Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc. This was a cute story that was fast easy read.

This was a cute slow burn enemies to lovers story about neighbors. The banter between Mallory and Brandon was hilarious and I enjoyed their journey from irritated neighbors to friends to business partners to lovers. Their nontypical jobs made the story unique. I got a little confused in the reason why Brandon moved to the area (which I won't reveal due to spoilers) but it did add some drama and excitement to the end of the story.

I chose this book on impulse based on the title/cover and description as it sounded like a pretty funny and unique storyline. However, as I got into it, I was disappointed to find there was not all that much interaction between Brandon and Mallory; rather the bulk of the book was about Mallory, her work and goings on there. This did tie up with Brandon in the end, but I felt that a lot of it was separate from her relationship with Brandon and there should have been more focus on the two of them. I wanted to like it, but it just didn't grab me.

This was cute! I loved the build up of the romance and I enjoyed the characters as individuals. I liked the slight pinch of mystery that was included as well. I would have loved a little more open door spice but I was entertained!

I did not love this book. I think it had potential, but it was too short, though the length did match the plot. The writing didn’t seem to flow naturally to me and the way the characters talked seemed forced and awkward. There was also no chemistry or buildup between Brandon and Mallory. They just went from friends to marriage in the blink of an eye. I’m not even sure I’d call this book a romance, as there was really nothing until the very end. Maybe half a 🌶️ for spice, only because they kissed. The Bug Guy was an unfortunate miss for me.

I received a copy of The Bug Guy for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

3.5stars
This story is more about the life of Mallory than about romance. It is funny and sweet but I missed more romance.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

I evite this book. The banter was cute between the two MC. I wish there was a little more to it, but the writer, you could tell that they enjoyed writing this.

In this slow paced romantic comedy we have Mallory who lives in a duplex, is great friends with her landlord, is at a job that she isn’t that fond of and struggling to do, and she is getting a new neighbor. Moving into next to her is Brandon, the Bug Guy, and when they first have an interaction it isn’t the best and they go back and forth with ugly notes to each other. The heart of the story was great with intense moments happening and their banter is hilarious, but at times there seemed to be almost too much happening and not enough interaction between Brandon and Mallory. There is a lot going on and the twists at the end surprised me and I loved when these two finally figure things out. Overall I enjoyed the friendships and banter because to me that made the story.

Love an enemies to love book and this one did not disappoint!
Overall this was a great story with some funny moments and some good side characters that help bring the whole story together

I don’t think I was the intended audience for this story as I did not find it funny or engaging. While the bug information was interesting, I skimmed the entire book to get to the end. This was an extremely slow closed door romance with a very small element of mystery neither of which grabbed my attention..

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own opinions.

I love the characters Andrea Smith created, you can picture them while you read and I love that.

I did however think the last half of the book seemed rushed and could have been more drawn out. Sped through the first half then was left disappointed from guitar repo on.

Cute rom-com with likeable characters, amusing plot, and a little bit if subterfuge to keep things interesting. A great, feel good, weekend or vacation read when you want to kick back and just enjoy some fun.

I was given an ARC of The Bug Guy in exchange of an honest review. My favourite parts about this book were the normalization of lesser-known jobs, but at points I found like I was confused when we were going into too many details about the jobs themselves. The witty banter at the beginning was fun, as well as the FMC’s relationship with her landlord, Edna. Unfortunately, I just found the book a bit too cheesy for my taste - the relationship development was minimal and the ending fell a bit flat for me.

There was some entertainment in this book , it was a lighthearted read. The end felt very rushed to me and didn’t exactly tie together and that’s why I have scored this as 3 stars. Kind of average but passed the time in a fairly engaging way.

The book was very swoony and I truly enjoyed it. The suspense is great, and the plot is fun and entertaining. But I would love to read more of Brandon and Mallory's relationship.

Slow start, good ending.

Influenced by the title plus the intriguing synopsis, I grabbed the offer to read and review this book, I quickly discovered that categorising it as a 'rom-com' was an exaggeration.

The first half, although setting the scene for what followed, was slow and longwinded, editing out unnecessary trivia would be a vast improvement. The plot improved during the second part with a few funny moments, only the last few chapters held my interest, overall I was disappointed.

Cute story. Clean romance. Definitely some surprises..The back blurb didn't exactly capture the book, but it made me wanna read it. Good twists at the end. I loved Brandon.

"The Bug Guy" is an absolute gem of a RomCom! Andrea Smith has once again delivered a delightful read that had me laughing out loud from start to finish. Brandon and Mallory's journey from butting heads to becoming besties and partners in crime is both heartwarming and hilarious. And when things take a fishy turn, Mallory's detective skills come into play, leading to an unexpected twist at the end. Andrea Smith truly excels in the RomCom genre, and "The Bug Guy" showcases her expertise perfectly. A must-read for all fans of romantic comedies! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!!
