I really wanted to love this latest offering from Helen Oyeyemi, an extraordinariy author. At its core, this story has an intriguing concept, with a book within the book, « Paradoxical Undressing », with an everchanging first chapter.

However, the story is scattered and feels like quick outlines of bigger stories. It is hard to follow and challenging to finish.

Thank you to Penguin Random House Canada and NetGalley for the ARC.

Fun for those willing to dip their toes into weird, puzzling books. Beautiful. Inscrutable. Certainly different than all the pulp you see in the supermarket. Challenge yourself, pick this up, you won't regret it.
