NAME YOUR PRICE by Holly James is a second-chance romance that is just dripping with sexual tension and frustration.

Olivia and Chuck fight as passionately as they make up, and their final breakup is captured in a video that goes viral. It catches the attention of a game show producer. Now they have to spend 30 days trapped in a house together to win money they both desperately need. Like all reality game shows, there are surprise challenges, designed to create drama and push them to the limit. But the very forced proximity gives them opportunities to talk about their relationship in ways they had previously avoided and remember why it was they came together in the first place.

James does such a good job of winding them tighter and tighter, so you're just waiting for someone to snap. Absolutely delightful anticipation and delayed gratification.

NAME YOUR PRICE comes out July 30th.

Thank you NetGalley, Penguin Group Dutton and Holly James for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Olivia and Chuck have chemistry and an instant connection but it’s volatile and explosive. They break up in a fantastic public display that is caught on camera and goes viral.

Soon, they’re approached for a reality show challenge for an insane amount of prize money if they can live together for a month. Due to sensitive circumstances for each of them, they need the prize money and agree to the show.

The show has challenges that pushes them individually and as a “couple” and they each admit to some areas of weakness that impacted their relationship and are forced to recognize some of the others favorable qualities.

I wished the chapters were shorter but that was my only complaint.

I am so picky about second chance romances, and this one did not do it for me. I need the couple to go through some real work for me to believe in a second chance at happily ever after and I did not get that with this book at all.

Once again Holly James has written a book that I couldn’t put down.

After being in a reading slump for 2.5 months, Name Your Price was the first book in a while to keep me interested.

I loved Olivia and Chuck’s story and will definitely be purchasing this when it comes out; as well as recommending it to others.

4 1/2 stars - such an enjoyable read. Olivia and Chuck were such a great couple and both grew so much in the short week they spent together doing a TV show. Definitely going to check out this author's other books.

First of all, thank you Dutton and NetGalley for access to this e-arc!

Plot: This story centers around a woman named Olivia. She was orphaned as a baby and raised by her grandma. Her parents were famous and got together via scandal, but her grandma had tried to keep her out of the limelight.

Olivia is dating Chuck, a d-list movie star who recently got fired from a high profile film set. Their relationship is tumultuous, and they get into a shouting match and break up in public - the whole thing is filmed and goes viral. A producer of a reality show Name Your Price offers them a million dollars if they can live together for a month and not leave the property. I won’t say too much more for fear of spoiling this one.

Review:

This plot is right up my alley. I love the unique spin that the reality tv angle adds, I love that it’s a second chance romance and the one bed trope/forced proximity. The writing is great - I love the banter between the two leads.

Honestly, the first 65-75% of this novel, I was LOVING this. But the plot went a different direction in the last 25-35%, and I didn’t like it. I also didn’t like the twist about why Chuck got fired, and I didn’t like the additional information we learn about Olivia’s parents. The smut was fine, but one of the scenes felt a little long. I was not a fan of the epilogue.

So overall, I would recommend this - especially to those who love rom coms. I had a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This was so cute!! I really enjoyed the game/reality show aspect to this. I’m always looking for books like that but tend to stray away because they can be a little cringe. This was so good and kept me entertained. It had the perfect mixture of humor and romance.

Could you live with your ex for a month to win a million dollars? I loved Holly James’ take on this storyline and found it to be a new and refreshing concept. The two main characters are the perfect example of how love isn’t always easy and often needs some extra work and open communication to flourish. Great read, would definitely recommend.

This was ok, though I think there were some pacing issues that made me really dislike MMC until the big reveal of exactly why he got fired and that wasn’t until around the 70% mark. I’m glad that Olivia got to learn the truth about her parents and decide to tell the story on her own terms. I normally like celeb centric romances but the way Chuck was developed especially towards the beginning made it really hard to root for him. Like I’d go see him in a movie or buy a magazine he was on the cover of but I’m not all that invested in his love life. I am glad they mentioned therapy in the epilogue, they both needed it.

I found "Name Your Price" by Holly James to be a fun and engaging read. The blend of romance with a touch of fantasy made the story really interesting. I could relate to the main character's journey, and it kept me hooked throughout. Holly James's writing is witty and funny, with plenty of moments that made me laugh. Even though the plot was a bit predictable at times, the charming characters and great dialogue made it a worthwhile read for anyone who enjoys light-hearted romance.

Name Your Price is such a fun, singable romcom perfect for the summer! Olivia and Chuck have explosive chemistry, but their arguing is just as explosive, and when a video goes viral of them breaking up, the two are approached for a reality show to live together for a month for a million dollars, there’s no escaping their problems, and there’s no hiding from it, especially with the show’s challenges and no touching rule. I read this in an afternoon. It’s engaging and funny and has just the right amount of angst to it. I do think in how the book I advertised, there’s a little trouble since the description says Chuck is doing the show to win Olivia back, so I wish they either left that out or had Chuck’s POV involved to add to that. It feels clear in the book, but it also is such a reveal moment to Olivia that ends up feeling a touch lackluster since the reader knows it already from the description. But still, I really liked this. The Hollywood/entertainment angle and the reality show spin was really fun. And Olivia and Chuck have striking chemistry. The subplot of Olivia’s family history is well developed too. The forced proximity trope in it really let for a great romance to develop and watching them fall back in love with each other was just really lovely and the intimacy was so well done. Just a really fun romcom with characters who are easy to root for.

Name Your Price by Holly James was a captivating read with a storyline that felt new and exciting. The premise of a public breakup followed by the need to live together seemed implausible at first, but with a million dollars at stake, I could understand the motivation!

The characters were well-developed and thoroughly engaging, making it easy to fall in love with them. This unique setup kept me hooked from start to finish. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review. If you're looking for a fresh, entertaining romance, this book is definitely worth picking up!

Name Your Price follows Olivia Martin, a 30-year-old journalist and love child of former Hollywood stars, and Chuck Walsh, a C-list actor trying to make it big.

The book opens with a massive fight between Olivia and Chuck in which they break-up and she screams at him that she wouldn't get back together with him even for a million dollars. Unbeknownst to them, someone filmed the fight and posted it online. Chuck's pseudo-celebrity and Olivia's parents infamy make the clip go quickly viral.

Subsequently, they are offered a spot on a reality show where they would win a million dollars - each - if they can stay in a house together for 30 days. Obviously, various challenges and hijinks are thrown in along the way.

I thought the premise of the story was really interesting and I mostly enjoyed it. It just didn't grab my attention. It took over 20 days for me to read. I think mostly because of Olivia. She didn't read like a 30 year old woman. She read like an impulsive 19 year old. Which really just kind of clashed with how her background was described otherwise. Every problem that arose in this book happened because she either ran away, jumped to conclusions, or didn't communicate.

Overall though, I liked the story and would read Holly James again.

"Name Your Price" by Holly James offers a light-hearted yet predictable take on second-chance romance with a reality TV twist., somewhat in the vein of the "Big Brother" reality show. While the premise of being locked in a house together seems like a great setup for humor and tension, the plot sometimes feels contrived, and the character development - nonexistent. However, fans of rom-coms and reality TV dramas might enjoy the fairly well-written emotional highs and lows. Overall, it's a decent, if somewhat formulaic, read.

Name your price by Holly James

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

“Chuck turned to her with an ill, stricken look on his face. “There’s no internet,” he said as gravely as if they’d been sentenced to death. Olivia exhaled a breath big enough to make her head hurt. “Chuck! I thought you were dying out here!” “I might as well be!” he nearly shrieked.”

This book was so good! They broke up and are forced to live in a house together for a month in return they will get 1 million dollars💰the condition is they can’t touch each other intimately…… shouldn’t be too hard right???

I relate to Olivia so much in this book. How she doesn’t really let people get too close. Always finds a way to start a fight or ends up running out on any argument.. chuck has been fighting to keep them together… but will it be enough

I recommend reading this. Was a very light fast read.

Name Your Price is a charming second chance romance. Olivia and Chuck’s dramatic breakup goes viral after it’s posted to social media. They are approached by a reality show to live in the same house for a month to win a million dollars. They learn a lot about themselves, each other, and their relationship during this process.

I grew up watching Big Brother on CBS and I’ve always romanticized the concept of it so much. Reading this book was a lot of fun! I love that we’re in this era of reality TV but as a book; I am eating it up!

Thank You NetGalley and the Publisher for an advanced e-copy of Name Your Price in exchange for an honest review.

The story follows Olivia and Chuck, ex-lovers who find themselves thrust into the spotlight after their explosive breakup goes viral. To their surprise, they're offered an irresistible deal: star in the hit reality show 'Name Your Price' for an unimaginable sum of money.

Olivia, driven by a desire to pay off her grandmother's nursing home bills, reluctantly agrees. Chuck, hoping to salvage his career after a recent scandal, sees the show as an opportunity for redemption.

The catch? They must live together for a month, under the constant scrutiny of cameras.

The undeniable chemistry between Olivia and Chuck is palpable from the moment they step into the house. The tension between them is both tantalizing and frustrating, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.

The show's challenges and the intrusive production team add an element of chaos to the plot. 'Name Your Price' is a blend of romance, humor, and reality TV escapism.

James' writing is sharp and engaging, with well-developed characters and a plot that moves at a brisk pace. If you're looking for a fun and heartwarming read, you will love 'Name Your Price'.

Name Your Price follows Olivia and Chuck when they have a very public fight they break up for good. Well, so they think. Someone was filing their argument. Olivia's parents were famous and Chuck is an actor. So when the video goes viral they decide to cash on it. They get offered to be on a reality show called Name Your Price. Olivia and Chuck will be locked in a house for a month. If they make it they will each get a million dollars. Chuck is desperate to win Olivia back while Olivia wants the money to help her family. They think that living together for a month will be each. But there is just one bed, one bathroom, and they are not allowed to touch. Will they be able to stand each other for a month?

This is the second book I have read by Holly James. I did not like the first book I read by her. But this book more than made up for that. I thought this book was really cute. This book did have a pretty predictable plot. But I love a second-chance romance. I think this book would be a great movie. If you want a lighthearted cute rom com I would suggest his.
