2.75⭐️; 1.5🌶️ there are a few steamy scenes and one spice scene but nothing super detailed
I really loved Today, Tonight, Tomorrow when I read it soon after I graduated high school and I think I would still enjoy it if I went back and read it today. I loved being able to follow them through such an exciting day in their lives while they figure out that they were meant for eachother.
That being said, I understand what the author was trying to do with this one but I really think it could’ve been an epilogue. This book follows Rowan and Neil as they go off to college and try to make long distance work. I don't know if it's just because I had a failed long distance relationship or what but I did not enjoy watching them struggle through one in this book. I felt like this was very much just a character study with a side plot of romance and I just didn't care about them enough to really enjoy it.
The end had some great life lessons but the rest of the book…just kind of fell flat. If you loved Today, Tonight, Tomorrow and are dying for more of these characters, I'd say give it a try. But it just didn't do it for me.

This made me scream cry it was soooo good. I loved the honest, open discussions about relationships and sex. It felt so real and so fairy tale like at the same time.

Thank you to Simon Audio for the review copy!

Past Present Future takes place shortly after Today Tonight Tomorrow ends, and I do not think you’d get the same enjoyment out of the book without reading Book 1! (Plus, it’s one of my favorite books, so why would you skip it?)

I absolutely adored Today Tonight Tomorrow, so I was immediately excited when Rachel announced that she was writing Rowan and Neil a sequel! But once I got my hands on it, I was oddly concerned about actually reading it. What was going to happen *after* their HEA? How could she top that tension-filled enemies to lovers whirlwind? I didn’t *want* to see them suffer. But it was absolutely worth it!
Rachel tackles so much in PPF, and it all flows together so well. Rowan and Neil are off to their first year of college - separate colleges. I don’t know about you, but I still viscerally remember how difficult the start of freshman year was. (It IS universal for us gifted kids to fall apart over our first “bad” grade, right?)
On top of the normal trials of freshman year, Neil starts to experience health problems, and is still healing from childhood wounds. Rachel does an amazing job of writing this journey with such empathy.
I do wish that the New Adult label was more widely used, because PPF feels very NA. Rowan and Neil continue to explore physical intimacy, and I think this is done in a YA-appropriate way (clear, but not spicy), but it may be content that some YA readers aren’t ready for. (Not a critique! Readers of all ages have different comfort levels with physical intimacy scenes, and YA covers a particularly wide age range.)
If it were up to me, we’ll get a Book 3 as Rowan and Neil navigate other stages of life! I love them so much.
🎧 Rebekkah Ross also narrated Today Tonight Tomorrow, and did fantastic work. I love that for Past Present Future, a narrator was added for Neil’s chapters! This was excellent on audio.

I adored Today, Tonight, Tomorrow and so I was delighted when Rachel Lynn Solomon announced a sequel in Past Present Future. And I know that when you have a sequel to a romance there is going to be something that challenges the couple. I thought that I was prepared for that, particularly since Rowan and Neil are freshmen in college in this book. The problem, for me, was that I wasn’t quite prepared for the heaviness of this book.
Essentially, Neil goes off to college in New York and Rowan is in… Boston, I think. So they’re on the same side of the country and only a train ride away from one another. However, they obviously don’t get to see each other that often and they both want to find their own place at their respective colleges. They manage all of that well, until Neil hits a depressive episode spurred on, in part, because of a letter he receives from his dad.
Ultimately, although I think this book will be great for teens, for me, the conflict felt a bit jarring and like the pacing of the book overall just didn’t quite work. That said, I recognize that this book is not an adult romance novel. It’s a YA romance/coming of age. And so, I’m left with the sense that this book did what it set out to do, but it was not exactly the book for me or the book that I wanted it to be. And that is okay! So I still recommend this book, for high school/college students especially.

I loved Today Tonight Tomorrow so I had high expectations for another feel good book about Neil and Rowan. Instead I just felt anxious and the writing felt a bit repetitive. I wanted more happy moments.
One small thing that particularly bothered me, as someone who works for Hillel, was that Neil went to Hillel the Friday of Thanksgiving because I don’t know if any Hillels that are open that Friday. I’m glad Neil found comfort at Hillel at a time when he was so alone, but it was just an unrealistic scenario.

Absolutely fantastic plot! Could not put the book down once I began reading it. Glad this book is finally released. I will recommend it to everyone I know!

Today Tonight Tomorrow is one of my favorite YA contemporary novels of all time. Rowan and Neil have such a special place in my heart, so I was SO excited when this sequel was announced. I screamed when I got this arc. I'm happy to say that I LOVED Past Present Future. One of my favorite things about T3 is how Rowan starts to embrace the idea of growing into an unexpected version of herself, and all the possibility that comes with graduating from high school and heading off to college, so I loved getting to see her follow through on that and come into her own a little as a writer. I also loved that we got Neil's POV in this one, even though it was borderline too relatable at some points.

Thank you for this book in exchange for my honest review.
I wanted to like this book. Unfortunately, I could not get into it. From the get-go, Past, Present, and Future did not clench me.

I couldn’t believe that Neil and Rowan get a second book when they’re in college. Past Present Future I enjoyed seeing them fall in love in the first book and this second explores their long distance relationship and although they are far they are very much together on page. There are some heavier topics discussed so be prepared.
I absolutely loved the epilogue and I hope we get a third book of them as adults.

I was so much more invested in this book than the previous one. I really liked the dual pov which I wish we had for the first book. ngl tho it took me two pages into Neil's first chapter to realize the pov switched but that's just bc I'm kinda stupid.
for a little bit in the middle of the book i thought there was gonna be a pregnancy but thank god that was just her iud being weird
same thing with the other book but the age rating is wack bc saying this is for 14+ when there's on page sex that's semi-descriptive is insane. if I were rating this series I would say both books are 16+.
neil and rowan have such a cute relationship that flips most of the expected characteristics in romance novels, they're the same height (5'5") and rowan is slightly older.
this book explores what happens when just love isn't enough and how to keep a relationship going through distance and big life and/or mental health changes.

Great pacing. I listened to this one and got the arc from netgalley. I didn't read the first one, but everything made sense. It's a nice young adult romance.

I am SO in love with this book… it may just be the best sequel I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading! I missed Neil & Rowan so much, and I had the best time being back in the their world.
As someone who just finished her first year of uni, each of their experiences/struggles were so understandable and easy to relate to. They handled long distance so well, and I seriously can’t think of a single thing that I didn’t like. Every second was beyond enjoyable. I wish they were real so I could hug them—Neil for burying his emotions and feeling that his issues make him a burden, and Rowan for her own doubts and burnout.
I’m so proud of them both. I cried after the last chapter, took a break, and then cried all over again during the epilogue. I’m so happy that they’re happy. My heart is bursting. I’ll be thinking of them nonstop for the next 2-3 weeks🫶🏾

I adored this follow up to Today, Tonight, Tomorrow and getting a glimpse into what happens after the Happily Ever After. I tend to treat Young Adult Romances as Happy For Now rather than Happy Ever After, but I was glad to see Neil and Rowan still going strong. These two had some choppy waters to navigate as College Freshman in a long-distance relationship. Watching these two navigate a budding relationship tugged at my heart strings as the journey was by turns touching and touch and go at various points. Rachel Lynn Solomon does wonders with YA and I can't wait to see what more she has in store.

today tonight tomorrow is one of my fav YA romances so i was so excited when rachel lynn solomon announced a sequel. i wanted to love this so so bad but unfortunately, i just don't think this one had the same spark that today tonight tomorrow did. it's hard to do a sequel for a YA romcom so i think that given the premise, it makes sense for the direction of the story to move in but it just didn't hit for me. not a bad book, but just not particularly for me.

I fell in love with the first book of this because of the absolute charm and heart it had. I've always been a fan of academic rivals to lovers and usually I don't read high school romance, but it had piqued my interest and I wanted to give it a chance - and it was amazing! Unfortunately, this one disappointed me because it didn't have that same thing I was looking for with the new book.
I get it. College is really hard, I've been through it, and I've had my own share of struggles with it. But that said, I also found some of the best friendships I've ever had and had the most joyful moments of my time as well, and I feel like this book missed on that a lot. A lot of it felt like a drag and I kept looking for that spark and it just wasn't there. I think a lot of the themes are important - long-distance relationships, depression, family etc. - and I think this book can be really helpful for someone going through the same things but it wasn't for me, at least not where I am in life right now.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that I was so excited to read Neil and Rowan’s sequel and loved every moment of it! It’s not often that you get sequels with ya/romance so I loved reading the continuation of their relationship as they complete their first year of university.
Following a transformative 24 hour whirlwind and summer romance, this sequel find Neil and Rowan navigating a new city, college, and a long distance relationship. This sequel captures the beauties and complexities of what it means to be navigate adulthood for the first time - mental health struggles, complex family dynamics, and exploring their own identified on a new college campus. This story was so romantic and their love/connection felt palpable. The first book unfolded so quickly and in the sequel we really get to enjoy their love and relationship dynamics!

Thank you to Simon and Schuster for letting me read this one early. PAST PRESENT FUTURE is out now!
I really loved Solomon's first book in this series, getting to know these characters was so fun and I really loved the Seattle setting. This sequel didn't really add up for me. It felt slow going and boring, I know, I'm not the intended audience and that's probably why but I was just left wanting more from this story. I'll still definitely be here for the next one.

THE LOVE I FELT FOR THESE TWO OH MY GOODNESS
ROWAN + NEIL FOREVER 🫶🏼
My heart melted into a puddle and I loved every second I was able to spend with them on their individual journeys but also their relationship together. I didn’t think there was any way that a sequel could surpass the love I already felt for Today Tonight Tomorrow but Rachel Lynn Solomon loves to prove me wrong!
I was so weepy and so overjoyed countless times! There’s incredible representation and advocacy for mental health (depression), having an incarcerated parent, and attending college out of state.

In the aftermath of a whirlwind summer romance, Rowan and Neil find themselves navigating the choppy waters of a long-distance relationship as they embark on their separate college journeys. Rachel Solomon's sequel to "Today Tonight Tomorrow" delves into the complexities of young love amidst the challenges of newfound independence and mental health struggles.
Despite the physical distance between them, the palpable chemistry and unwavering love between Rowan and Neil leap off the pages, drawing readers into their heartfelt journey of self-discovery and resilience.
From late-night phone calls to stolen weekends together, they cherish every moment they can steal away from their busy lives. Yet, as they confront the challenges of growing up and finding their place in the world, they must also confront the possibility that their love may not be enough to overcome the obstacles in their path.
Thank you to Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers for my ARC copy in exchange for my review .

Thank you Netgalley & Simon & Schuster for the ARC of Past Present Future! I was thrilled after loving Today Tonight Tomorrow and the characters of Rowan & Neil. While I didn't find myself as engaged in PPF as much as TTT, this was an adorable continuation of their relationship into the college years. I also loved that the trials & tribulations that they experienced in the college years were realistic! I'm a Rachel Lynn Solomon fan and will continue to seek out her new books!
