Name Your Price was a fun and empowering read with a great message about knowing your worth. I really enjoyed the premise and the main character’s journey of self-discovery. The writing was engaging, and there were plenty of moments that made me smile.
While I didn’t fully connect with every part of the story, I still appreciated the themes of confidence and ambition. The romance was cute, though I wished for a bit more depth. Overall, it was an enjoyable read with a positive message, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a light, feel-good story.

Unmistakable chemistry from first meet of our MCs. This was a hot and sweet romcom with my favorite trope— forced proximity. Loved the concept of the book and found the characters to be really likeable!

This book had a super cute premise and I love second-chance romances. With that being said, I feel like it was a little drawn out at parts. It was very cute, just not fast paced at all. Honestly, I wish I could watch the show. Olivia and Chuck just have so much chemistry.
*Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin Group Dutton, and Holly James for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.*

I originally liked the premise of this story- two exes put into a situation of forced proximity via a reality tv show- because it would give the characters a chance to confront their issues head on- and I love a second chance romance!
However, the chemistry between the two just didn't feel genuine within the pages. It gave more of a simple lust for each other, vs affection. And the miscommunication trope was dripping from the pages via consistent petty fights, emotional immaturity, and random physical intimacy. I did not see any deep connection between the two to convince me they belonged together and deserved to give each other that second change. Also the world building was weird for the show- no internet but they could have their personal phones? Was their a service block to prevent them from using the internet, orrrrr did they just....not think to use it??

I loved the characters. I loved the banter. I loved following all the types of movie theme. This book is great if you need a rom com. Thank you to the authors and the publisher for allowing me to read this.

I liked it, didn’t love it.
The concept of this romance novel was unique, two exes stuck in a house together for reality tv. I haven’t read any reality tv books before. This book is a second chance romance, force proximity situation. The book dives into the lives of celebrities and the media. It discusses how media photos and gossip isn’t the full story and how lives can be affected by it. It was an interesting discussion on how fake media is and how it can be applied to more than celebrity gossip.
It was a fun, quick read with enough drama to keep me turning the pages.
My issue with the book was with the main characters. I didn’t like either one of them and wasn’t rooting for their relationship. Both main characters are awful at the beginning of the book and their break up shows how incapable they are. They instantly jump into forced proximity in a house they cannot leave for 30 days. However, there is no time for their growth between the break up and the relationship to start again. It didn’t feel like either character really grows during the novel. The issues that Olivia have with Chuck don’t seem resolved. He cleans his dishes once and suddenly he’s a new man. The book explores the reasons why each character acts out and why there were truths hidden but I didn’t see a lot of growth in their character development.
There were a few plot points at the end of the book that had holes in them and seems unbelievable.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. Big picture, it kept my attention and had an interesting storyline. The smaller details? Not a huge fan- communication could have solved so many problems (which is true in a lot of romance books), but the FMC lying to her grandma about being 2 months behind in payments at the care facility she’s in? MMC lying to his parents about being fired from a job? Also, there wasn’t a lot of redeeming romance or relationship building that had me rooting for them. Lots of lust. I’m glad they got their HEA and therapy, though!

I love a reality tv romance book - it aligns with almost all of my interests into one! And enemies to lovers / second chance? It's as good as it sounds for any Bravo/Bachelor fan!

Holly James has hit it out of the park once again with her latest rom-com, Name Your Price. Even though it is not surreal like her first two novels, it is so engaging that I read it all in one day! (And that was with being busy part of the day.)
I loved the premise of this novel and there was a great deal of emotion throughout. The chemistry between Olivia and Chuck was extremely hot! I was constantly surprised and the story was not predictable at all. There was more going on behind the scenes while Olivia and Chuck were stuck in a house together and it was interesting to see how things would play out. Especially after they had to deal with the challenges from the show and hiding their re-emerging passion from the audience. It's the perfect kind of rom-com mixing several tropes and it would play out really well on screen.
I definitely recommend this novel and look forward to more from Holly James!

The story follows Poppy, a woman who, facing financial struggles, joins a dating app where potential suitors bid on her time, essentially setting their own price for a date. The book shines with its humor—Poppy’s witty inner thoughts and the amusing situations she finds herself in make for an entertaining read. They get thrown together in a once in a lifetime situation and have no choice but to take advantage of a chance at one million dollars. I am a fan of this story because it’s not just about a relationship. There is depth with Olivia’s backstory and family, and we get to learn a little more about Chuck as well. It was a quick and fun read and I enjoyed it.

I’d like to thank @penguingroupdutton and @netgalley for a e-arc of this novel.
Olivia Martin was the product of a true Hollywood love story. Her father was a famed celebrity manager and her mother was the IT Girl of the eighties and nineties. Their relationship was as famous as the careers they created. Why? The gossip for years was that Olivia’s parents had an ongoing affair while her father was still married. The product of that affair was said to be Olivia.
Fast forward years later and both of Olivia’s superstar parents have passed. Raised by her grandmother, the fame of Olivia’s parents still haunts her, but she’s continued to remain somewhat removed from the lights, camera, action. Or so she thought…
Chuck Walsh is known as Tinsletown’s Bad Boy. After a fight breaks out between Chuck and an A-list director, his popularity is at an all time low. His next role has to be one that will get him back on top.
What do these two have in common? Well, they both need money and fast. Olivia and Chuck have been fighting - I mean dating for years. They’re the couple who have more fun making up than actually being together. Who knew an everyday argument could possibly be their next paycheck?
After an altercation in the street between the two goes viral, the couple is approached to star in a viral TV concept. Thirty days, under one roof, no leaving and no physical touching. If they can both survive, they’ll win a million dollars.

This was such an enjoyable read, I gave it a very solid 5 stars. Chuck and Olivia were fun to read about, they weren't always the perfect book characters but I felt like it worked with the premise of the book. The beginning of the book got me hooked so fast, the middle decent and while I did not agree with how the ending played out it definitely had me engaged the entire time. I would definitely recommend to my friends for a fun "beach read" type book.
Thank you so much to Netgalley, Holly James, and Penguin Group for providing this free ARC.

Former lovers Olivia and Chuck compete on reality tv to live in the same house for a month for a million dollars each. Such a cute premise, a quick and fun plot and great character development. There had always been instant attraction between the two main characters but I appreciated how they learned and grew their true love for each other over the course of the book. An entertaining, modern romcom!

This is a cute novel that is light hearted, entertaining romcom that I was unable to put down. Fantastic book.

This book is a perfect example of the "forced proximity" trope done right! The premise immediately hooked me, and James does a fantastic job capturing the push-and-pull dynamic between the main characters, Olivia and Chuck. Their chemistry is off the charts, and the way they’re simultaneously drawn to and annoyed by each other is just so much fun to read—it’s like watching two magnets trying to figure out if they’ll attract or repel.
The romance is more of a slow burn, but it’s like a candle that keeps burning steadily, never going out. The tension between them is absolutely worth the wait, and I couldn’t get enough of their banter and the sparks flying between them.
I also loved how the story wrapped up. The ending felt satisfying, with the writer giving us a glimpse into Olivia and Chuck’s lives after the main events. It was great to see how everything played out for them and how their choices impacted their future.
If you’re into romances with strong tension, witty characters, and a well-rounded ending, I’d totally recommend this book!

I don't know I wanted to love this but I just can't. I do like it and I think it had a lot of potential. I just wasn't a fan of the execution of the reality tv concept and I think the main characters could have had better chemistry.

Wonderful story, great character development, great writing! Highly recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it

When the fight that finally breaks them up goes viral, Olivia and Chuck are asked to compete in a game show. The catch - they have to stay in a house together for one month to win a million dollars. The two learn more about each other and have some honest conversations which lead to their feelings for each other growing stronger and steamier.
The chemistry between Olivia and Chuck really jumps off the page! This was a very fun and entertaining read. I loved the reality TV aspect that gives you a sort of behind the scenes look at how producers can spin things to make more drama.
