This was a really great book. Olivia and Chuck have AMAZING chemistry (seriously, like wow), and you can really see that they do care for each other, but are struggling to communicate their needs.

Obviously, having a million dollars offered to you and all you have to do is live with your ex for a month seems like a good deal, but the production company throws a lot of curve balls to make it more interesting (and wow, it definitely was interesting).

There is a lot of complexity in the story too. Olivia is trying to care for her Grandmother, and is trying to fight the spotlight of being a supposed “affair child”. And Chuck is trying to make it in Hollywood, but is also keeping a secret he cant expose. You really feel what these characters are going through.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It would be a good beach read!

This forced-proximity romcom has a really cute and original premise. Reality show/competition? Yes, please and thank you. I enjoyed the main female character and her backstory, but did not fall for the main male character at all. The beginning and end were pretty good, however, the middle dragged on too long for me.

I had to pick up and put down this book several times because the viral drama that starts the book is so not my favorite. However, once I got into the rest of the story I fell in face first and couldn't stop. Olivia (avoider of the Hollywood rollercoaster) and Chuck (slightly outcast rising star) are explosive together. Unfortunately, this is especially true when they have an explosive breakup outside on the street where someone films them and their entire fight goes viral. Moreso when her comment "I wouldn't for a million dollars!" gets picked up by a show popular for having someone name their price to do something scary or unpleasant. The rest of the story of Olivia and Chuck, their past and their current situations and all of the things that get in the way of relationships is a fun ride. I loved some of the more mischievous parts, the more caring parts, the parts that create bonds.

Name Your Price was such a fun twist on the forced proximity trope. When Olivia and Chuck’s latest breakup goes viral, Olivia assumed they were finally done for good. What she didn’t anticipate was the chance to win a million dollars - each! The only catch? Chuck and Olivia need to stay in a house together for a whole month without breaking any of the rules. All while being filmed for a new reality tv show.

I really had a lot of fun reading this book. The premise was great and I loved all of the challenges thrown their way while filming. I only wish the filming/reality tv portion of the book had lasted a bit longer. While there is no denying Olivia and Chuck’s passion, I just didn’t fully buy that they were able to work through their issues that quickly. In particular I really enjoyed Olivia’s development and the storyline regarding her parents. I’m glad she was able to find some closure.

— 2.5 ⭐️ Disappointed. Even though the storyline describe how is “the entertainment industry works” in details. But, truthfully, I was expecting something better than this from the author itself. I was mesmerized with “The DejaGlitch” that was published last year, but with this book, it was like tore up my high expectations from her.

The story starts between Chuck and Olivia has scandal in front of Chuck’s apartment. With how it’s going and the setting of place in the middle of some kind Hollywood sensation, that creates the ideas to casted both of them as the characters in a reality show called “Name Your Price”. Because of few things related with ‘money’, however the conditions and shameful of doing it, Olivia agreed. Even though the main reasons she doesn’t want to be in front of the camera because of the scandals her parents has back then. With how the timelines go, they ended up not winning the price they offered but the bright side was, Chuck and Olivia can solved their problems and received solace from their pasts.

The characters and emotions that Mrs. James put into phrases that easy to understand for not my first language, gave me thrill, relatable scenes, and understanding of the things that happened in the entertainment industries. Some of the readers that work in this industry might understand it better, but, for me who didn’t, it clearly somehow gives me ideas and imaginations how it works. It is similar with the things that happened in Asian entertainment as well, not that much different. However, compared to the first book that I’ve read from her, this is kinda disappointing. There’s nothing special about it and not even leaving a special mark on me.

Lastly, for the people who would like to know “The Hollywood fame” industries work, this book give a glimpse of how it worked. With adding a special spice and romance, what would make this more interesting. However, in my case, it was not. Enjoyed most of it with the writing and the surprise but wouldn’t be bother to get back to this book once it’s over.

Premise great. Execution…… not so much. I was on board for the first 25%. Lost interest during about 50% and DNF around 65%

While I loved Holly James’s last book, I did not enjoy this one. There were too many issues for me, mainly with our main characters. There is no chemistry between them beyond physical. All they do is have sex and fight. And the fighting is for such small and petty things. Like they can’t even have a single conversation without it turning into a fight on some level. I also feel like neither Olivia or Chuck have any critical thinking skills. I was rolling my eyes at their choice so many times. My other issue with this book was the game show, which I feel like there was no structure for. Their challenge is meant to be one episode long, but the crew creates so many challenges and interviews, that there’s too much content for one episode.

Overall, I did not like this book and do not recommend.

This book had a lot of potential but was just kind of meh to me. I didn't feel the chemistry between the main characters beyond bickering, which is understandable being exes but as the reader I'm supposed to root for that? I've liked Holly James books in the past, so I'll continue to read her new stuff.

Olivia and Chuck have intense chemistry - the kind that can lead to explosive arguments but continues to bring them back together. But after one very public, very heated fight, they are finally broken up for good. Too bad their fight went viral. Before they know it they are offered a life-changing amount of money if they agree to film a reality show where they live together - and they have to make it an entire month without touching to get the money. With super high stakes, and their incredible chemistry and nowhere to escape, Olivia is in for a huge challenge.

I thought this was such a fun premise - I’m a sucker for a reality show romance, but this was a different twist than we usually see and I was here for it. While I wasn’t sure Olivia and Chuck were good for each other at first, as the story progressed and we got more of their stories, I found myself rooting for them. The banter in this book is top notch, and made for a really fun read.

This one took me a bit to get into. I’ve read books that had a reality tv show setting before and loved them so I’m not quite sure why this one didn’t hit differently for me.

I still enjoyed the book, don’t get me wrong. I think there was some disconnect between me as a reader and the two MCs: Chuck and Olivia. I feel like some of the story was a little rushed in some parts and some others could’ve been condensed a little more.

But all in all, this was a cute and a fun read once I did get into it. I always love a good ex story hehehe.

I do not do reality television but sign me up to watch this book hit the screen! The chemistry is perfection.

Super cute read! As a lover of all things reality tv, this was the right kind of book to go with the obsession. Only thing I would have wished was different was a dual POV aspect.

Name Your Price was a quick and fun second chance romance book. I was able to listen to the audiobook and it definitely made the story more enjoyable.

It’s in the heroine’s POV only, which was okay but I think having the hero’s POV could have benefited the story more.

It’s dual POVs of the main characters, Olivia Martin and Chuck Walsh, and there are some great tropes like forced proximity, one bed, exes to lovers, a celebrity and second chance romance.

The overall premise was entertaining with the main characters being exes and starring in a reality tv show together. Some of the game rules and challenges lead to some very amusing, intense and steamy moments. The pacing of the story however, was a bit too fast-paced and there were certain subplots that could have been more expanded on.

The romance between the main characters wasn’t my favorite but still okay. While, the physical part of their relationship was very passionate and the one aspect they were great at, everything else between them felt quite underwhelming. I just didn’t feel that deep connection between them.

I will say though, them being stuck together lead to some angsty, tension-filled and emotional moments. They were also able to communicate and discuss some of their issues, which I liked.

The third act conflict and resolution was okay as well. It was quite rushed and I wished certain aspects could have been more explored upon. But the ending and epilogue were really sweet.

Overall, this was just a solid second chance romance book.

Olivia Martin and her boyfriend, Chuck Walsh, have a love/hate relationship. While they are good together in many ways, Olivia cannot forgive him for not making it to a special dinner she had planned for her grandmother who raised here. Chuck is an actor and had to attend an audition that came up at the last minute. They are having a huge fight and breaking up. Unfortunately, someone filmed their fight outside on the street and it has gone viral.

Olivia’s mother was a famous actress but was killed in a car accident when Olivia was a baby. Her grandmother, Ruby raised her. There was enough money from her mother to cover her college expenses but it is dwindling. Ruby is now in a care home but the fees are high with Olivia two months in arrears and she doesn’t know where she is going to get the money to pay for it.

Olivia receives a call to do a segment on a show called Name Your Price, This came about from the video of the fight she and Chuck had. She has heard that people on the show must do unappealing things to win some money so her first thought is to decline. But she agrees to do it when she finds that she and Chuck will both be involved and filmed inside a house that they will share for a month. If they stay, they will each win a million dollars. Needing the money for her grandmother, she agrees.

While I felt this book got off to a slow and silly start, I can honestly say that it ended with a big splash. I loved how Olivia and Chuck literally grew up and realized what was important in life. There are so many subplots that blend well with the story making it warm and happy. Enjoy!

Despite not being a huge reality TV viewer, I seem to love it in books -- and this one definitely didn't disappoint. Olivia and Chuck do truly have the chemistry that the description promises, with a healthy dose of character development as well. A quick and fun read that I'd definitely recommend!

What I loved about this book:
- The reality tv/game show take was so unique! It gave a true BTS look at reality tv which was intriguing.
- Forced proximity with off-the-charts sexual chemistry 😮‍💨 you could cut the tension with a butter knife!
- The relationship between Olivia & her grandma, Ruby, was absolutely adorable and showed the power of love & family. 🥰
- The character development for Olivia was fantastic! (Maybe she was the problem all along 🤔)

I could not put this book down! I loved the plot and the characters. It was such a fun read. I normally do not love the Hollywood type of books but this one hit the mark. I highly recommend it for the Rom-com lovers.

Typically, I’m not a fan of romance books. They’re usually too plain-Jane and boring to me without the threat of death or war in the background. However, in Name Your Price, Holly James created a hook that lured me in and kept me interested.
The explosive chemistry between Chuck and Olivia is so fun. Olivia has a rich family history (with themes that reminded me of Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo) that keeps her from going deeper than the sex and fights with Chuck. Chuck totally comes off as a (hot) arrogant prick but deep down is vulnerable and sweet, which is the best type of man to read about. When they get stuck in a house with rules for no physical contact, the chemistry between the 2 is even more nail-biting.

Overall, I loved this story and this book. If all romance books were this good I would probably read more of the genre. Who knows, maybe this will encourage me to pick up more romance novels.

I enjoyed this book. I thought the idea behind it was very interesting. Being forced to stay in a house for a month with your ex on a reality TV show is a fun idea. The main couple has amazing chemistry together and after seeing them being forced in the same house you can really see how good they are as a couple. I also really liked the side plots involving Olivia's parents and the reason behind Chuck's firing. It made for something else to be interested in besides their relationship.
