgoing, a must when you’re a theatre girlie. She joins this adventure for the prize money, not realizing she’s going to gain a lot more from the experience. She remains tough in the face of challenges, both in her mind and on the trail. Pushing on, she shows she’s more than just a pretty face.

Finn is the adorable grump who is misunderstood from the start. He may not put his best foot forward with Natalie, but his grief overshadows his compassionate side. Once he realizes she’s a soft place to land, his sweet and funny personality shines. He’s the encouraging romantic partner everyone strives to find!

While I normally love dual POV, this was a great case where single POV worked better. The build up we get of Natalie developing a crush was just so adorable and reminded me of being that age, and the anticipation of Finn revealing his feelings was perfect.

Things I loved: the nature puns, the genuine anxiety and grief, cute nicknames, mini golf, the pop culture monologue (iykyk), and so much more.

I’d love to explore the side characters too, I feel like they had interesting stories to share. I already know I’ll be grabbing anything else by Kaitlyn!

This book was so fun and the perfect summer read!

Not sure if it is technically categorized as YA, but our main characters are in college and are embarking on a Survivor meets Amazing Race style reality series set in the Appalachian mountains to earn scholarship money, and it was such a unique storyline and I am obsessed.

I'm a sucker for camping romances or even ones set in National Parks (I have very unique trope interests apparently) so when I read the synopsis, I had to read it. Wild About You absolutely delivered on everything I could want in an outdoorsy romance: just-one-tent, omg-you-almost-died, long-conversations-on-the-trail, and your-pheromones-drive-me-wild.

Natalie and Finn could not be more opposite, yet they work well together in the most extreme of circumstances and watching them both open up to each other, while bonding over similar traumas, was beautiful. Watching them navigate the odd world of outdoor adventure filming for a reality show was so fun, and getting to see the secondary characters compete made it feel like you were truly immersed in this reality show.

The audio was also incredible, so if you are into that, I highly recommend. The narration was wonderful and the voice acting was so easy to listen to.

This was a cute and easy romance to read. Finn was a great grump that ended up not really being a grump. Natalie and him were great together and I enjoyed the outdoor/adventure aspect to it. I loved the very real mental health representation.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

This book took a while to get going but was worth the wait. We know from the beginning that Natalie and Finn will fall for each other the question is HOW they will go from a seemingly incompatible mismatch to lovers- which is every romance writer's challenge. Their eventual "hook up cute" on the closed mini-golf course was unique, great fun and hella hot. Occasionally I got frustrated with the pacing and Natalie's anxiety-addled erroneous conclusions, but anxiety can be just that - frustrating. I liked that the lovers has loss in common, and the way they opened up to each other was touching and believable.

I LOVED this book! I was in the mood for a romance book with some twists and this was perfect! I love the reality tv aspect, as well as the obvious grumpy-sunshine trope, but the author did such an amazing job tying this all together while still also focusing on deeper issues like Natalie's anxiety and learning to accept things and cope. The Appalachian Trail is close to where I live and I grew up hiking it all the time (I requested the book as soon as I saw McAfee Knob) and reading such a cute idea for a show on the trail while falling in love really made some dream of mine a reality! This book was great!

Cute summer romance featuring a teen wilderness challenge. I liked the pairing of Natalie and Finn, they're a grump/sunshine couple forced to work together and overcome obstacles to win scholarship money. The story is well paced and jumps right into the woods and the friendships Natalie made throughout were super cute.

Another hit YA romance from Hill!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to Delacorte Press and NetGalley for the copy.

(rating based on vibes and my feelings!!)

Y’all. This book has probably altered the trajectory of my life, if I’m being real with you. I have so many feelings (in a good way… I think).

WILD ABOUT YOU follows Natalie in the summer after her freshman year of college after she is chosen to compete in a reality TV competition in the Great Outdoors. She has been dealing with tough stuff and really needs to win the competition so she can pay her tuition, but she’s… not very athletic. Enter Finn, her grouchy new partner who is very outdoorsy but not very friendly. Natalie has more than enough sunshine to counteract his grumpy for the cameras, and she knows this is perhaps the performance of her life. But can she stave off her anxiety and be the badass she knows she can be… and maybe even embrace the romance that waits around the corner?

Easy stuff first: the plot is absolutely SO fun! The grumpy-sunshine comes in a little heavy at first, but the dynamic works SO well here. Watching the reality show plot by being in the eyes of the participants was fun, and Hill plays on the realities behind “reality” TV, which I loved. This book is fast-paced and dives deeply into the characters in a way that is so sweet and lovely, GAH. And again, the ROMANCE is so sweet and precious and there are so many squeal-worthy moments.

The hard stuff: the anxiety representation is so strong. That is NOT a criticism, but maybe a trigger warning?? It was beautiful and really impactful for me, to the point that I cried way more than I expected to. Look, this may just be a me-thing, as someone who is exploring the possibilities of her own mental health. Regardless, Natalie’s character development pierced me in a way that hurt but that I knew was GOOD.

So I recommend this contemporary romance to my anxious girlies who want to find love as they fight to love themselves. This story is wonderful, and I’m so so glad I read it.

I couldn't connect to the FMC at all. The premise of the story was intriguing but the way it was composed didn't come together. There were some sweet moments but overall it needed to be less cliche and more depth.
