Charming story with compelling characters. Perfect book for a summer read.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC.

Fun beach read. Olivia, a magazine writer, and Chuck, a young actor, meet when she is assigned to interview him. They hit it off immediately and begin dating, but mostly what they seem to do is fight and have make up sex. One day they break up in the middle of the street and the video goes viral, likely due to the fact that Olivia took her shirt off and screamed she wouldn't get back together with Chuck for a million dollars.
Enter: Reality tv shows producers who offer them a hefty sum to live together for a month. Seems manageable until the producers come up with all sorts of ways to torment them.
Perfectly fun novel

Thanks to Penguin Group Dutton and Netgalley for a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This book was adorable, it was the perfect level of ridiculous for a contemporary romance that feels like fiction but the emotions read like truth.
Olivia and Chuck are in a volatile off and on again relationship. Olivia runs from her problems and Chuck is a people pleaser, so they can't seem to ever finish any fight they start but they also can't stay away from each other (or keep their hands off each other, a very important piece of information). When a video of one of their fights goes viral they're invited onto a reality show that will force them to spend 30 days together uninterrupted. They must participate in a series of challenges, all the while Olivia is unable to escape the conversations she always wants to avoid.
The premise is ridiculous, but in an age where we have reality shows like Vanilla Ice Goes Amish and MILF Island... it's really not that out there. What grounds everything is Olivia and Chuck's relationship. They have issues beyond their control and they need to learn from their mistakes in the past. I actually really appreciated the reality tv aspect of the story, it didn't end the way I expected it to, which is always refreshing. You want a HEA but you don't want a predictable HEA.
Beyond that, Holly James is a good writer. I felt invested in the characters even though I have nothing in common with them (I avoid conflict at all costs and wouldn't be caught dead screaming shirtless in the streets like Chuck and Olivia are in their viral video). I would gladly take a prequel to this story and another novel based on Olivia's best friend. I look forward to reading her other novels.

I couldn’t out this down. The romance in this is both simple and complex. It’s got layers. It’s vulnerable and messy and yet so clear and romantic.

Holly James is such a fantastic author and after reading her novel “Deja Glitch” I had to get my hands on another from her! I was not disappointed! This was such a cute, fun, easy romcom!
This one follows Olivia and Chuck. Olivia is a Hollywood love child of an affair and chuck is a struggling actor and when their explosive, very public break up goes viral they’re made an offer to be on reality tv. Together. Living under one roof for one month!
The chemistry, tension and the second chance. This one was truly so cute!
Thank you Netgalley, Dutton and author Holly James for providing me an advance readers copy in exchange for my honest review.
Release date: July 30th

Although the premise of the book is what initially drew me in, the more I read the more I loved this book. The chemistry between Olivia and Chuck is undeniable and can be easily seen throughout the entirety of the book. I loved seeing their story and reading about them getting over their issues and rekindling their romance. I highly recommend this book to all, as I truly believe it is a great summer read.
Thank you NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the e-ARC.

I had a lot of fun reading this! Olivia and Chuck, our main characters, go on a very intense lovers to enemies to lovers journey here, and I liked being along for the ride. Olivia is a journalist whose parents were both Hollywood icons most famous for their affair that led to Olivia's birth. They died when she was very little and she's been raised by her grandmother who is now in a very expensive LA retirement home that Olivia can no longer afford. Chuck is a B-list actor who was on his way to making it big when he mysteriously quit a big movie and got a bad reputation for being difficult on set. They met when Olivia was assigned to write a profile of Chuck and their chemistry was so immediately intense that she gave up the story and they started dating. Unfortunately, they've got a pretty tumultuous romance, and the last straw for Olivia is when Chuck misses her grandmother's birthday dinner for an audition. They break up - for real this time! - and get into such a big public fight outside of Chuck's apartment that a video someone took goes viral. Olivia, who has mostly tried to stay out of the spotlight because of her parents, is trying to navigate her way through this when she and Chuck get an offer they can't refuse - they get a million dollars each if they can just survive one month together in a house (under constant surveillance) for a reality TV show called "Name Your Price." Of course there are all kinds of trials and tribulations they have to go through - there's no internet, there's only one bed, initially there's no other furniture, and they're not allowed to touch each other without losing money from their millions. That last one is harder than it should be for people who seem to hate each other because their chemistry is really just so explosive. The premise here is a bit silly but I loved the show as a plot device to make these two actually talk to each other. I also enjoyed the secondary characters here along with the intrigue of Olivia's family history and Chuck's mysterious departure from the movie. I was pulled in right from the start and stayed up way too late to see what happened with Olivia and Chuck.

Cute and easy to read rom-com. I liked the premise of a reality show and this was a pretty quick read would definitely be perfect beach/pool read. I want to thank NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Loved the premise but not the execution. The MMC and FMC were each unlikeable and incredibly immature. They didn’t make for a couple that I would want to cheer for. The tension between them in the house was flat despite the great setup. So much telling but not enough showing with the writing. I’m sorry to say this one was a miss for me. Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

An instant romance classic. This book chronicles a couple who, after a very public breakup, is invited to participate in a game show together to win $1 million. They move into a single bedroom home together, and must work together to solve problems, make plans, and just make it through their stint... without killing each other.
In an ending that everyone sees coming, in the best way, Holly James delivers the perfect romance novel experience and a cute story to boot!
*Thanks to NetGalley for providing this ARC!*

A fun, light hearted rom com to boost your mood.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton Books for my advanced copy.
Chuck & Olivia thought they were over, until they end up on a reality show where they must be together in forced proximity to win some money. Perfect for fans of second chance and reality tv.
I didn’t love Chuck, and it’s always tough to rate a rom com higher than a 3 when I didn’t love the MMC. I feel like that should kinda be the point.
It wasn’t for me, but maybe it’s for you!

I received a complimentary copy of this book "Name Your Price" and all opinions expressed are my own. This was a fun, easy read. Overall I liked it and it would be a good summer book.

I had really high hopes for this book. The storyline seemed great, however I cannot get behind the 3rd person writing. It makes it hard to read, and this just seemed like too much fighting over and over for me.

3.5 ⭐️’s Thank you NetGallery for this ARC! Thought the idea of a game show that is sort of like Big Brother meets Survivor with staying in the same place was a cool idea. Didn’t like how rushed everything felt or taht there was a breakup at the beginning. Still cute and funny though!

After an intense start, this book didn't captivate me even though the forced proximity trope is usually one of my favorites. Chemistry between the two MCs was immediately thrown in the reader’s face. I would have appreciated a deeper dive/slower insight into the characters’ backstories. Maybe dual POVs? One thing was clear these two were in serious need of therapy.
I would say it was a fun, easy read. I just hoped for more. 3⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton for this complimentary ARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I've read Holly James 2 other novels that have a magical realism theme to them. I found those books to be fun and lighthearted, they just didn't quite go beyond a sweet, easy to read story that was good but not really memorable for me. The premise of this book intrigued me so I requested the advance copy and I knew at worst I could rely on the author to bring me a sweet story. Boy was I wrong.... and in a good way. I couldn't fly through the pages fast enough. There was substance and a couple with so much chemistry! Chuck and Olivia burn extra hot in the way they communicate with fiery passion and they passionate way they express their desire for each other. That fire was eventually going to get them burned. A viral video of their break-up leads to a reality tv gig and a chance for them to each make a million dollars.
There is a childhood story that has affected Olivia and how she has treated relationships and Chuck is a pleaser of all the people in his life. Loved these too and I was rooting for them from the very start. There were a couple of moments when I felt Olivia's lack of communication style was annoying and almost childish but there was an ends to the means for this couple to work through these issues. I loved that the story openly discusses those relationship failures that plague a lot of relationships. Love this one!

Spice: 1.5 🌶️
Name Your Price is exactly like how it seems- a mix of Love Island, The Bachelor, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians…… but with none of the good parts of these shows.
While I loved the premise of the story, the actual story fell extremely flat. The story didn’t seem fully developed from the premise of the reality show to the background stories for both of the main characters. I even had a hard time feeling the “warm and fuzzies” towards Chuck and Olivia. There were parts that were cute but this one ultimately ended up falling flat for me.
Thanks to NetGalley & Penguin Group Dutton for an ARC of this novel!

This was a solid 3.5 stars for me, so I'm rounding up to 4!
The good:
- I thought this was a really interesting premise and nice spin on the reality TV shows that are so prevalent in today's day and age.
- The writing is good and fast-paced, so it was easy to keep up with and finish in less than a few days.
- The main character was relatable and likable, easy to root for
The could be better:
- I felt like the main characters needed to dislike each other more. The premise would have been more interesting if they actually hated each other, versus just breaking up and having incredible chemistry. The chemistry was great, but I wanted to feel more dislike from them to make the "we have to live in a house together for a month and it's terrible" more believable.
- The love interest (Chuck) was not super likable, and I wasn't really rooting for him to win her back.
- The ending was a little too "wrap a bow on it" and they lived happily ever after. I didn't really feel like the MC had to WORK for much throughout and just had it handed to her. Would have loved to see a little more of an ARC.
Overall, I thought it was a solid and fun read, perfect for a summer trip!

This book starts with relationship-with-each-challenged Olive Martin and actor Chuck Walsh having a screaming argument that ends in the street with Chuck in a towel and Olive chucking off her shirt and throwing it at him. Unbeknownst to them. the whole thing was being filmed by a passerby, and it ended up going viral online. Because Chuck is an actor with his star on the rise and Olive is the daughter of scandal-ridden Hollywood royalty, they are approached by a reality tv show, Name Your Price, to film them in a locked house to see what happens. Since both Olive and Chuck need money for very different reasons, they agree.
However, this book runs deep. Both characters are dealing with much heavier issues that they explore as well as trying to untangle their own very passionate relationship. There were twists and turns I did not expect, but still with a HEA. Also, expect lots of spice!
I definitely enjoyed this read.

This was SUCH an interesting one, but I enjoyed it a lot! Locked together, no touching, in order to win money?! I could feel the tension as I was reading!!
