I loved this book so much. Second chance romances especially when they go from lovers to enemies and back to lovers is my jam. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
The chemistry between them is unreal. So good. This story made me cry, sigh, laugh out loud, growl, it put me through the ringer.
Seriously such an amazing story.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the free ARC!

I loved this one! It was a spicy page-turner with the always fun celebrity/Hollywood element. I’m not a big fan of reality TV, so those scenes weren’t my favorite, but thankfully the book focused less on the TV show than I thought it would. Chuck and Olivia had great chemistry. I read this in one day, so obviously I would recommend it!
Thank you to the publisher - I received a complimentary eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

“Name Your Price” by Holly James is a romcom with an interesting twist. Our main characters start the book in a fight, a silly fight, but a fight none-the-less that escalates enough for bystanders to record it and change our characters lives forever.
Olivia and Chuck have been in an on-again/off-again relationship for while now (the timeframe is never really clear). They break up and make up with almost every fight they have. The latest fight lands them a reality tv show deal to live together for a month and win 1 million dollars. Of course from here reality tv show antics ensue.
Let me say I did come to enjoy this book. I even shed a tear at the end, but the main characters are immature and so are their fights. I actually almost didn’t finish the book because I found the fighting was so inexplicably childish for the first 30% of the book It was probably meant to be funny how outlandish they acted, but it didn’t work for me. Once the characters really started opening up to each other, that’s when the story really took off me in a much better way. Olivia and Chuck really did have great chemistry, but I wanted more emotions rather than, “omg he is so hot, but I hate him”. Once that happened, I really enjoyed the story and their character development. I get that the immaturity in the beginning helps show growth at the end, it just wasn’t believable immaturity, if that makes sense.
I think many readers will love this premise and this story. Thank you NetGalley for the eARC! 3.5 stars, rounded up!

Rules are made to be broken!
Olivia Martin loved Chuck Walsh but when he cancelled plans for the last time she had enough of him ending in a huge fight in front of his apartment building to hopefully never see him again. She never expected that someone was filming their breakup and posting the video online and it goes viral. She never expected that Name Your Price game show would come calling.
Olivia agreed to do the show because she needed money to pay for her grandmother’s nursing home but she never expected being around Chuck twenty-four hours a day would cause them both to break all the rules while they tried to win the money.
I loved where Olivia and Chuck would forget how good they were together when they tried to stay away from each other.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Olivia and Chuck are the definition of a whirlwind, and when one of their more dramatic fights goes viral they come face to face with the question of whether they can cohabitate without any physical contact in order to win $1 million. Olivia is caring, stubborn, witty, and trying to navigate her unwanted fame due to her celebrity parents’ scandal and subsequent deaths. Chuck is a hotshot movie star who appears like a modern-day Narcissus, but is in reality bashful and compassionate. The pairs' relationship is full of highs and lows resulting in an entertainment goldmine for the reality tv show they’re competing in, as well as for the reader.
My biggest issue with this book was the repetitive discussions of their chemistry in the beginning of the story. It felt like in an effort to establish how much raw chemistry the pair had it was mentioned approximately 15 times each chapter how much they desired the other. This became less so as the book progressed, but I found it so overdone in the beginning. I also hate, hate, HATE long chapters, but that’s just a personal preference!
Overall I ended up enjoying this book and found it to be unique in execution even whilst employing tried-and-true romance tropes. Chuck’s vulnerability and the way Olivia and Chuck fought like hell amongst each other, but eventually for their relationship, was entertaining and eventually nuanced.

This is the ultimate fun Hollywood story! The banter and tension between Olivia and Chuck is fantastic, and I adored the way James ups the ante at every turn for these two as they navigate an already impossible situation. With depth and heart, this read was a perfect warm-feels read--and I loved the way Chuck manages to turn into such a fantastic hero.

It has been a while since a book has pulled me in so quickly. But I LOVED Chuck and Liv's chemistry. I was in love with this story from the start. The side characters were amazing, the dialogue was great. Everything felt liked it just worked.
If i had one small note, it was that the chapters were too long, I am definitely a short chapter girlie. But overall this book was amazing. I will definitely be checking out more from this author!

Name Your Price was SO much fun! I was gripped from the very first chapter. I loved the unique premise of exes being stuck together to film a reality show, and then tension throughout the entire book was *chef's kiss*. I really appreciated the way we got to see the couple work through their issues and come out the other side. A delightful book from start to finish!

could you survive being stuck in a house with your hot ex for a month? i would try for a million dollars. so i can't blame olivia for taking the opportunity. however, i can blame holly james for a pacing problem. her last book ('deja glitch') also suffered from a similar fate. i just about threw my phone at the 79% mark (iykyk) and considered DNF'ing it out of frustration. thankfully, the pace - and character development - picks up, and my reading of olivia and chuck's every last breath in the house is redeemed. but dang did that take work.
although the chemistry appears to be more tell than show, there is great tension and spice between our main characters, and i believe olivia and chuck's care for one another. although at times insufferable in their own ways, they are still characters you want to root for - individually and together. the side characters are also fun people who have depth. and we love a good grandma-granddaughter relationship.
an interesting story with developed characters that requires too much patience from its reader.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Truly felt like I was on set of a reality TV show the entire book!!
Olivia and Chuck recently broke up and unfortunately their break-up was taped and went viral. During this exchange, Olivia says “I wouldn’t get back with you, even for a million dollars” not knowing a TV producer would eat that up + make it reality! These two are challenged to live together under the same roof for a month with the return prize of a million dollars. It’s not that simple though, they can’t leave the house and there’s even “challenges” on the show to compete in along the way. I enjoyed this easy and cutie read! I LOVED ITTTT!
Expect:
• slow burn
• forced proximity
• second chance romance
• banter

Olivia & Chuck have chemistry. Too much chemistry, perhaps. Their every interaction as a couple either lights the house up with sexual tension or burns it down with anger. After one huge, very public fight, they finally break up for good. But someone was filming their dramatic argument in the street & the video goes viral. When Name Your Price, a reality game show, sees the footage, they invite Olivia and Chuck to shoot a very unusual Live locked in a house together for one month and they will be paid a million dollars. Each.
Well if you love enemies-to-lovers + second chance (in their case nth chance) romance, then this is your book.
The writing, set-up, characters, everything was so quirky & humorous. I enjoyed Olivia & Chuck's banter so much.
Maybe it's me and my reading slump, but I felt like this reality tv setting didn't appeal to me much. And at times, Olivia & Chuck really acted childish. But I did enjoy the writing!

this book was so funny and cute. it’s definitely a romcom, and i absolutely adore this forced proximity type of romance read!

What would you do if you had to live with your ex for a million dollars?
After a huge break up that happens on the street and is recorder, that's exactly what happens to Olive and Chuck. As someone who loves trashy reality TV, I had high hopes for this book. The banter and premise of the story was so so so good - but unfortunately even the forced proximity trope that this book presents didn't do it for me. I think the main problem for me was Chuck. I wasn't swooning over him and some of his choices and words just weren't my fave.
This book is a fun quick read, but it just wasn't my fave.

Right off the bat, really dislike Chuck. I guess he’s a typical LA guy but obsessed with his skincare and clothes? Missed her grandmother’s birthday? He also doesn’t listen when she’s telling him she’s upset about it but instead turns the tables on her. How am I supposed to root for this guy?
Further into the book and he is on a special diet so he constantly turns down places to eat to where they don’t go out and end up at home and miserable AND he doesn’t wash dishes and is very messy AND is rude to the assistant. I’m 25% in and if this is supposed to be a romance book, I cannot fathom wanting these people together.
Of course Olivia isn’t much better. She’s extremely immature and self serving. They do start getting along and their issues seem pretty trite about halfway through so much that flashbacks have to be used as filler because there isn’t a good, solid reason these two can’t exist in harmony and get the million dollars, or even just get back together. Then of course the “big secret.” Olivia is supposed to be an intelligent, educated woman but she can’t see how easily she’s being manipulated so much that she does the absolute dumbest thing possible. This running thing is SO weird and childish. Her grandmother pointing out how she knows how tabloid photos are manipulated based on her whole entire life just sealed the deal for me that I don’t like either character. I don’t want this couple together and I don’t want them to get the money. I could see what was happening a mile away and didn’t even need the Madison explanation.
This is a couple based on lust, not love. I think this is even more so apparent after their initial meeting after leaving the house. Then the part about Astrid. After all that time, her suddenly having a change of heart? Also, why was she written like she is 60 or 70 years old. The whole “divorce would have hurt her career” sounds like something from the 50’s when all of that should have taken place in the 90’s right? I was alive then. Divorce wasn’t hurting any actors. So should Astrid maybe be 50? She’s “lived her life”? WTF?
I love HEA. I love everything working out even if it’s not based in reality, but this was all too much. Too convenient and not really deserved. I wish I had liked this book better. I wanted to like it so much more. The main characters needed to have been written more sympathetic and more emotionally intelligent in the beginning for the ending to be worth it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton Books for the ARC.

For anyone craving Love Island Villa vibes, this is the romance for you. Great chemistry and a very fun premise, I couldn’t put this LA love story down. Holly James writes such fun stories, I’m already sad I have to wait so long for the next one. Thank you Netgalley and Dutton for my copy!

"Name Your Price" is such a delightful read.
If you are a fan of reality tv and drama, this is the book for you. Olivia and Chuck are a couple that have plenty of fiery passion but a lack of communication skills. This is evident when a blowout, break up lands them on the internet in a viral moment everyone is talking about. Cue the producers of a hit tv show, "Name Your Price" swooping in to capitalize on their sudden infamy. Chaos ensues and lessons are learned on set.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a quick read with a lot of laugh out loud, funny moments. I will definitely be sharing this one with my friends.
Thank you NetGalley, Holly James, and Dutton for gifting me this ARC.

I got immediately sucked in by the premise of this book. Chuck and Olivia really did have great chemistry on the page and the idea of them being stuck together in a house for a reality show got me excited. I was a bit disappointed by how the third act breakup was done (kind of cliche and unbelievable), and the denouement was a bit drawn out, but overall this was a really fun, cute book that I enjoyed reading.

Having chemistry is NOT Olivia and Chuck's problem. Well, it's a problem, but in a different way. Despite being able to turn up the heat in nearly any situation, they realize it's not exactly a healthy way to have a relationship. But when an opportunity for a million dollars knocks on their doors in the form of a reality TV show where they have to live in the same house for a month, they can't turn it down.
This book was so fun! Olivia and Chuch were such a compelling couple, and their love/hate issues were 🔥 The way that I was rooting for them along with the producers! The reality TV part was great, too, because who doesn't want a peek behind that curtain? Definitely a unique premise that I think lots of people will like!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton Books for the advanced copy!!
This was a really fun read! I am obsessed with reality TV so I knew I was in for a treat with this one! The story had a lot of depth to it and the characters had really important backstories that added to who they were. This had all my favorite tropes; I love forced proximity, second chance and of course only one bed. This was a really enjoyable read that I flew through because I was really invested in this story. It was funny, light hearted and filled with so much tension.
I highly recommend!!
Thank you again to NetGalley and Dutton Books for the advanced copy!

Olivia and Chuck have an explosive relationship so it only makes sense that they have an explosive break-up. Now, the video of their break-up goes viral, Olivia and Chuck get the opportunity to win big bucks. The only catch? They have to live together for a month without leaving the house...at all.
This book was a top read for the year for me! Here's what I loved:
The Forced Proximity: I love this trope and this book was the perfect situation for it. Olivia and Chuck have literally no way to get away from each other. On top of that, they are thrown some hilarious, and difficult, challenges that make their lives even harder.
The romance: I adored the relationship between these two. They have a strong physical attraction that pushes them together all the time. But it goes beyond that. They are funny and caring while trying to not be. I loved it.
The side stories: This book has a few side stories that really drive the narrative beyond just a usual romance. You get into Olivia's family and Chuck's acting life (and scandal).
All in all, this was such an amazing and funny romance! Top read of 2024!
Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy!
