If this book isn't a reminder of what life used to be like for women, then I don't know what is.
How horrible to be essentially, a slave to the man you married, apparently for love? A prisoner in your own home until you can't take anymore and risk it all for a taste of freedom.
Well written, although a little stuffy, but then so many Victorian styled works are.
