Ratings – Book: 4.5⭐, Narration: 4⭐

Brooklyn and Macon are so hot together, I had to switch from speaker to earbuds! They are so sizzling on fire together, that even Macon, the sworn bachelor couldn't stay away from Brooklyn.

I enjoyed so much about this story! Marni hit on a lot of my favorite tropes: insta-attraction, billionaire/poor romance, alphahole, forever bachelor, and one-night-stand. Also, Brooklyn's character was very relatable for me. In a lot of ways, I felt like Brooklyn's character was based on my life.

Brooklyn doubts herself because she grew up struggling for everything, having come from a family that had to work hard to be able to afford life. Macon makes her feel special, beautiful and relevant. On the other hand, Macon was burned by his first love and swore to never allow his heart into any relationship. Until he met Brook. All bets are off. He falls first and oh, how hard he fell!

With regards to the narration, I didn't hate it, but I think I would have preferred someone else playing Macon. To me, Tor Thom fell short in a couple of the intimate scenes, where I just didn't feel the heat. I thought Savannah Peachwood did a great job.

Thank you Marni Mann, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this Audiobook. The above is my own and personal opinion.

After a girl ripped out his heart, Macon decided that he wasn’t going to put himself out there anymore. He became the master of aloof detached one night only flings from there on out.

That all changes when he spots the girl across a club dancing her heart out all by herself. He thinks he’ll make her his for the night and move on. But once he’s had her she consumes his thoughts. The only problem is she doesn’t want to be anything more. And for once Macon finds himself on the opposite side of his one night stand policy.

Brooklyn is just trying to finish school and find a job that will finally take her seriously. She doesn’t have time to get involved with a hot businessman who’s probably only in Hawaii for a short time. But when he keeps showing up and wearing her down is it possible Macon may be the answer to everything she’s ever wanted?

I was worried about Macon because of his play boy “can’t hold me down” attitude in the previous books but my goodness did this man take a quick 180 with Brooklyn. I love a guy obsessed/ he falls first trope and then to give me supportive bf who takes her serious in a professional capacity and that’s it my heart was won. Macon was nearly perfect though there was one part where I seriously did a face palm over his actions but I absolutely loved that she called him out on it. Brooklyn is anything but a doormat heroine and we love to see it.

The audiobook was so engaging and I found myself sweating quite a few times while listening to this one on my commute. The steamy scenes were quality and quantity. Marni has quickly become a must listen for me because I haven’t listened to an audiobook yet that I didn’t absolutely love and this was no exception. Definitely worth the read or listen especially if you’re like me and you love a good billionaire, reformed playboy, he falls first romance.

I enjoyed this opposites attract romance set mainly in Hawaii with dual POV in Marni Mann’s new Spade Hotel Series.

Macon and Brooklyn were a fun couple to read about. I enjoyed watching the notorious alpha male playboy Macon break all his rules when it came to love and any form of commitment and give into his feelings for Brooklyn. After spending one night together his obsession with her only grew stronger and he had to make her his at whatever cost.

The chemistry between Macon and Brooklyn was sexy and palpable. Listening to it on audio was steamy 🔥🔥🔥

I highly recommend the audio version and Savannah Peachwood, and Tor Thom did a wonderful job narrating Macon and. Brooklyn.

This was a great start to the series.

This is one of my first audiobooks from NetGalley and I was presently surprised by Mann's writing. In the first couple of chapters, I was a little wary of Macon and Brooklyn's relationship but after a little more listening I was hooked.

I loved how strong of a character Brooklyn was and getting to see how that played into her relationship with Macon. (Slight Spoiler) I am so glad there was no third-act break up and they handled their issues with communication, time, and understanding.

This was the first ever book I have read by Mann, but I am interested in reading other books to get to know the other characters better.

I felt the narrators did a really good job of capturing the characters and makes me want to listen to more audiobooks.

The Playboy tells the story of Brooklyn and Macon.

Brooklyn is a fiercely independent, hard working, smart woman. She is paying her way through college while working as a member of a hotel's cleaning staff. She lives in a place with her sisters that is barely enough space for one, let alone three. To clear her head, she loves to dance. Alone.

Enter Macon. He's a lifelong, confirmed bachelor. Handsome, cocky, used to getting anything, or anyone, he wants. Oh, and he is RICH.

A chance meeting that never should have happened send sparks flying. Set in beautiful Hawaii, Marni Mann tells the story of two hurt, independent, scared people coming together to heal and trust. The way Marni uses Macon to chip away at the wall of Brooklyn is respectful. It is always known that Macon wants Brooklyn whenever and however he can get her, but only on her terms. There is no pushing, and I think that brings some humanness to characters who generally lack that important detail.

This was a fun, cute read of opposite worlds colliding and causing a lot of "fire", if you catch my drift!

I love this world and I love being back with these characters! I loved Macon's back story and I loved how Brooklyn swooped in and blew everything Macon thought and felt out of the water. I could honestly listen to these stories again and again. They're fast paced, entertaining and just fun! I loved seeing glimpses of the characters from The Dalton Family series, though you do not need to read/listened to them to love this story. Tor Thom and Savannah Peachwood were the perfect Macon and Brooklyn and brought this story to life! Another great listen by Marni!

Wooooweeee. This was an epic story between playboy billionaire Macon Spade and struggling student Brooklyn. They have explosive chemistry from the beginning and there is something about their connection that makes the serial playboy want to change his ways.

Marni Mann knows how to write a compelling story between characters that would never likely end up together. Macon is persistent in his pursuit of Brooklyn; she is just as persistent in keeping him at arms length.

Audiobook review:
The male narrator, Tor Thom, had moments where I felt that he sounded bored. It made it difficult to feel connected to the story with those sections. I did not feel that the narrator chosen fit the 27-year-old character.
The female narrator, Savannah, nailed it.

Overall rating: 5/5
Spice Rating: 4/5

* Billionaire
* One night stand
* Opposites attract
* Reformed playboy
* Minimal age gap - 22 & 27

Thank you to Valentine PR & NetGalley for the advance review copy of this book!

If I could describe Macon and Brooklyn’s story in one word, it would be “transformation”. The transformation that these characters went through, both individually, and together was heartwarming. Watching Macon take the fall from playerhood and become completely obsessed with Brooklyn was both giggle and swoon worthy. For Brooklyn, watching her determination and drive, to not only reach her goal but rise above it regardless of the hard work it would take to get there, was inspirational. I thoroughly enjoyed witnessing their journey and them overcoming “muddy” obstacles to find their way to what worked for them as a couple, without losing themselves as individuals.

This was my first Marni Mann book and in the beginning, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this. Macon was such an unloveable male character. It made sense with the title, haha, but I was still taken aback! However, he was so head over heels for Brooklyn and his POV (narrated so very well) showed him as a much deeper character with his guard up but wanted to really listen and learn more about her.

The narration was AMAZING!! I’ve heard Savannah in several other audiobooks but Tor was new to me. His voice was like manly butter and I loved listening to his POV so much by the end of this book!

The Playboy is the first is the Spade series which is a spin-off of the Dalton series. This was my first book from this author so it was not a prerequisite to have read the Dalton series beforehand.
The Playboy gave as good as the title suggests. It came in hot and fast and carried on throughout as only experts can carry it off. Let me tell you as this was an audio the voice actor chosen for the MMC was perfection! Such a sexy deep deep voice!
Macon is a hotel mogul sworn Playboy definitely not looking for a relationship bit when he sets his eye on Brooklyn at a nightclub dancing by herself he cannot take no for an answer. Although he has his way with her that is just the beginning because he is obsessed! However Brooklyn isn't just some woman he can claim as his own just like that, she has hopes and dreams and if he wants her he will have to work hard and earn her.
Sure to leave you wanting more at the end a must read/listen for the romance/spice enthusiasts!
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audio copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The characters and the development of the book was fantastic! My only complaint would be how it was finished. I like my endings with an epilogue or two. Just really disappointing not to have everything wrapped up and to see them in the future. The audio narration is dual POV by Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom. They brought another dimension to the story with their characterizations. They kept me engaged, and I listened to the audiobook multiple times. It was such a good listen.

The Playboy is what we can only hope will become book one of the Spade Hotel series.
The book follows Brooklynn and Macon. She's the small town girl working at a local hotel to make her way through school. He's the hot shot executive that carries the last name of the high end hotel brand.
She's hiding parts of herself from him thinking that what they have is just a fling, while he's in deep.

What comes of their relationship? Especially after a not so kosher first meeting?

This book is the perfect amount of steam. Perfect amount of romance. Perfect amount of storyline and plot that doesn't just get lost in the steam.

It was my first read by Marni Mann and I definitely plan on looking into her work more, especially the Spade series.
I listened to the audiobook of this novel and cannot say enough good things about Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom. They did a brilliant job narrating this.
Will recommend to all !

Thank you Netgalley, Mann, and Dreamscape Media for the chance to listen to this ARC in return for an honest review.

📖 The Playboy by Marni Mann
----> available NOW!

"You knew I was different. That's what brought you over here. And that's why you're still here."

Okay. Forget every guy Marni has ever written because Macon is about to ROCK YOUR WORLD.

We have a man obsessed, grumpy/sunshine-- with all the "only for her" vibes, ONE NIGHT STAND-- but neither of them can get the other out of their head... SWOON. The relationship build up was perfection, the delicious banter, the pining. There is a tiny age gap (5 years).

Dare I say that this is Marni's steamiest book yet?

I received an ALC and guys, the narrators were PERFECTION. I felt like they captured the voices of Macon & Brooklyn flawlessly. Easy to understand and kepte engaged. I went back and forth between my audio + ebook but I definitely recommend the audio if you are an audio girlie!

While this is a spin-off of her Dalton Family series, it's not required to read prior!!

This is my second marni man book and I was so excited that it was Macon’s story! I absolutely loved him and Brooklyn. He was such a simp for her. My biggest pet peeves in book is the miscommunication / lying it went on for too long on both ends, but overall I loved this story! The narrators were great, and the spice was hot 🤭🔥

Audio review
Narrated by: Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom

Macon Spade had been hurt before. After that heartbreak he changed and never really did commitment or relationships. When he saw his tiny dancer in a nightclub while in Hawaii he thought one night would be enough. He was wrong.
Brooklyn has plans and goals. She does not have time for romance. The sexy, rich playboy from the club will not sway her. After their one night she is fine until Macon pushes for more.

Brooklyn takes some convincing, but Macon knows from the beginning. He is all in. She makes him work for it.

No slow burn here. It comes in hot and the chemistry is burns throughout the book. Book one does not disappoint and makes us eager for the next book.

Oh, my bookish heart! Macon swept me off my feet and left me utterly smitten. This swoon-worthy romance is everything you love from Marni Mann. The spice, the alpha hero *chefs kiss*.

After getting his heart broken by a girl, Macon decided not to mess the heart and instead became a notorious playboy whose charm is as notorious as his reputation. From the moment he meets Brooklyn, all of that goes right out the window. The chemistry between Macon and Brooklyn crackles off the pages, making every encounter electrifying. Only Brooklyn has the power to bring out his vulnerable side. But of course Macon is still very much the alpha hero. I loved that Brooklyn was also strong in her own right, she wasn’t just a weak heroine needing to be saved. Combined they made the perfect pair.

Let's talk about the narrators – pure magic! 🎙️ Each voice is perfectly chosen for the part. I absolutely love Tor Thom in the strong billionaire alpha role. I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing Macon. Savannah Peachwood carried Brooklyn beautifully throughout the story. The way they bring characters to life is nothing short of extraordinary.

“You just lost yourself in the music. Now, lose yourself in me.”

Not wanting anything more than a brief escape, Brooklyn breaks her own rule and lets loose. Just one night. To be carefree. Enjoy some peace. And normally Macon would be the perfect one to give it to her. However, something changes. For once in his life he can’t walk away. He wants more. Living two completely different lives. He has the entire the world at his fingertips; she lives day to day. They couldn’t be further apart.
Let’s just say, Marni is coming in HOT with this new series and I love it. Such a good start and it was so great to see so many characters from the Dalton family. Looking forward to what comes next.
I read the ARC and it was so good I listened to the ALC next. Savannah Peachwood is a favorite of mine. She’s so good at taking the pace up or down a notch when needed. You feel the intensity and emotion behind the words.
I believe Tor Thom is new to me and I did enjoy him as well. They obviously work well together because the pace and flow was perfect.

“Let me do to your body what I’ve been dreaming about.” “All you have to do is say yes.”

“I’ll take your moans, Brooklyn, but I’d rather have your screams.”

“You fell into my arms at the right time, and since I met you, I don’t even recognize myself. I’ve done a one-eighty. That’s what’s wild to me.”

“The things you’ve made me realize, the things you’ve made me want—I never thought it would ever happen … until you.”

Loved reading and listening to the audio version. When Macon meets Brooklyn, his tiny dancer, he wants her for more than one night, but Brooklyn's life is busy with work and school. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written and amazing audiobook with captivating characters. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the awesome author, Marni Mann!

. Loved the dual narration on this. I was lucky enough to receive and ARC of this and boy did it deliver.
as much as I liked Macon’s mouth, the double standard with the lying didn’t work for me.
I liked Brooklyn and how said said what she wanted. She did not let Macon determine what she did and made him work for it.
