this was such an enjoyable read - spicy, fun and an overall good time! overall i definitely recommend to fans of billionaire romances!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No spoilers. Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to. Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Maybe even a book club pick.

A new series! Yay! Macon is the heir apparent of the Spade Hotels. This one takes place in Hawaii and this leads to a beautiful setting. Macon is all for a one-night stand but when he sees a woman at a club he is captivated and wants to meet her. She, on the other hand looks right through him and is not interested. When he does get her attention, he has to work for it. Brooklyn and Macon make a great couple and it takes a bit for them to get going and Macon sure does have to work for it but it is worth it. I cannot wait to see where this series takes us next.

This book centers on Macon, a billionaire playboy who falls for Brooklyn, a housekeeper-turned-love interest with big dreams. While the chemistry between them is undeniable, the story is bogged down by contradictions and problematic elements. Brooklyn is portrayed as a hardworking underdog, yet her meteoric rise to a management position—thanks to Macon—feels unearned and frustratingly hypocritical. Her insistence on not mixing business with pleasure, while simultaneously benefiting from Macon’s influence, undermines her character. The romance itself leans on tired tropes, with Macon’s sudden devotion hinging on Brooklyn initially saying "no," which felt insufficient to build a believable relationship. Add to this some inconsistent character behavior and a lack of acknowledgment of privilege, and the result is a frustrating read. While the steamy scenes deliver, the overall story left much to be desired. Three stars.

"The Playboy" by Marni Mann was an easy listen that blends romance and drama. The narrator brought energy to the characters, making the story enjoyable.
While the plot had entertaining moments, it felt somewhat predictable, and some storylines could have used more development. The chemistry between the leads was a highlight, but overall, it didn’t leave a lasting impression.
I’d rate this audiobook 3 out of 5 stars. It’s a fun light read but may not stick with you. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy; all opinions are my own!

the may Marni can have so much spice while also keep me wanting to read for the actual plot is unlike any other author. Honestly I can't get over theft that I felt like I was reading more for the plot when typically im here for the spice. you must read her books and especially this one. She has me loving her characters and I can't get enough.

The Playboy was such a great billionaire romance and I loved the audio narration, which was a dual performance by Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom, who really brought the characters to life.
I loved the characters, the story, the spice, and the plot so much!
*many thanks to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review.

Absolutely loved The Playboy by Marni Mann. The audio was performed incredibly well. In true Marni fashion, she has weaved a story passion & love to the eternal playboy and anti-boyfriend, Macon Spade. Macon has his reasons for being so closed off and anti- relationship, however meeting Brooklyn, changes everything. Macon knows Brooklyn is different and he must overcome his internal battles, or risk losing her. Marni writes a story of true vulnerability while giving us all the feels of this couple. Once again, another 5 star book!

The Playboy by Marni Mann focuses on billionaire playboy Macon Spade. Macon is in Hawaii overseeing the building of his family's newest hotel and out celebrating at a bachelor party when he spots Brooklyn dancing. They have a no-strings fling with no names and no attachment; only Macon finds himself wanting more. The characters are interesting and as the story develops we get to see some familiar faces from Mann’s other series which is wonderful. There are some big issues throughout particularly with lying and emotional manipulation for it but the ending resolves everything.
Thank you to @Netgalley and @MarniMann for the audiobook ARC.

when macon and brooklyn have one hot night together, it's clear it's just a one off. but when they bump into each other continuously, they have to assume there's something there.
savannah peachwood is an absolute favorite when it comes to narrators for romance so she really made my time listening to this enjoyable. i wasn't super familiar with the narrator who read for macon but i liked him just fine!
the book itself was written alright. the plot was exactly what i imagined for a billionaire romance novel. i wasn't incredibly impressed or in love with the whole idea of it. i also just have gripes about hawaii being used as a setting. for that, it was hard for me to be into.
a 2.5 overall but a 3 because the narrators really saved it here for me.

I had to stop listening to this book because the male narrator was pretty awful. I did start reading his chapters while switching back and forth through the audio and book. I will say I was so impressed with the depth in Macons character. And man, Brooklyn was the best. She was smart, stunning and so strong as the FMC.

I like Marni Mann’s books as they are simple and easy reads. Her most recent stories and series have all been somewhat similar storylines. Rich playboy hero meets sexy heroine who makes them change their playboy ways and work to form a real relationship. This story was no different.
Macon has a very strong personality and goes after what he wants, or who he wants. In this case, it was Brooklyn. They both were keeping secrets from each other that we could see were eventually going to blow up in their faces. I liked the Hawaii setting and that Brooklyn didn’t immediately give into his playboy ways.
As I said, I do enjoy the quickness and easiness of Marni’s books. I wish she would switch the plots and characters up between the books of her series more. Her past books seem to be more emotional, heartfelt, attention grabbing, etc. Although there is nothing wrong with a quick spicy read, I just hate feeling like I’m consistently reading the same book from the author but with different names. She does write great spice and fun characters, but hoping to see some different type stories from her in the future!
I enjoyed the narrators of this story and how the depicted the characters. This is one of my favorite female narrators so that was a huge plus for me!

Audio Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on performance. This book is so good, and even better in audio. Tor Thom and Savannah Peachwood did a fabulous job bringing Macon and Brooklyn to life. When Macon saw Brooklyn across a crowded bar he had no idea his playboy days were over. He fell first for his “tiny dancer”. Brooklyn tried to resist him, her life was to “muddy”. The attraction was too much, and the chemistry is so hot. Even with some truths not being told, there is no third act breakup.

I loved everything about this book! The spice, the characters, the chemistry, and the plot - everything was so good. This audiobook was so addicting and I had a nard time putting it down.
I loved Savannah and Tor in this audiobook. Their narration was phenomenal as always.

Marni!! Omg the grumpy-sunshine, one-night stand! Ugh! So freaking good!! Marni is a beast when writing her characters and stories. I will never not love them. Can we talk about the chemistry between the characters though? Dang!!
A special thanks to Marni Mann, Netgalley, and Dreamscape Media for this ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I read this description of this book; A sizzling, grumpy-sunshine, one night stand, romance, and I agree with it. As one might expect from Marni Mann this book is spicy.
Filled with instant attraction, a one night stand turns into a desire to have more. Macon sees Brooklyn and he cannot stop thinking of her. While Brooklyn is focused on her schooling and career. Eventually the two characters will need to navigate a challenging relationship in the midst of the corporate world.
I enjoyed the narration by Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom by setting the mood keeping the listener engaged. If you are a fan of Marni Mann go pick this one up.
Many thanks to the author, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook ALC for my honest review.

Thank you Dreamscape Publishing and Netgalley for my gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review!
I love starting new series, and I love how all the characters from other series make appearances. This is full of steam and wonderful characters. You’ll love both Brooklyn and Macon. The audiobook was well done and easy to listen to! This was a super quick read, and im excited to read more from Marni!

The Playboy" by Marni Mann kicks off the Spade Hotel series with a tantalizing blend of billionaire dazzle, immediate spark attraction, and seductive storytelling. Brooklyn and Macon, despite their opposite personalities, share undeniable chemistry that leads to a passionate connection. While Macon evolves from a stereotypical playboy to a devoted partner, Brooklyn remains stoic and cautious, resisting the growing bond between them. Their journey is filled with steamy encounters, emotional barriers, and a push-pull dynamic that keeps readers engaged. With a mix of instalust and substantial romance, along with sizzling spice and lower angst conflict, Mann delivers another mesmerizing read for fans of the reformed playboy trope.

This is the first book in the Spade Hotel Series. I liked Macon and Brooklyn's passionate story. Macon is handsome, and enigmatic. Brooklyn is beautiful, smart, and determined. They are perfect together. Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom did a great job bringing this story to life. The supporting characters are interesting. Looking forward to more in the series.

ohkay..
first off i feel terrible to rate this book how I did.. becasue this author is amazinggg
but this one.. didnt work.
This book is about the playboy (duh) who is building the spade hotel (also duh) .. Now lets move past that
The MC 's name is Macon which the book wont let you forget because its said, moaned and yelled and all i could picture was someone talking abotu bacon so that for sure took me out of the story a lot. It is about a maid who fell in love with a billionaire who pretended not to want him for nearly the entire book. It got old how much she told us it was a one night thing, or a second night thing or a 15 night thing where they tell eachother how much they miss eachother and miss smeling eachother when they are a 10 minute drive away from eachother.
It was ehhh.
The sex however was everywhereeeeee and if you dont keep thinking of bacon you will love that part
