Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! This spicy romance will have you turning pages faster than you can blink or driving extra laps around the block so you can listen longer if you are like me! It's a wonderful spin off of the Dalton series. While you wouldn't have to have read the Dalton series first, you would be missing out on a lot of fun, steamy reading time as well as a depth of backstory that this first book in the Spade series builds upon. You'll see a lot of the characters from the Dalton series appear in this book so having their back story would be beneficial, but not required as I think you'll enjoy this read just fine on it's own. However, if this book is for you, then you will absolutely enjoy the Dalton's on the way to this series. I was able to listen to this book and the narration did an outstanding job of bringing the characters and the steam to life! Add in that it is set in Hawaii so you have a gorgeous setting, witty banter that is also hot, hot, hot, and characters that you absolutely love makes this your next read or listen! I highly recommend going with listen as again, the narration really brings the book to life!

Book one in a new series- which is a spinoff of The Dalton Family, which spun off from The Agency...
Works as a stand alone though.
Format- Audiobook- listening speed 1.5
Dual POV

This new series has Macon Spade in Hawaii building a new hotel. After teenage heartbreak, Macon has sworn to never become involved with a woman again. Sex only. While out on the town, he spots Brooklynn from across the room. He is instantly drawn to her and willing to break all of his rules. Except she doesn't want more. A total reversal compared to what he is used to.

First, I noticed that this is a bit longer than previous books I've read by this author. Just an observation.

As far as this book, the conflicts were a bit weak. Yet they loomed over the whole book. I enjoyed the book, but didn't love it. You know the conflict the whole time and it is pretty anti-climactic when it happens.

The book is very spicy, which is typical for this author.

Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom narrate the audiobook. I always enjoy Savannah Peachwood and this is no different. On the flip side, I am never sold on Tor Thom. He always sounds too old for the character he is reading. He is just not one of my favorite narrators- and it is nothing he does wrong. Just his voice.

I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a sucker for billionaire romances and this did not disappoint. This story is focused on Macon and Brooklyn with strong attraction from their very first meeting. Throw in a few twists and turns and some playing hard to get and you've got a recipe for a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, this is my first read from Marni but this has definately made me want to go and read the Dalton brothers books after meeting them a bit in this book as I want to see their stories unfold. Definately worth the read or a listen which is what I did, the narration was great.

Marni Mann writes the only alpha billionaires I want to read
.
Normally I know what to expect when there is a character like that but she writes them in a new way, with such different personalities and I didn't even begin to name the other protagonists
.
Broklyn is the perfect sunshine for the grumpy playboy Macon. Living almost a Cinderella life, working as a housekeeper in a hotel complex and in the last months of finishing degree, her only moment of freedom and fun is when she goes up to a piece of the stage at the disco and dances to the rhythm of the music
.
and at that moment is when Macon notices her for the first time and is absolutely lost
.
It is always delicious to see how these millionaire alpha men leave all their barriers and limits to be with the person they fall in love with, and when they fall in love, they fall in love with everything
.
Of course, the sexy scenes so steamy until they set everything on fire and the images described in such detail of dreamy places
.
I listened to the audio book version and having read her books I can say that I really enjoyed both versions, and audio book narrators were amazing playing Macon and Brooklyn, and sniper from the other characters
.
Thanks to Marni Mann and Dreamscape Media for give me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. What I thought was going to be a quick, light read, turned into a full-blown reading experience. I found myself feeling emotionally connected to the characters Marni Mann created and was genuinely invested in the plot. The book definitely gave off the same vibe as Lauren Asher's Dreamland Billionaires series in that it was lighthearted and spicy, without sacrificing writing quality or storyline. Overall, I think this book was a really solid start to the Spade Hotel series, and I can't wait to read more!

Thank you Dreamscape Media for providing this audiobook for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Ooo ok, i read back to back Marni books!!! I was blown away by the amazing narrators of this audiobook! Tor and Savanna did a fantastic job and dang Tor’s voice was yummm. And when I mean yummmm this book was also open door spicyyyy 🔥🔥🔥.

Loving the billionaire, he falls first, obsession troupes too! And as always I appreciate that dual pov! I also love how Marni’a series book can be read as standalones because you all know how I hate a cliffhanger! Marni has definitely gained another fan! 😍

There were times where Brooklyn was a little annoying, but for the most part Macon’s and Brooklyns story was told in such a sexy and suspenseful way! Loved it!

This was so good!!

The Playboy is the first book to the Spade Hotel series and this follows Macon and Brooklyn. I absolutely loved them together, their relationship was everything so sexy, the banter was so good and the spice was delicious. I am obsessed with Macon.

This was such a good start to the series and I cannot wait for The Rebel.

This was a fun opposites attract, dual POV romance set mainly in Hawaii. While it's a spinoff from the original Dalton brothers series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. Perfect for Blue Crush movie lovers, this was an enjoyable read and I loved how strong the FMC was even if there was a lot of deception on both sides. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I haven’t read any other books by this author but this seemed formulaic and some moments are distractingly unrealistic. I never really felt any emotional connection to either main character.

•fantastic banter

Marni Mann writes the best billionaire men. It was so fun seeing cameos from the Daltons too.

💕 Macon + Brooklyn 💕

The first book in a brand new series The Spade Brothers. With small cross overs from The Dalton series.

I LOVED that this took place in Kawaii/ Hawaii. I can't think of a single other romance novel I have read that has taken place on any of the Hawaiian islands. That was a fun change.

This book, as expected from Marni, is 🔥🥵🔥. Spice or talk of spice in every chapter. It is steammmmy, fun and flirty.

Macon quickly becomes a melted puddle for Brooklyn buying her things and doing anything for her and I ate that up.

Savannah + Tor did an amazing job with the audio. Macon with that deep voice and Savannah the fun and flirty college student.

Thank you to Marni Mann, @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for this advanced listener copy.

**Audiobook Review**

What a way to start a new series! “The Playboy” is a steamy, flirty, and fun billionaire romance that has checked all the boxes of a great grumpy/sunshine romance.

Macon Spade has sworn off all relationships and has been solely focused on building his family’s hotel brand. When in Hawaii to build and launch their latest hotel, out with friends he meets a woman who literally captures his attention from the moment he laid eyes on her. Brooklyn is a college student and has no time for relationships, only one night. Macon is mesmerized by her and goes back to see her again. They agree to a temporary thing since he’ll be gone when the hotel is built but as they spend time together, it’s clear that there is more there.

This was such a fun listen and I enjoyed every minute of it. Macon has an alphahole exterior but underneath is such a caring guy. He was instantly taken by Brooklyn but was never creepy with his advances, I loved that I never got the ick from him. Brooklyn is someone I connected with right from the beginning and loved her so much. Her drive to excel in school and get her degree was admirable. She’s hardworking and knows what she wants to do when she graduates. I loved how she didn’t immediately give into Macon and made him work for it. They were incredibly sweet together as a couple and so supportive of each other’s careers and dreams. And the spicy scenes were so good, I loved these two together. The ending was so good and I can’t wait of the next book in the series.

Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom were as great as Brooklyn and Macon. Savannah brought all of Brooklyn’s fun personality to life and I loved listening to her. Tor was the perfect choice for Macon, I loved his deep growly voice.

🎧📚 Audiobook Review: "The Playboy" by Marni Man 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Introducing the captivating Spade Hotel series, "The Playboy" takes us on a journey of luxury, passion, and seduction. Join the billionaire Alphahole, heir to Spade Hotels, as he confronts the challenges of power and desire. This audiobook, narrated by the talented duo Savanna Peachwood and Tor Thom, brings the story to life with their performances.

While the excitement for this new series builds upon the success of Marni Man's previous works, I felt that "The Playboy" lacked in setting up the intrigue for future stories. It assumed prior knowledge of an engagement, confusing me about the reading order. However, this did not hinder my overall enjoyment of the book.

What stood out to me was the representation of a healthy relationship between two emotionally adaptable individuals. Both characters handled aversions from the truth maturely, acknowledging their own guilt at various points. This added depth and authenticity to their journey, making their connection relatable and compelling.

"The Playboy" explores the secrets of love, lust, and the pursuit of a happily ever after. Marni Man's storytelling keeps you engaged and yearning for more. I can't wait to see how the series unfolds and to delve deeper into the world of Spade Hotels.

If you enjoy steamy romance with well-developed characters and a hint of mystery, "The Playboy" is a must-listen. Grab your headphones and get ready to immerse yourself in this enticing tale.

Audiobook Review

The Playboy was my first Marni Mann. I’ve been following Marni’s books for a while now but was yet to read one; The blurbs were intriguing so I finally succumbed, and I’m glad I did. The Playboy was an extra smexy, tropical adventure in the path to happy ever after for Macon and Brooklyn.

Tor Thom and Savannah Peachwood were amazing as Macon and Brooklyn

Macon and Brooklyn are 🥵😮‍💨 five alarm hot! I truly don’t believe there are many authors who write spice like Marni. The steam is so good because it is ridiculously scorching but also doesn’t take away from the story, which is a true testimony to Marni’s talent. This first installment of The Spade Hotel series was ridiculously good. I love how Marni intertwines her universes and anytime I can revisit, even briefly, with the Dalton’s, sign me up. This reformed playboy stole my heart and I absolutely adored Brooklyn. Hardworking, determined, stubborn and feisty, she was everything I love about an FMC. Macon, an old soul and a self proclaimed “body whisperer” 😝 just needed someone to turn his world upside down and watching Brooklyn do that to him was so satisfying. I can’t wait for the rest of this series. 4.5/5 stars.

This audiobook was fantastic! It is a spice forward billionaire romance with instant lust. The spice was fantastic and let the chemistry of the characters jump off the "page".

The male narrator, Tor Thom, did a phenomenal job with this spicy book. He had me blushing less than 10% in. The female narrator, Savanah Peachwood, did a nice job conveying the mix of confidence and insecurity in Brooklyn.

Obviously with a romance of this type, you have to suspend belief a bit about things that are not plausible in the real world, but overall if you are looking for spicy listen with a side of six sigma then this book is for you!!!

Thank you to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, and Marni Mann for the advanced listener copy. All opinions are my own.

The Playboy was a really cute and fun billionaire romance. I enjoyed the storyline of a young FMC sleeping on a blow up mattress working as a hotel maid finds her own way to a fantastic job doing what she loves. I didn't love the miscommunication trope though and it was heavily used and prominent in this story... The audio was good, not amazing but worth a listen. Overall I liked it and am excited to read the next in the series but probably won't read this one again.

This new series was a great read that I enjoy from start to finish. Where we have skirted wound the actual story of Macon Spade in his appearances in the Dalton family series we now get his entire story.

Macon, successful member of the Spade family where he works for his family building their hotel empire. After a painful end to his high school/college relationship he swears to being the no strings attached guy and leads the playboy lifestyle. While opening the latest Spade hotel, he becomes enchanted with what starts as a one time encounter with what he calls a tiny dancer but then becomes so much more.

Brooklyn, a soon to be college graduate is struggling to get through the day to day. She lives with her two sisters and works in housekeeping at a competing hotel to the Spade brand. She goes dancing in local clubs as a means of escape from her life and she gets more than she expected.

The chemistry between Macon and Brooklyn is off the charts as both characters were well written and relatable in a sense. The plot of the story moved along well and kept me interested in the story. I enjoyed the appearances of the characters from the Dalton series and I look forward to what is in store for the rest of the series.

Overall, this was a good read and I enjoyed it from start to finish. I recommend this book to others as I anxiously await the next book of the series.

The Playboy is the first in a spin off series of Marni Mann’s Dalton Family series. While it mentions characters from the Dalton family, it is unnecessary to read those first. This can be read as a standalone. The audio is an easy, entertaining listen with a fun story, and plenty of spice from the start. If you like billionaire, he falls first, grumpy/sunshine, independent FMCs, HEAs, and lots of sweet talk, this one is for you! I loved that it mainly took place in Hawaii, and it was easy to visualize the setting thanks to the great writing. I am going to have Elton John’s Tiny Dancer in my head for a while. I enjoyed the narration by Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom, it really added to the characterization for me. Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this ALC. This review is voluntary and my own.
