I feel like a lot of romance books can be the same plot - couple meets, gets together and then eventually there is some type of drama that leads to a break up/disagreement and then most books end with the couple getting back together. I feel like the concept and overall TV competition aspect made it interesting and I liked the story but I didn’t love it.

Holly James is such an underrated author and she has so much room for growth. While her work is already exceptional, but as she produces additional novels, her popularity will only grow. This book was initially requested by me because it has a hint of The Bachelorette/Bachelor, which may or may not make sense to other people.
Olivia Martin and Chuck Walsh are the main characters in this story. As the two of them are having a noisy breakup, it just so happens to be captured on camera and uploaded online for everyone to see. Since the breakup post was uploaded, a reality television program has emerged due to its surprising popularity. The only issue was getting them to agree, despite the production's high expectations for the program.
Being filmed 24/7, locked in a house together with a million dollars each on the line, what could go wrong?
For each of them, accepting the reality program seemed like a no-brainer. They both were truly in need of the money, and it appeared as an easy way to obtain it. Furthermore, even if you try to fight or ignore it, chemistry cannot be denied, thus it gave them another chance. They went into the show with preconceived notions about how simple the entire thing would be, without any idea how the house or the show would turn out. They would undoubtedly survive a whole month confined in a house together if they developed rules, right?
Not only are they granted another chance, but they also resolve the problems that first destroyed their relationship and learn from them, overcoming the things that truly molded who they are as people. This story is a beautiful read and I highly recommend it!

The chemistry in this book was explosive to the max. I loved their relationship and the entire concept of the book.

This was a sweet, light and fun summer romance. It was a clean romance as well! I had a blast reading it and it was an easy read.

I absolutely loved reading this book. It didn't have any SMUT in it but was a clean, summery romance. Grumpy lovers type of trope but still readable, even if it isn't my favorite type of book. This book will suck you in and want more.

Name Your Price had an interesting premise to me with the whole second chance romance via a reality tv competition type show. I was definitely intrigued — ultimately I think it was a fun, easy summer read.
Overall, a book I liked and would recommend for those looking for a light read. While I liked the whole game show aspect, I wish that had been played out a bit more. It was a unique take on the whole forced proximity bit, and so I found it intriguing. I think there was a lot going on, so I kind of wished fit a bit less so we could delve a bit more. However that being said, I’d say this is a good pick for some poolside or travel reading. 🤷🏼♀️😊
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an early copy!

Olivia Martin and Chuck Walsh have chemistry. Too much chemistry, perhaps. Their every interaction as a couple either lights the house up with sexual tension or burns it down with anger. After one huge, very public fight, they finally break up for good. Or so they think. Someone was filming their dramatic argument in the street and—because Olivia’s parents were Hollywood royalty, and because Chuck’s an actor whose star is on the rise—the video goes viral. When Name Your Price, a reality game show, sees the footage, they invite Olivia and Chuck to shoot a very unusual challenge: Live locked in a house together for one month and they will be paid a million dollars. Each.
Olivia really needs the money if she's going to keep her beloved grandmother in her nursing home, and Chuck is desperate for any chance to win Olivia back. So the game is on—even as the show tries to pluck every nerve with only one bed, one bathroom, and a set of rules that will lose them money if broken—including no touching. With stakes that have never been higher and their explosive chemistry at a fever pitch, can Chuck and Olivia keep it together (and their hands off each other) for one month? Find out next week on Name Your Price!
Holly James gets high praise from me for this hilarious, steamy novel. I love the forced proximity trope, and it's done brilliantly in this gem. The banter (and the sex, let's face it!) were top-notch. Highly recommend this for all romance fans!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!

Having read Holly James' prior book, The Deja Glitch, I must say this one was a vast improvement. The characters had much more chemistry and much more emotional depth. Chuck (an actor) and Olivia (a Hollywood journalist/writer) have just had a dramatic public breakup after several months of steamy on again off again relationship. The breakup was filmed and goes viral, drawing the attention of producers and the host of a game show Name Your Price. Both are strapped for cash, and so they agree to live in a house together for a month. They cannot leave, and there are various challenges they have to overcome which make living together more difficult. They also have to keep their hands off of each other. Despite the absurd premise, the two of them may just be forced to come to terms with what went wrong, and whether or not they can make things right.
While I enjoyed this a lot more than the last book James wrote, and there was thankfully a little smut this time, I still think some of the relationship between our main characters was more tell instead of show. So many of Olivia's thoughts were just HE'S SO HOT! But it's like girl...what is it that you actually like about him. What is it that drew you guys together anyway other than that you interviewed him? These pieces do end up getting dropped later on in the story sort of as the audience would be following the game show, which was itself an interesting way of doing things, but it made me a little more detached. This might have been better as a dual POV, rather than just Olivia's.

Would you live with you ex for a chance at a million dollars? Honestly I don’t run k I could ever do that 😂 I did enjoy the banter and the forced proximity, as that’s one of my favorite tropes to read, jus watching the chemistry unfold throughout the book was fun and I thoroughly enjoyed this read!

I normally am not that psyched about romances that are too gimmicky- I feel like the elaborate plot takes away from character growth, and it can be cringey to watch unfold. This was not the case with Name Your Price- it was such a pleasant surprise! Both Chuck and Olivia were well-developed, likable characters. I do wish the author had focused a little less on Chuck’s strict diet, though, because I found it extremely irritating. Get over it, buddy. I liked the resolution of the story, though it veered toward the overly dramatic- just shy of too much. It was sweet and it made me laugh out loud. What more can you want? Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc.

Name Your Price is a bit complicated. When Chuck and Olivia go viral after they break up publicly, things get interesting when they're offered the chance to win a million dollars if they can live together for a month. Like any good game show, there are twists and turns along the way. Challenge aside, there are some deep topics covered in this book...Hollywood scandals, paparazzi, shame, dishonesty. I wouldn't call it a light book, but it's a good read.

Could you endure living with your ex on a reality show for a chance to win a million dollars?! The forced proximity premise was unique and the extra challenges were cute and funny. You could feel their chemistry jumping off the page. This was a super cute and entertaining read!

I enjoyed this cute romance. The chemistry was there, the romance was there. It was a cute story. Thanks to the publisher for the review copy, all opinions are my own

A super interesting premise! The banter was cute and I enjoyed the idea, I’m not sure the characters had enough growth for their backstory to really make this relationship a long term thing, but that’s my cynical side showing. A fun little read! Thank you so much for the ARC!

Wow! The premise of this book! Would you take a million dollars to stay/get back with your ex? (He’s not abusive or anything) Welp. Olivia and chuck try it. There are so many tropes I love in this and was introduced to such as TV reality rom com and he loved her first which is a new and trend lately! Second chances is an all around house favorite! Forced proximity & witty banter definitely for the win! I really want to say thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this opportunity!!! Great debut!

Holly James doesn't disappoint! I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between out main characters is undeniable and watching them rekindle their love for one another was swoon-worthy! This story leans in to the importance of communicating with your partner through the best of times to the hardest.

I really enjoyed this rom-com of a book! The banter was enjoyable and the relationship was relatable. It was not predictable in the sense that any romance books usually are, and I really appreciated the plot twists. Highly recommend for a feel good love story with a happy ending if you want to be in your feels!

A cute, lighthearted, summer read. While I liked the premise of the book and it was relatively well-executed, I'm not sure I saw enough change in the characters to believe that the ending will be anything different than the couple's historical pattern. Thank you to the Netgalley and Penguin Group Dutton for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

this was a cute and lighthearted read! i really enjoyed getting to know both characters, and the side characters were just as fun too. it was an intriguing concept of going on a reality tv/game show and it was executed really well! i could see it playing out in my head and the drama between chuck and olivia was funny at times! you can feel the chemistry between both main characters and seeing how all their problems unfold as they’re living together in forced proximity!
thank you to the author, netgalley, and penguin group dutton for giving me an opportunity to an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Name Your Price is such a fun and unique premise for a book! I loved the idea of exs having to have forced proximity, especially without being able to touch each other.
The beginning of the book, with their very public breakup, immediately had me hooked into seeing what kind of fun we would be reading about in the competition. The first 30% of the book was so fun, I loved seeing Olivia’s spicy side when it came to her dealing with Chuck.
However, the competition and the relationship ended up falling pretty short for me. I ended up being more interested in the story behind Olivia’s parents, instead of wanting to see the relationship between her and Chuck.
The sweet moments that pop up warmed my heart but there just wasn’t enough to keep me interested in seeing them end up together in a romance relationship. I just kept seeing them as friends, instead of something deeper.
I definitely can tell there are going to be some romcom readers out there that are going to love this book, but it’s not quite there for me.
