Name Your Price was such a fun premise and story – and we get to take the ride along to see what happens when you put two exes into a house where they can’t leave, there’s only one bed, no living room furniture, a million dollars (each) on the line, AND they can’t touch or they lose money. I’m still fanning myself from the chemistry between Olivia and Chuck – because these two were just combustible in the best possible way, and even when they were “enemies” they most definitely weren’t. The bantering was perfection. Overall, this was a really fun read and you can’t go wrong when you read anything by Holly James.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Holly James and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

The forced proximity trope is my favorite and this book does not disappoint!!!
When Olivia and Chuck go through a public breakup, they believe it's 10000% over until they are offered a chance to win a million dollars on a reality show. Can they survive being locked in a house together? Can they ignore the chemistry between them and remember why they broke up in the first place?
Loved the characters and overall this was a fun, light summer read!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When two ex’s go through a very public breakup, they decide to take a chance on a reality tv competition for a million dollars - the catch? They have to stay locked in a house together for one month..what could go wrong?!
Name Your Price is a really fun summer read and was entertaining throughout it’s entirety! The forced proximity trope is the superior trope and James excels at writing it! The tension was perfectly balanced with humor and chemistry 👌🏻 I also loved both Chuck and Olivia as standalone characters but also as a couple.

This book was so cute and fun! I loved the two MCs and supporting characters. It was definitely predictable but I loved the discussion/emphasis on mental health and the witty banter. I definitely recommend if you are in the mood for a fun romance book.

This was such an adorable romcom. Kind of like big brother for a couple who only knows how to fight well. Liv and Chuck have so much passion and chemistry that their emotions just don’t surface the right way with each other. Maybe it’s because they don’t know each other completely but when they get stuck in a house together for a month, to win a million dollars each, they start to figure it out. I really enjoyed this one!

Thank you Netgalley and Penguin Group Dutton for sharing an ARC with me.
Olivia and Chuck have so much combustable chemistry. They are either ripping each other's clothes or exploding in an argument. And they both need money. After a video of them arguing in the streets goes viral, they are invited by the producers of a reality tv show to live together in a house for 1 month. If they can succeed, they will each get $1 million dollars.
While their relationship and the premise of the book is both believable and unbelievable, I totally enjoyed this book. It was perfect escapist fun.

There were definitely parts of this that I really enjoyed, but it didn't mesh well for me as a whole. Their relationship seemed more toxic than anything and I'm confused as to why they would both be willing to try for each other as there didn't seem to be any good aspects of it rather than great sex. Olivia is in dessssperate need of some therapy. I also didn't understand how if her parents were so famous and wealthy that they didn't leave her money or investments, and if the wife loved them so much that she wouldn't be willing to support their daughter. It honestly left a lot of questions more than anything for me. I did like the concept and how Chuck knew what her issues were and that the house would force them to face them.

I love that this couple addressed their main issue.
The idea of their breakup going viral and this led them to having to live together was funny. I wish we could have seen them do more challenges at the house.

It took me a while to get around to reading this book, but I'm not sure why because it was such a fun, cute read. Loved Olivia and Chuck's characters and even though it was a romance, it wasn't too spicy (which I really prefer!). Wasn't the best writing, and it wasn't super funny or anything, but a solid HEA ending with fun characters. 3.5 stars

In this cute romcom, two broke exes sign up for a reality TV show to be locked in a house together, in hopes to win a large cash prize which could significantly improve their respective financial situations.
This novel had all the fun tropes: enemies to lovers, second chance romance, close proximity. The tone was humorous and lighthearted. I read this on a trip, and it makes a perfect beach read! Character development in this novel was great. At first, the impression I got about the MCs was that there is a whole lot of chemistry between them, but not much love, respect and understanding. But they do grow and mature throughout the story. It was actually fun to discover that maybe this crazy reality TV show idea wasn't bad at all for Olivia and Chuck's future.
If you're looking for a lighthearted, funny and witty romcom with a sprinkle of spice, this book is a great one to pick up. Makes a fun weekend or a vacation read.

thank you netgalley for the e-arc. i thought this was a perfectly fine book. i wouldn't call it a romcom because it wasn't particularly funny. i liked the interactions between olivia and chuck in the way that they were familiar with eachother's emotions and they way they would react and how they know to comfort eachother. i think the part where olivia leaves the house is anticlimatic. the producers of the show were the worst. there needed to be more spiciness to make up for the rest of the blandness.

This romance improves as Olivia and Chuck get more likeable. After all, we start by seeing them at their worst.
The book opens at the end of a relationship, with the very public break-up between Chuck, a B-list actor, and Olivia, a writer for an entertainment magazine. They've had combustible chemistry since they first met when she was interviewing him, and their relationship has been one continuous cycle of fight/make-up sex ever since. This time, though, Olivia is done for good...or so she thinks. But when she and Chuck--both in need of funds--are offered $1 million each to live together for a month for a reality show, she reluctantly agrees to move in with her ex. After all, if they just keep some distance, they should be able to make it, right? Between meddling producers trying to reignite their chemistry and challenges that test the tentative bonds reforming between then, Olivia and Chuck may not make it out of the house in one piece.
I didn't love either Olivia or Chuck at the beginning, but they grew on me as they dealt with the misconceptions and issues they'd had be harboring in their relationship. The plot worked best when focused on the two of them, and a near-end detour to another relationship that needed resolution worked but took the gas out of the central romance and its ending. That said, it was good for character development, so I'm on the fence about how the last few chapters are plotted.
The good news is that romance is enjoyable enough that you should read it and find out for yourself if you like how it ends. It is worth hanging in past the first few chapters of their contentious relationship!

This was a wonderful book. Although they have a great chemistry and are clearly caring for one another, Olivia and Chuck find it difficult to express what they need from one another. Naturally, it sounds amazing to be paid a million dollars and just have to live with your ex for a month, but the production company adds a lot of twists and turns to make it more intriguing. Reading this book was quite enjoyable for me. The premise was amazing, and I enjoyed all of the challenges thrown at them during filming.

Olivia and Chuck have so much chemistry!! The tension was so well written, along with the amazing character growth. At the beginning I truly believed that these two were toxic for each other - but the way Holly James writes their story is so well done.
Four stars!! I would have liked more depth in the final chapters.

that was surprisingly fun, although a little bit cliche. Olivia & Chuck's dramatic breakup was caught on camera, went viral, and then they were invited to do a TV show where they have to live together for a month with the prize of 1 million dollar if they succeed. not only they have to co-live, there's also to keep the show "interesting"
they agreed because they both need that money: Olivia to pay for her grandma's care in the nursing home, and Chuck because his filming career was collapsing and struggled to land a role. but of course the reality of that arrangement is much harder than what they expected. and soon it's clear that they still have feelings for each other.
the TV host loved drama too much that he often improvised the script and put Olivia and Chuck in difficult situations. lets just say that he's a dick and i HATE the peak conflict. i was annoyed at Olivia a bit there but fuck TJ for facilitating that scene.
overall it was good. i liked it. now I need fanarts!!

Unfortunately unlike this authors other books, this one just didn’t really work for me. I liked the premise of this but absolutely was not rooting for these characters to end up together. I didn’t really like either character and I didn’t like them together either.

Once I started, I couldn't stop. Olivia and Chuck have an explosive breakup that is caught on camera where Olivia declares she wouldn't get back together with Chuck even for a million dollars. Welp, her will is about to be tested, because unfortunately for Olivia, her ex is well known and they are approached to do a TV show. The catch? They have to live together, isolated from the world, and cannot leave the house or they lose. There are so many other traps for these two, but both of them need the money and so they reluctantly agree.
I'm not sure why , but I thought this would be more like a Jeopardy game show when I saw the cover, but this was even better. The sparks and fireworks really fly in this one. I was big fan of the Deja Glitch and this was equally enjoyable for me, if not more, because I loved the banter.

This was a really great book. Olivia and Chuck have AMAZING chemistry (seriously, like wow), and you can really see that they do care for each other, but are struggling to communicate their needs.
Obviously, having a million dollars offered to you and all you have to do is live with your ex for a month seems like a good deal, but the production company throws a lot of curve balls to make it more interesting (and wow, it definitely was interesting).
There is a lot of complexity in the story too. Olivia is trying to care for her Grandmother, and is trying to fight the spotlight of being a supposed “affair child”. And Chuck is trying to make it in Hollywood, but is also keeping a secret he cant expose. You really feel what these characters are going through.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It would be a good beach read!

3.5 stars
This forced-proximity romcom has a really cute and original premise. Reality show/competition? Yes, please and thank you. I enjoyed the main female character and her backstory, but did not fall for the main male character at all. The beginning and end were pretty good, however, the middle dragged on too long for me.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the Advanced Reader's Copy!

I had to pick up and put down this book several times because the viral drama that starts the book is so not my favorite. However, once I got into the rest of the story I fell in face first and couldn't stop. Olivia (avoider of the Hollywood rollercoaster) and Chuck (slightly outcast rising star) are explosive together. Unfortunately, this is especially true when they have an explosive breakup outside on the street where someone films them and their entire fight goes viral. Moreso when her comment "I wouldn't for a million dollars!" gets picked up by a show popular for having someone name their price to do something scary or unpleasant. The rest of the story of Olivia and Chuck, their past and their current situations and all of the things that get in the way of relationships is a fun ride. I loved some of the more mischievous parts, the more caring parts, the parts that create bonds.
