𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒 𝙼𝚊𝚗𝚗 is an amazing author! She knows how to write those yummy male characters that make the reader drool and swoon! 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒐𝒚 definitely did that for me!
I absolutely loved the way Macon Spade fell hard and fast for Brooklyn! The way he charmed her, really made me wish I was Brooklyn! Their interactions became addictive for me.
Brooklyn was a great character too! She definitely doesn't fall right away for Macon, and made him work a bit for her affections! But, the way he reforms his ways just for her is amazing and I was there for it!
𝚂𝚊𝚟𝚊𝚗𝚗𝚊𝚑 𝙿𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚑𝚠𝚘𝚘𝚍 & 𝚃𝚘𝚛 𝚃𝚑𝚘𝚖 did a great job together! They really gave these characters the passion and drive and brought them to life in the best way! Their voices flowed smoothly together and kept me hooked throughout!
If you love a beautifully chiseled story about a reformed playboy who falls hard and fast for the woman who brings him to his knees, but makes him work for his affections, then you need to grab this one up! It's the first in a series that is sure to be forever on my shelves! Great job, 𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒 𝙼𝚊𝚗𝚗! Looking forward to taking another trip to the Spade Hotel!

The Playboy is the first book in the new Spade Hotel series. I absolutely loved Macon and Brooklyn's story. It's entertaining, with off the charts chemistry. It has plenty of spice and all the feels. What a great start to the series. I devoured this one.
Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom did a great job portraying these characters.

Sweet Jesus! If I thought the Dalton men were dirty talking alphas, well I now realize they will be topped by the Spades brothers. The Playboy, book one in the Spade Hotel series, showcases Macon Spade. Normally he has women throwing themselves at him, but Brooklyn isn’t one of them women. They meet at a club where she goes to let off steam by dancing. Macon is in Hawaii for a few months on business. Marni is the absolute queen of billionaire, alpha, he falls first, men. The chemistry, the love, the respect, the everything between Macon & Brooklyn is top notch. I cannot recommend this book or Marni's writing more!! I'm dying to get my hands on the next Spade Hotel book!
The audio for this book is beyond dirty, hot, and dripping with so much s*x, it'll melt your ears!

5 She’s Everything He Wants Stars!!!
As much as I LOVED reading this book, having Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom bring it to life was an amazing listening experience. The emotions I experienced were taken up several notches while listening especially when it came to the sexy times. When Macon and Brooklyn were together, no matter what they were doing I was completely entranced thanks to the narration. This is a phenomenal book no matter how you consume it, but I highly recommend both reading and listening because it’s just that good!
This is the perfect start to a new series by the amazing Marni Mann!! Macon Spade is a man that knows what he wants and the night he met and literally conquered Brooklyn is the beginning of his life changing, even if neither of them realized it.
I absolutely love Brooklyn. She’s fiercely strong in her independence and has goals that she’s not going to let anyone stand in her way of reaching including this growly alpha she had the best one night stand with… or is she?
Their banter and sizzling chemistry was literally flowing from the pages. I was captivated by this story from the minute I started reading it. Brooklyn and Macon’s story builds in it’s intensity the further I read. While Brooklyn is focusing on finishing up her degree and Macon is opening a new Spade Hotel on Kaui, she finds escape in going dancing those nights of pure anonymity aren’t the same now that Macon knows where to find her and they definitely have a problem keeping their hands off each other.
This man captured my heart because for all his bravado and alphaness, there’s a different man lurking underneath and the more I read I could see it coming out. But as their encounters and relationship grows, there are secrets that are being kept that could blow everything up for both of them.
This book is everything I love about Marni Mann’s writing. A compelling story, a romance that’s intense and HAF, quick-witted conversations and finding love when you least expect it. I also need to give love to all the secondary characters in this story. We meet Brooklyn’s sisters and the bond these girls have is so strong, nothing, and I mean nothing will break it no matter what, Macon’s brothers and of course we get cameos by the Daltons. I’m so excited for The Rebel and can’t wait to read it!

Billionaire, playboy, heir to a hotel imperium falls for a maid.
Such a beautiful and s3xy lovestory which all starts with a ONS.

It was clear that early on, Macon was burned by a woman or love. Then Macon decided to become a carefree playboy and not give love a second thought. Until Macon sees Brooklynn dancing at a night club. Then Brooklynn pretty much becomes the playboy and Macon doesn't know what to think. I liked that Macon nicknamed Brooklynn "tiny dancer." For Brooklynn going to this club and dancing was her one escape. Brooklynn had her life all planned out until Macon walked in and disrupted it. Isn't that what makes like interesting though? It seems Macon and Brooklynn were both keeping secrets. A good start to a new series. Slade and Brooklynn were both good characters.

Thank you so much to Marni Mann, Valentine PR, and NetGalley for the audio ARC of The Playboy. Marni brings her tried and true billionaire romance (and spice) style to a new family and a new location with the first book in her new Spade Hotel series.
The Playboy follows Macon and Brooklyn who have a one night stand… that turns into more. They can’t get enough of each other. Brooklyn is working on finishing up her degree while balancing working at a hotel in the cleaning department. When she meets Macon one night while out dancing, she’s convinced she won’t let this playboy get too close. However, Macon knows what he wants and goes after it. This book was spicy and set up a good start to the rest of the upcoming series. I can’t wait to read/listen to the following books! If you like spice, characters from her other books that make an occasional appearance, billionaires, and romance, The Playboy is a good book for you!

I was not expecting this at all! While there was a lot of excellent spice, there was also a decent plot. Full of twists and turns and lies by omission. It was really fun to watch the train wreck coming and then to hear it all put back together. I listened to this as an audiobook narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom. This dual narrator for this dual POV was really great, and Tor could read algebra to me and it would be sexy. I learnt a new term, Alphahole - love it!! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story and I now want to go back and read the Dalton Family series, but I can't wait for the next Spade Hotel installments!
Big thanks to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media and Marni Mann for this early release copy in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this story and couldn't stop until I finished it. It was interesting to see how people from two different "worlds" collided and how the story developed. It is the first installment of The Spade Hotel series and I can’t wait to read the rest. Some of the Daltons make appearances in this book from Marni Manns's other series too. I will have to check that series too. Since this was an audiobook, I have to say that Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom did a perfect job in narrating and I love to listen to their narration. Thanks to the author, #dreamscapemedia, and #NetGalley for the audio ARC.

I loved the audio rendition of this sizzling romance! Savannah Peachwood's portrayal of Brooklyn was spot-on, infusing the character with life and relatability, while Tor Thom's deep voice brought a new dimension to Macon, the notorious billionaire playboy. The story was captivating, revolving around Macon's unexpected obsession with Brooklyn after a steamy one-night stand. Their encounters are filled with intensity and emotion, set against the luxurious backdrop of Hawaii and the Spade Hotels empire. The narrators beautifully captured the transformation of both characters and the escalating romance, making it a compelling and addictive listen. It's a steamy, character-driven narrative that hooked me from start to finish!

I just reviewed The Playboy by Marni Mann. #ThePlayboy #NetGalley This was a perfectly spicy book. The audio version was perfect. I loved the start of the Spade series and can't wait to follow it through. Brooklyn's sass and Macon's confidence paired perfectly. Would definitely recommend this spicy gem.

The Playboy is the first book in the Spade Hotel series and is Macon and Brooklyn’s story. This is a man obsessed, contemporary romance featuring a Playboy who falls hard and fast for the one night stand he meet at a club, who has no intention of getting involved with anyone.
Macon and Brooklyn had undeniable, explosive chemistry right from the start which keeps getting stronger as the story progressed and while he falls first, I loved that she fights her feelings for him and I enjoyed their push and pull and their witty banter.
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life and giving the characters their own personality and voice.
This is a fun, flirty, sizzling hott billionaire romance and is a great start to the series. I can't wait to see what next and would definitely recommend this novel.

I started listening to this book, and it is way to0 NC17 for me. Maybe I did not listen long enough, and a fantastic story followed the first spicy scene, but I could not listen anymore. I listened to less than 10% of the book.

I do love to see the fall of a playboy billionaire!
Macon of Spade Hotels certainly falls and does it hard for Brooklyn in this start of a new series. While witnessing those around him settle down he vows it will never happen to him - but we all know it will. I enjoyed how their relationship played out and if you are an audio fan this was an excellent listen! Can't wait for more!

Loved this book so much! Marni Mann is ALWAYS killing it, and the Spade series continues to impress! I loved Macon, he was so sweet and also naughty at the same time. He took such good care of Brooklyn. Macon was dominating and also the perfect doting boyfriend! The audiobook was nice to listen to, I loved both of the narrators, Savannah and Tor were so nice to listen to. Loved the audiobook a lot!

Audio Note: Solid audio! You can't go wrong with Savannah Peachwood, who has steadily become one of my favorites. Her voice is perfect for the vibe, and she makes the listening experience a definite upgrade. I like Tor Thom’s voice, which is deep and masculine. That did not translate well to the moments when he was voicing the heroine, however, making the spicy scenes a little awkward in this dual narration audiobook. Considering Mann is known for her plentiful spice and it starts up almost immediately, that was a bummer. Speaking of spice - this one is absolutely not recommended as a workday listen, lol. Things heat up very quickly and stay that way throughout, so it’s not great for the office. The runtime (10 hours) is ideal for bingeing, and the light and spicy vibes work well in the format. So I do recommend the audio experience overall.

How far did I get? About 40% of the way through, with some skimming afterwards.
Why did I stop? The hero is a total tool and I couldn’t relate to either character. Their first encounter had me cringing (he literally looks up her skirt and assumes she’ll want to sleep with him immediately after that), but I was hoping it would get better. It’s not my first experience with Mann’s work and her characters typically hit the sheets quickly, so I pushed through - I’ve enjoyed her fling to more romances in the past. However, their second interaction was almost worse. Though the hero knows literally nothing about his girl, he is convinced that he wants to be in a relationship with her and break his “no dating” rule for the first time. Total instalust. I didn’t love how young she was (22) or that she didn’t actually put up much of a fight before she was agreeing to hook up again, so I was disappointed that it wasn’t heading in the direction I had anticipated from the blurb. As the hero continued to rub me the wrong way, I decided to cut my losses early.
Was I enjoying it initially? Ehh, no. I fully expected this to get spicy right away, so that was not a surprise. I just expected to feel some chemistry or a flicker of connection to either character. I did not.
Would I finish this? Probably not.
Who would I recommend this to? Fans of high-heat billionaire romance who like arrogant playboys and younger, struggling heroines. Anyone who enjoyed The Daltons series and is looking forward to a spinoff - the heroes from that series make an appearance, though this would definitely read as a standalone.

3.5 stars, rounded to 4.
If there's one thing Marni Mann does exceptionally well, it's writing a captivating story. While this felt a little long for me, I really really loved Macon and Brooklyn. While Macon was a notorious playboy, I absolutely LOVED watching him fall SO head over heels for Brooklyn. Brooklyn was such a well-developed character that you just couldn't help but root for. One of my most favorite tropes in a book is a man who just wants to take care of his partner in all facets, and this book had that in spades!
I wish the conflicts of both of them lying about their respective secrets was resolved a bit quicker, but all in all this was another enjoyable audio. I am excited to see where the rest of this series goes!

truly had so much fun with this! in classic marni mann fashion, there’s great spice, amazing banter, and just overall good vibes!
macon and brooklyn had such great wit - it was so fun to read about these two! macon is your typical playboy but boy oh boy does he fall fast and hard for brooklyn!! it’s almost funny. i love a boy obsessed.
read if you like:
- grumpy x sunshine
- playboy x good girl
- boy obsessed
- one night stand turned more
thank you for the arc!

I enjoyed this audiobook so much. It was my first book by Marni Mann and I don't know how I haven't read one of her books yet. If you like T.L. Swan, you'll love Marni Mann. I can't wait to read all the Spade Hotel Series Books!

Macon and Brooklyn come from completely different worlds. When the two run into each other in a club, they find an instant connection and sweltering chemistry, but Brooklyn slips away without giving any information about herself- even her name. Macon can't get this woman out of his head and decides to do whatever it takes to find her and make her his.
Macon and Brooklyns connection was so fun to read. There was so much chemistry there and Macon's Alpha attitude was super hot. Neither of them have much experience with relationships though and their communication was terrible. But those are flaws that they both work on throughout the book. It was spicy but also had a great storyline. I especially loved Brooklyn's relationship with her sisters.
Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom did an incredible job narrating this book. Savannah has the most calming, relaxing voice and Tor had all the grit you would expect from an Alpha male character. The pace was great and the dual narration was very smooth.
This was a great book! Thank you to Neutrally and Marni Mann for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Macon has sworn off falling in love after his high school love breaks his heart. That is until one night , several years later, when he sees Brooklyn dancing in a club one night and cannot take his eyes off her. He knows he must find out who she is and will stop at nothing to get to know this woman.
This is a very fun and entertaining book. It grabs your attention from the start and does not let you go till the end. And if you are looking for spice, this is the book for you. I cant wait for the next book in this promising series.
